This is an amazing house and the owners provided a really personal service. We stayed here for a week in August. We were 4 adults and 3 children (13, 11 and 8 years old). The house is very new, and as such feels pristine. The downstairs area is open plan, with plenty of room for eating and lounging, and some cool lighting (one panel had about 10 switches on it!) The kitchen has everything you could need. The owners kindly left a few essentials for our arrival. TV, stereo and Wifi all worked fine (Wifi isn't super-fast compared with my UK home Wifi, but is as good as you might expect from a holiday). The 4 double bedrooms are a good size, and each has a well-appointed en-suite. Note that there is no separate downstairs toilet (not a huge problem). Everything is clean (cleaners came twice a week and did a good job). The pool area is a decent size for 8 people. The pool is just the right temperature, and is well maintained. The BBQ has everything you need, and there's a nice outdoor table next to it (although you need to look out for mosquitoes at night). 5 minutes walk down the hill you have a few nice restaurants overlooking the sea. We didn't really go to the beach, as we were happy with the pool, but it looked pretty good (fine sand, not too rocky). We spent one evening in Chania town, which is an absolute must if you stay here. The harbour area is stunning. We were most impressed though with the attention that Andrie and George, the owners, paid us. They catered for our whims willingly, and added a few unexpected touches that really rounded off the holiday - I won't steal their thunder by listing...
Read moreFrom before our visit to this lovely villa began to the day we left Andrie could not do enough for us. We had a baby in tow and high chair and cot - no trouble. When we arrived via the minibus which had been booked for us by Andrie we were greeted with a stunning bowl of fruit, cretan local produce and honey raki - mmm.The air conditioning in the villa must be the quietest we have ever encountered, and the pool with it's freshwater was a complete delight to swim in. The villa itself couldn't be better placed for the lovely sandy beach or the local supermarkets (Andrie took us shopping on the first day, out of her sheer kindness and with no extra cost). There are some great restaurants and beach bars within a 10 minute walk - and the bus stop is 5 minutes walk away - for trips to Chania - and coming back after a late night there - buses are cheap and come on time!! Do not hesitate to book this fantastic villa - you really will not be...
Read moreAs a family of 6 we had a fabulous week at Villa Meliti. The place is gorgeous, well equipped with everything you need to spend a relaxing holiday! The villa is located just 5 min walk to the beach and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. There are also buses to Chania, so location couldn't be better (it is also very quiet in the evening). The pool is absolutely smashing with loads of space for loungers. But by far the best point was the owners, George and Andrie, so kind and helpful! They surprised us with many local treats and kindly helped us with a weekly shop when we arrived. They were so flexible with us arriving early as well. Thank you so much for your generosity, you are wonderful hosts! Hope to be...
