I arrived around 11am after an overnight flight from UK and a boat from Rafina. The apartments are at the top of some steep stairs and pathways which was a bit of a challenge from where the bus dropped off on the sea front. My hosts Georgina and Babbis gave me a very warm welcome despite the language barrier - their English is marginally better than my Greek!!! I was offered a glass of homemade lemonade while they waited for previous occupiers to vacate what would be my room for next 4 nights - turns out I'd already met couple from Austraila who we moving on, while trying to find the entrance to the property. Thanks for the tips guys if you see this!||I had Room 3 which is a double room in the centre of the floor below reception - the property is kind of upside down with the owners living roadside and above and the rooms to let on the 2 floors below this. Room was spacious and exceptionally clean with lots of personal touches - not keen on all the glass and marble stuff that is easily breakable but that's more because I'm frightened of damaging such delicate things. ||Kitchen was small and basic but there was coffee machine, electric kettle and bread bin. Also a bottle of water to start off in the fridge. The bathroom was compact but contained a full shower cubicle which is always welcome out here. The room had it's own emersion heater instead of relying solely on solar panel, but you are asked by Georgina to turn it on 5 to 10 minutes before use (via electric panel) and off again after you've finished. This is one thing I would definitely change about the property. ||There a number of small mini-markets on the sea front but I found these a little expensive for essentials like water. There is a more local mini-market on the main road and you can access it by following the path directly below the property and turning right when you get back onto the main road - thanks to the Austrailan couple again for that little nugget. If you have a car there is a big supermarket on the main street going into the Chora but not sure where you'd park a car near the Meltemi.||The views from some of the rooms and apartments definitely make this property. I will return to both Batsi and Meltemi in the future, but perhaps get a taxi from Gavrio port to the front door rather than lugging bags up more than 100 steps and a couple of...
Read moreThe view was nice and the room was near to the beach and the port. The bathroom was clean.
BUT: The host was rude. We booked a 3-bed room but we decided to travel with one more friend (4 people in total). She told us that it is OK and she will add one more bed for that. However, when we left she told us that we must pay 20 EUR in cash for that additional bed without any proof of payment!!!! She told us that we can stay 4 more hours on our last day but when we left she was annoyed that we took 10 more minutes than the discussed time!!!! She was nice until we left and she wanted to take...
