Sabbia looks great in photos and has an amazing panoramic view, especially at sunset. However, the beach is rocky (both on the shore and in the water), very crowded, and the sunbeds are placed way too close together. As a solo traveler, I had to pay €15 for a fixed package (2 sunbeds + 1 beanbag), with no flexibility, even though I only needed one. When I asked if I could just pay for one, the beach staff curtly told me, “It’s not my location, I can’t give discounts.” It wasn’t about the price – €15 isn’t outrageous – but about the lack of flexibility or consideration. At other beaches in Corfu, I paid €5–10 for a single set. There’s no beach shower, changing cabin, or toilet nearby – you have to walk through the restaurant and a boutique to reach the bathroom. The food is decent but overpriced compared to nearby tavernas. Service also left much to be desired – the waitress seemed unsure of her role. I sat at a table, clearly intending to order, and she just asked, “Can I help you with something?” instead of offering a menu or a drink. It felt unprofessional. Parking is another issue – unless you arrive before 10 AM, you're in for a challenge. Agios Gordios is a small village with narrow, busy streets and limited parking. The area gets packed with cars, scooters, ATVs, and pedestrians, all moving chaotically. Sabbia is good for photos and sunset vibes, but in terms of overall experience, I found better places on the island with more authentic service and comfort...
Read moreStunning decor, if you’re into bugs, uncomfy seating, it’s a must. Bring binoculars to talk to your date. 2/5 for effort.
If you’re looking for somewhere to look good but not feel good, this bar in Agios Gordios wins.
The decor? Gorgeous. The wine? Cheap. The vibe? All about appearances—just don’t expect comfort or romance.
We walked in and were met with “Did you reserve?” energy—even though we were seated without one and surrounded by many empty tables; Others walked straight in and got sat down, so who knows?
Now let’s talk seating: • The tables are comically large, perfect if you’re dining with someone you don’t want to speak to. • Tip for Sabbia: Add stools. Higher ones especially after the ones not closest to the sea. Smaller tables too.
The real kicker? There’s a literal hole in the wall if you’re sat on the bottom level, where—brace yourself—you can see up people’s skirts on the row above. Not a metaphor. Not cute. Just… why?
The ambiance is more “fashion runway” than intimate evening. It’s trying very hard to be exclusive and chic, but honestly it just feels a bit awkward.
And when it came time to pay, we waited so long I began to wonder if they were hand-pressing the receipt.
In summary: ✨ Beautiful space 🍷 Meh wine 💸 Pretends to be premium 🤷♀️ Come once if you’re curious, but...
Read moreMy partner and I had a delightful day at Sabbia yesterday, we agreed it was our favourite so far. 40 euros minimum spend for a set of sun loungers. Ideal spot for day time chill and watching the sunset. The food was some of the best variety of beach clubs too serving a snack menu and restaurant menu to the beach if you wish. We’ve found at this time of the year staff are usually exhausted from a long season and at some other beach bar locations felt we had been waited on begrudgingly. However, this was not the case at Sabbia the guy serving us on the beach was attentive and did so with a smile on his face and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant staff were also welcoming and friendly too. Parking is a pain, but we parked near the private parking spot for Agios Gordios on the street and walked to Sabbia along the beach. Definitely recommend prioritising a visit to Sabbia over the rest, but note, by about 1pm almost all the...
