We went to elounda sunrise apartments from the 9-22 June....and what a good time we had. I went with my partner and my mum and dad for two weeks. The room we stayed in was lovely with an amazing view of the sea. The cleaners were great and kept it nice and clean with fresh towels and bedding every couple of days. Sula who works behind the bar, does not stop! She was amazing. Yani who also works behind the bar and owns it was fantastic! He made our holiday and even took the effort to drive to were we got picked up from as we didn't see him the morning we left, just to say goodbye to us 🥰 The receptionist was very helpful and even came to give me my earing before I left which I left in the room. Pete! Who organises all the boat trips...what a funny guy. We went on a sunset cocktail cruise and got to go to 2 swim stops and jump from the top of the boat. It was beautiful! 😍 I even did a front somersault of the top! 🤣 and then danced on the deck on the way back. What a fun trip! Honestly the best place and we will definatly be back next year to see everyone. I can't wait! 🏝🏖 Becki Lappin.

We had a fabulous 10 day stay in the apartments. We had a night flight and were delayed by about an hour and staff were still waiting for us to check in. We were so grateful. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Towels and bedding were changed regularly. We had a large spacious apartment. It had twin cooking rings, a kettle and a fridge. Food and drinks at the Jungle bar were reasonably priced and tasty. We payed €20 for the use of the safe in the room and the air con was available for €80 a week if needed. (they are both free if you book direct or through Expedia or Booking.com.) The apts are perfectly situated and the view across the bay is beautiful. The apts have a boat which runs trips to Spinalonga island (worth a visit) and BBQ and cocktail cruises as well. Pete can sort you out regarding the trips and basically everything Crete, where to go, how to get there, and the cheapest way of doing things. Thanks Pete. We had a great holiday and we would recommend Sunrise apartments as a great place to stay.

Brilliant place to stay for a holiday, all the staff are polite and will do anything for you, and Yannis is just a pure legend behind the bar 🍻, there is a couple of cats nearby which love a good fuss and also there’s cat charity box for donations on the bar, The rooms are clean tidy and just the right size, built in hair dryer and shaver point, Only thing I will say about the room which is no biggy is we could of done with more storage space for cloths 🙂, The food is amazing orange pies and cheese burgers and milk shakes are really nice well worth trying, The main reason we choose this place to stay was how the close the beach is and how perfect it is, clean sun beds and shower there and not to busy either, Sunrise also holds there own boat trips to which are brilliant, cocktail cruise which has music and a diving platform 🙂👍, Thank you for the stay here lovely holiday 👌🍻.

Our family of five arrived mid-August and from the outset, Yannis, one of the owners, couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We stayed in room 17, which opened directly onto the bar and pool area, and this was super convenient. The noise levels were acceptable and we often ended our days relaxing with drinks. Bar prices were very reasonable as were the prices for food, served 9am-5pm. As apartments are self catering, all food is prepared to order, from omelettes and toasties, to Greek meze, (of which they prepared vegetarian version for us). Some vegan food available, too. ||The room had two big bedrooms and we could fit our three boys in one easily with two beds and a comfy sofa-bed. Plenty of storage for food bits by the kitchen area and a big fridge freezer. Air con machines were in both bedrooms and have an auto cut off when windows or front door are opened. They were a little noisy, so if a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs just in case. We also had two W/Cs, with a shower in one, alongside a separate hand basin/shaving room. It all worked well for us and was clean, with cleaners also coming every three/four days, and bins emptied daily.||In terms of location, Sunrise is at the end of the nearby strip of aprtments and hotels, so is a little quieter (not that the immediate area is noisy at all), which was perfect. The apartments were around 5 minutes walk from the busy restaurant and bar areas and a 3 minute walk from supermarkets/shops situated on a parallel road behind. The best thing? You will be a 10 second walk from the sea! We often went snorkelling right opposite the complex before or after heading out for the day, and saw colourful fish, flying fish, crabs and starfish. The water is calm and perfect for swimming. It's a pebbly area so aqua shoes help. There is also a pebbly-ish beach area just a minute away to the right of the apartments where you can hire sunbeds and soak it up. A further few minutes walk and you can swim amongst the underwater, sunken city of Olous - a highlight of our trip. Expect to find old city wall remains as well as clearly marked building outlines, and toppled remains. Such a unique experience for the kids! ||Travel wise, there is a taxi rank in the town square, ten/twelve mins away. There are also tour operators in the town so plenty of options. If vehicle hire is your plan, there are a few companies within a few mintes walk of the complex. Right opposite the Sunrise, is Pete's boat cruises, which offers a cocktail cruise in the evening as well as daytime trips to the old leper colony on Spinalonga. There is also a local bus service, with stops around three minutes walk away, though the journey to the capital, though cheap, took almost three hours from start to finish including one change, as it had numerous pick up points on route.||All in all, the apartments were perfect for our stay. The team there were outstanding and super friendly, and I would recommend to anyone avoiding the packed busyness of those huge tourist traps. This was our gateway to self-sufficient blending of history...

We stayed here as a party of 5 ladies and had 2 apartments. One was a studio in the older block, and the other was a marionette in the newer block. Both were spacious, although the one in the older block was slightly dated. However, both were very clean and had lovely views of the sea. ||The staff are so friendly, especially the ladies at the bar. We had breakfast there a few times and was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. ||We went on the sunset cruise, which is on the boat directly opposite the hotel. It was so much fun. You can book this through Peter at the hotel. He was a great guy who made us laugh and gave us the nickname of The Sunrise Girls. He also had lots of knowledge of places and things to do.||Elounda is a very pretty place with lots of restaurants and shops. We never had a bad meal. The ones on the water can be a little bit more money, but we did have a beautiful meal at Moonspinners. However, I would say our best meal would be at The Hope, which is a short cab ride up to a small village. Get there at around 7 to watch the sunset in the bar next door to the restaurant and then go and eat around 8ish. Beautiful views overlooking the bay. Very traditional Greek dishes. You may have to book, tho. The other restaurant we loved and we went to twice was Vintage. This restaurant is in a backstreet less than 10mins walk from the hotel. Christine welcomes you with a huge hug, and the food portions are huge. You only need one main meal between 2 as you get so many extras like a big salad. We couldn't believe how cheap the bill was. The village wine was nice too.||I can understand why people go back to Elounda time after time. ||I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this hotel, as we felt welcomed as friends. Thank you Sunrise for a...

Last but not least; un tocco di goliardia.
