Efthalia Apartments & Studios — Hotel in Lefkada Municipality

Villa Efthalia is just a right place to stay in Nydri, Lefkada. The location is simply great, in a vicinity of absolutely everything and in a walking distance from the nearest city beach (literally 1 minute). The private parking is also secured, several steps away from the villa.

The apartments (and the entire villa) are clean, specious enough, with comfy beds and with wonderful balconies full of flowers. There are the basic kitchen accessories, what we found satisfactory for our needs (and everyone else´s, if you are not aiming to make a feast). Cleanliness has to be underlined: towels were changed every other day, bed linen once in 3 days and the room was cleaned every day, and everything was carefully taken care by the host, Mrs. Efthalia.

Mrs. Efthalia deserves a special mention in this review, because she is simply wonderful and outstanding person, who made our stay special and very pleasant. She is friendly, kind, attentive and always with a smile on her face. We had a feeling like visiting a family!

Firstly, the rooms are clean and the location is great. The owner provided us with homemade honey which was lovely.||||This is where the positives end. The room was incredibly uncomfortable - rock hard beds, very small room and tiny shower. We did not sleep at all. The air con does not work if the bathroom door is open which makes the bathroom unbearably hot and almost unusable. The aircon blows straight onto the bed so it's very cold in the night and there are no extra pillows or blankets. Also, the owner tried to push us out of the room at 9:30 to clean. Unfortunately we had to end our trip early due to a family emergency and whilst we understood that we would need to pay, we thought the owner might knock a token fifty euros off for a whole week of no amenities used or cleaning done on the room, but she insisted we pay the full amount immediately, by credit card (she had previously told us payment must be in cash). To top it all off, we left a review on Booking.com as we felt very misled by the reviews on there, and it mysteriously vanished, the only reviews on there are excellent and there is no way we are the only ones who found this experience very unpleasant. Myself, my partner and my brother have just come back from 5 nights in Nydri staying at Efthalia and it is such a lovely place to stay. Firstly, the owner is just the loveliest lady you could hope to meet and was very nice to us while we were there. She does not speak much English at all, and I certainly don't speak any Greek but pertinent notices are in both languages and if you are reasonably well travelled you can almost certainly work out what's being said. ||The room was clean, and cleaned daily with decent facilities should you wish to cater for yourself, we used it just for showers and sleeping going out early and coming back late for which it was perfect. It was a reasonable price, and had lovely cold AC, can't fault it really. Me and my partner want to come back to Nydri, and will almost certainly be staying here. ||One thing to watch out for potientially, which is not a bad point as such, but maybe something to be aware of, all of the rooms are up at least one flight of stairs, just be aware if you have any...
