Vintage — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Sadly, we found Vintage on our last day.

What. A. Place.

Christina is the greatest host ever! She made us feel EXTREMELY welcome as we took our first step in her taverna. She then insisted that she clear and clean a table, which was admittedly the best one, but still had it's previous customers empties on it and there were other tables empty and available. So, we graciously accepted her kind offer.

What followed was absolutely fantastic food and hospitality. We had great fun with Christine trying to navigate each other's language. The feeling of love and warmth from her is tangible.

We enjoyed stuffed vegetables, chicken gyros and some welcomed ice cool drinks, all 100% top notch.

Also noticeable were the amount of locals who ate their food there. Always the true sign of quality and authenticity.

The only disappointment was that we found Vintage on the last day.

After eating at too fancy and not worth it restaurants in the area, we came to this amazing place. Local, traditional food served by wonderful locals that were so nice to us, even with the language barrier. The ordering and billing is done on paper with an easy to understand "form", that also helps with the language gap. The food is very very good. It is simple – but amazing. Big portions we couldn't even finish. The Greek Salad was fresh and big and only 6€ which is amazing, the Vine Leaves were tasting really good and oriental. The chicken souflaki and chicken filler are just huge and we couldn't finish all of it. Very tasty and warm, comes with fries and bread which were also great. Don’t judge a book by his cover. The tavern has no frills but it has exceptional traditional food at a incredibly low price. Low price does not means low quality!!!! Quality is absolutely very high and the portions are very large! About food we are quite fussy and demanding (you know how much Italian are food-obsessed). Tzatziki superb, small gyros was giant, cheese balls outstanding, moussaka incredible! And Cristina and her sister are so kind and friendly, it’s natural to hug them before leaving!
