We have just spent the most wonderful week at eagles nest. What can I say, the views from the balcony were breathtaking, I wanted to spend all day there!! (a plus is every room had the same amazing view) The pool area was lovely, peaceful and pristinely clean. Our room was not one of the newly refurbished rooms but again was spotlessly clean and had everything you need including a small kitchenette, clothes airer with pegs, plenty of storage for clothes and coat hangers. The location was amazing, a 15 minute walk down to the beach where we found some wonderful restaurants, and a 15/20 minute walk up the hill into the next village for more great restaurants. The local supermarket which had everything you'd need was approx a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is on a steep hill, but perfectly doable if you have moderate fitness levels....and a bottle of water, but taxis are also readily available. A massive thankyou to Marina, who is the kindest host and couldn't do enough for you, there were beers and water waiting in the fridge for us on arrival and a breakfast organised for us on our first morning....true Greek hospitality. We can't wait to...

The rooms are very comfortable, ours was on the ground floor and double doors opened up to a private patio area with sea views and a very lush lawn filled garden area ( with vines as well). Eagles Nest is situated on a hill so be prepared for some stiff walks back to the accommodation. .many people rent out cars and I understand that...the entire resort is very hilly so if you are hard of walking you will find it challenging . We just took our time walking down and back up to the beach front with a good choice of bars and restaurants. In the opposite direction to the beach, an uphill walk will take you to more bars and restaurants. There are 2 minimarkets and cashpoints nearby ( both charged 5 Euros per transaction). The entire resort is quiet and I would suggest that there is not too much for young kids to do. We absolutely loved Eagles Nest, Marina and the way the resort is spread out. It was an effort at times but still so thoroughly wonderful. We will be...
Read moreWOW.....Eagles Nest was perfect and our host Marina was an absolutely fabulous host. |The views from every room is spectacular, our room was spotlessly clean with everything you could need provided.|Marina is the real star of the show, she left us supplies in the fridge on arrival, and even arranged for a complimentary breakfast to be delivered to our room on the first morning. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she let us extend our check out time and even made us a great Greek coffee while we waited for our cab on our last day and to top it off she gave us a departing gift as we left. |Hiring a car to travel around the island and see all Kefalonia has to offer is a good idea and the company we used BeepBeep were the best.|There are plenty of hills to tackle in the area so be prepared to get some good exercise in but the views you get are second to none and so worth the effort.|We will be back and will definitely be recommending Eagles Nest to all our family...
