Before I write this review, I would point out that I would definitely stay here again. However, this place could be a five star retreat with a little more TLC. Efi works hard to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms and to look after guests, but she seems to have too much to do for one. Whilst the room we had was large clean and tidy the outside space really needs some attention. The room was typical Greece. Nothing is finished to a high standard. Look closely and you will notice the lack of finesse to the general building work. No joints meet and the lack of thought in design is apparent. Negotiating the WC/ bathroom was laughable. How can you start with an empty shell and still position the loo so that it is almost impossible to sit on it and shut the door behind you? If the pool area was tidied up and the broken slabs repaired, etc this would be an almost unbeatable place. |Other little things were noticeable, like the few broken parasols lying around and the cleanliness of the edges of the pool (green algae growing)|Also, the walkway to the property from the main road is a serious hazard. I suppose it is the roughness around the edges that makes Greece so appealing. I would love to see Efi spend some of the money she makes to upgrade the pool area to a better level. The rooms we had were in a wonderful spot, opening out onto the pool area which never gets busy. But they were expensive. This place is close to a dream. Efi needs to invest to keep this place from deteriorating. Saying all this I am sure if she did the things suggested it would be almost impossible to get booked here. What a wonderful...
Read moreFantastic place! We miss it already. We had a great time! The views and location are perfect and Efi is so lovely, friendly and helpful. The sunsets are amazing and you can hear the sea lapping at the shore from the terrace. Perfect. The pool was never too busy and could always find a lounger when needed. Everyone else we met was very friendly and courteous, with a laid back feel. The location is right on the beach, with the pool even closer! There's a selection of tavernas and shops close by along the beach and in town. You don't need a car as everything is to hand. However do be warned that there is no vehicle access and car parking in the town can be difficult, so pack light and be prepared to carry your bags along the beach for few minutes walk to house. Our apartment (number 3 - 1st floor, 2 bedroom apartment at the front) a had air con, fridge freezer, hob/ oven etc well equipped kitchen etc and Efi popped in every day to empty bins etc. Two balconys was great, but the size and views of the main front one were perfect so we just used that one! The cups and plates etc are mis-matched and a few wonky bits and bobs and it's basic rather than luxury, but it had everything we needed and had a lovely homely feel. I'll definitely be recommending it and would...
Read moreSlice of paradise on W coast Corfu. We’ve just returned from our second 2 week stay here as a family of 4 and nothing disappointed us. The apartments were yet again spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and all you need for a holiday was in the apartment . The location is fantastic - no roads and because the beach has a few pebbles- everyone gathers at the purer sand end - which starts about 50m away meaning the beach in front of the house is empty. But a few minutes walk away along beach or boardwalk there are plenty of sun beds, restaurants and the little village has all you need. We’ve never had a car and there are public buses or private transfers available to Corfu town. Highly recommend her sister Olga’s fruit and vegetable shop & Alex’s supermarket at top of the town. But the jewel in the crown is Efi - the owner and manager. She works so so hard at keeping the place clean and tidy - inside and out. She’s a special lady with a big heart ( and a fabulous sense of humour ) that will do everything she can to make your holiday the best it can be. We will definitely be back for many more...
