I must say, if you're very confused whether to book this holiday due to the reviews .. I hope my review clears everything for you and the reasons why I given it 5 Stars .. so feel free to read this if it helps in anyway
THE BEACH About 150 or so steps away, down hill from the hotel (and of course back up hill on the way back) is a very narrow but beautiful sandy beach. Its absolutely stunning. We like getting there early before it gets busy and have a choice of the sun beds but it was perfect. The sea absolutely warm (I went in October for context).. The sun was behind you above the mountains, reflexing of the sea. it was as good as the photos if not better. If you don't like the steps towards the beach from the hotel.. there is another route you can take. (which is less steep which my mother took as she had an operation on her ankle) 2 clear signs down the hill along the hotel that points to a nice beach bar. Big blue signs cant miss it. cut through there, through the car park and down about 20 stairs. you're straight at the sandy beach. easy as that. Sun beds are 15 Euros for 2 of them, and you can have them all day! But of course, you don't have to buy them..
THE HOTEL
on the website, clearly but some of these reviews they didn't check the website. It indicates what is free and.. what is extra. We booked the golden gate room for under £100 a night, nicest room in the hotel.. with private transfers luggage .. 7 nights and all that Malaki. So what is extra. Wifi is - 2 x devices cost you 25 Euros But they do other offers, like 10 nights.. 3 nights.. 1 device etc. and Cocktails are extra. Which again, states on their website they only do house spirits and lager. They do happy hour from 17:00 to 21:00 where its buy one get one free on all cocktails. Our rooms were cleaned everyday, maids are very friendly and polite.
The food, some said was repetitive. They do breakfast, lunch and dinner. every day of course. Unfortunately, things like chips and maybe rice etc are likely to always come up.. as everyone likes it. Main meals wise, and fair and selective few options to pick from. but there is always something different everyday. Worse case, if it does get a bit boring. Several nice restaurants down the strip which do quality food at a reasonable price. and Drinks also.
The woman is not miserable on the counter, they work 7 days a week (I mean this literally as well), all the staff are hard workers and polite. No offence, if my job consisted of that, I wouldn't be smiling 24/7 either. you talk to her in a nice manner, you get the same back. There is a nice little shop that does extras if you need extras for the room stuff like tea bags - 30 cents each suger - 10 little packs for 50 cents Bottled water, big and small. Things for the beach.. tooth paste/tooth brush etc etc. handy to have consistently on your door step
The pools are nice enough to dip in and swim lengths back and forth Not miles long unfortunately but enough to chillax in !
OTHER INFO: This hotel I do not recommend for children, not much to do with kids around the area in my opinion The views amazing!! Must Must get sea view room or you'll regret it Staff - especially chef - amazing and helpful. The chef will tell you what the dishes are if you are not confident They have DJ Nights every Tuesday and Thursday Agios Nikolas - 20min bus journey and the main town is a 10min walk from the station - loads of bars and restaurants .. and gift shops. 1.60 euro each way.
SPENDING MONEY. me personally, whether I'm all inclusive or not, I like to leave the hotel a little and see and try new things. I took 400 Euros and my girlfriend took 200 euros. We ended the holiday with about 80 euros between us, (7 nights) but like I said, we went out several times and bought the sun lounges 4 times over. Bars and food out a few times and so forth. tipping staff as well.
All in all, Couple holiday. Highly recommend for you. one last thing, Private transfer is a must, about 1hr drive from Airport otherwise 2-3 hours on a shuttle...
Read moreWe arrived to the hotel late at night to the most unwelcoming night receptionist, a blonde man who seemed bemused when we were unhappy to find out that the WiFi is not included in this ‘all inclusive’ hotel. After a fairly long flight and no food, we were looking forward to our first meal. However we received a miserable sandwich each consisting of two thin slices of bread, a thin slice of ham and cheese. To wash it down was an apple and a 250ml bottle of water. We asked if there was anything else available as we hadn’t eaten and again were told to lump it by the unhelpful receptionist. This set the tone for the rest of the holiday. The hotel itself has been recently renovated and is in a beautiful, albeit quiet location. Unfortunately that’s about all the praise we can give the hotel itself. The staff (with the exception of one or two) are generally very unfriendly and don’t take any pride in giving their guests a good experience. An example of this is the fact you walk past the reception to get to anywhere in the hotel, and with sometimes as many as 3 or 4 receptionists being present, they will completely ignore you as you walk past and only greet you if you say hello first. The nights are noisy. We had only 1 or 2 nights out of the seven where we weren’t woken by either other noisy guests, the generator below our room, the fire alarm going off or something else. The food, we had read before going, isn’t great, but we ate only the Cretan dishes and found it really tasty so we had no complaints here. In terms of drinks, there is one white wine, one local beer and one red wine on tap. The last is not palatable so I wouldn’t recommend. If you want any cocktails or nicer drinks, you have to pay. If you want bottled water, you have to pay. If you want to play pool, you have to pay. You get the point; Not much is included. The coffee machines and drinks dispenser at breakfast time are turned off for most of the day so they do their best to make sure you’re not over-consuming. We did our best to ignore all of the above and enjoy our holiday regardless. However, our last day was possibly the worst. We ended the holiday how we started it-hungry! We checked out of the room at 10am (our flight was at 11pm at night). They tried to take off our all inclusive wristband at the same time and we refused. We were allowed to keep it until 12am where it was swapped for two vouchers stating we had one lunch with one complimentary drink each! The wording ‘complimentary’ is laughable considering we had paid in advance to be fed and watered! The staff were quick to notice the lack of band and ask us to hand over the vouchers so we could no longer be served any beverage until we left. We had only water until our flight, which we weren’t sure was included but were willing to fight over if challenged. The hotel has no emphasis on customer satisfaction. They are only concerned about making more money on top of what you pay for the original holiday. I wish we had spent more time reading honest reviews before choosing this hotel. If anyone’s read this until the end and values not being made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in the hotel they choose, I’d recommend you consider...

I must say I feel like the all inclusive wasn't very good. I just feel it is very stingy. There is a lot of extra costs. We have been to Greece before so we were aware of the tax, although it was €60 this time for us. Mini spa access is €40 for an hour. WiFi is extra per day I think £3 per device, per day. (Service in some parts of the room wasn’t good but we didn’t pay for the WiFi) I couldn’t get a coffee between 10-11 so had to buy sachets of instant from the gift shop( again not provided in rooms). I feel like the food hours were way shorter than other all inclusive hotels I been to.
I personally really disliked the drink options. They were very poor quality and the options were very limited. The coffee from the machine tasted like cheap instant. The soft drinks at breakfast were either too sour or too sweet. The spirits were horrible. The soft drinks from the dispenser tasted so cheap. The beer was probably the best option and in the main bar it was almost always served half head/foam. (Except in the golden wing pool bar)
We enjoyed the breakfast the days we had it, we only had lunch twice and only had dinner twice. Breakfast was so lovely, I only wish for more fruit options. But dinner and lunch was very average, different options but just not the quality you would expect from a 4* Hotel.
Reception staff especially Mary, were very helpful. Girgos at the pool bar was good. The young 7am cleaner by golden wing (wish I got her name) was a ray of Sunshine. But I felt some of the other staff were not rude , they just were not welcoming or helpful at all. My partner went to the bar and barely got a hello but was asked about his wristband abruptly, my partner showed lifted his wrist. The same guy served me the a few times and when I asked if they had something he just looked at me with a slight angry face, I gave in and just asked for a beer, then he poured it and it was 3/4 foam. I was a bit too intimidated to ask him to fix it. (He was the staff member who wore a shirt and tie, I think he was the manager)
On check out day, you get breakfast as check out is 12. Which we didn’t use as we spent the day at the beach, our flight was at midnight. You get vouchers for 1 drink and lunch. So unlike any other all inclusive hotels I have been to, you cannot use all facilities on the last day.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for an all inclusive stay as we ended up spending way more money than we intended too. However, I think the views are spectacular and the...
