This review feld hard for me, as I am very torn between four and five stars. Most of all our weeklong stay was great, and the Hotel would deserve five stars in a lot of places. However there were some things I did not peciulary like, and overall these were too many to not take them into consideration when writing this review.
The Hotel itself is quite new, therefore nearly everything is in great condition.
We stayed in two different room types: The "Junior Suite Private Pool" was a little on the smaller side, especially regarding storage space in the room. Also be advised that neither your private pool nor the sunbeds are private in the sense that they cannot be seen. They are obviously private for you to use, however they can be seen from other rooms and also the general areas of the hotel.
The second room type was the "Suite private pool". These rooms are completly private and considerably larger and were therefore great.
The Hotel Bar is open until late and the music is played until the end, even if there are not many people around. That is really nice if you sit there, but the music is heard all over the hotel, which can be annoying, if you want to sleep.
All personell, cleaning, Bar-staff, Management are super friendly, engaging and seem to love their job. We felt taken care of very good. The cocktails at the bar were incredible.
Quite some let down was the breakfast. It is a small hotel, so I do not expect a huge varity, compared to places that have ten times as many rooms. Unfortunatley it was not only a small variety, but it did not (or only in nuances) change at all during the whole week. Also the "warm" options were mostly lukewarm or cold. Additionally the quality did not seem to be the best for most of the items provided. I would have expected a little more, considering the price we paid, and that it is a four star place. Also the breakfast ending at 10:00 can be a little early for some folks during holiday.
Also the food that is served at the bar during lunch hour and the once-a-week-BBQ were not on par with the food served in the many tavernas around the hotel. Speaking of the area: The surrounings are great: Many tavernas and bars can be reached by foot in minutes. If you want to head to the beach or explore the island you obviously need a rental car. Rental e-bikes are available at the hotel.
All in all if you get a good deal, the hotel is worth a stay for a week, however I would not pay the price againg, that we had to put up during high-season.
Last but not least: It was not a problem for us, having rooms with private pools and sunbeds, but the hotel does nothing against the reservation of sunbeds by the pool. When we headed for breakfast around 09:00 daily everyday most if not all sunbeds were reserved. Every sunbed. Every day. Some of them (as usual) not used until late on the day, or for short times only. When I went biking at 07:00 (!) on some days the first sunbeds were already reserved. It is such an annoying practice and I would rather...
Read moreWe have just returned from 7 days at Casa Blu and had a very enjoyable stay...
Location - Just around the corner from the centre of Piskopiano, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance 8/10.
Architecture/looks - A very clean and modern looking hotel with some nice stonework. Nice landscaped areas too with olive trees, palm trees etc. 10/10
Pool area - Two pools, big enough for the amount of people using them. Plenty of sun beds despite people 'reserving' them with towels each morning. 9/10.
Bedroom - We had suite 601, a private pool suite. The room was large, stylish and very comfortable. The bed was very comfy. 10/10
Bathroom - again very stylish and well sized shower, sink etc. the only downside is the cold water pressure was poor and often ran warm. 9/10
Cleaning - exceptionally clean. 10/10
Breakfast - Not a huge choice, but it is a relatively small hotel. Most food was of a good quality. Only downsides would be poor quality juices and a general lack of variation from day to day. 7/10.
Lunch - we ate at the pool bar twice. The food was nice on both occasions, and portions sizes were very generous. Good value for money. 9/10
Evening - No food available at the hotel, however we walked into Piskopiano or Koutouloufari each night where there is a wide range of restaurants to suit.
Service - I would describe it is as fairly minimalist across all aspects, however all the staff were professional, very friendly and helpful when needed. 8/10
Car Parking - There was parking for 4 cars directly outside of the hotel, and generally got our hire car in one of those spaces each time. There is on-street parking otherwise adjacent. 7/10
Overall 8.7 out of 10, but in terms of value for what we paid, the hotel deserves it to be rounded up to a 5 star revue,...
Read moreWhat a absolute little gem,in the heart of Piskopiano . An awful lot of thought and consideration for its guest has gone into the beautifully set hotel. With wonderful views of the mountains behind and the in ocean in front. All the rooms are front facing giving fabulous views. The hotel is modern and the build quality is super. The rooms are spacious light with excellent facilities including rain showers and very good free air con and WiFi. There are two pools so plenty of space to relax and enjoy the feel of the place. There is also a fabulous pool bar serving a very good breakfast and meals throughout the day until 16.00 always served by the wonderful Terry and his lovely wife Ernie. The cocktails are also to die for ,any cocktail will be made for you either on the menu are not, always made with a smile by George and Rueler who will make sure your well looked after. Nothing is ever two much trouble especially with the fab Demetris who will order you taxis book restaurants and as extensive knowledge of the area. The live music on a Saturday evening is also very tasteful and brilliant to sit and watch in the evening with a cocktail are two. The owner Demetris visits on a regular basis which is also very nice and meets and chats with all the guests to ensure the hotel is doing everything possible to ensure your stay is perfect. I can guarantee by the end of your holiday you will be on first name terms with all the wonderful staff.
Also take a 5 min stroll to the sister hotel Casa Bianca where the staff Costas,Vangelis and Micheal will always have you laughing.
Can’t wait to return possibly the best Greek holiday we’ve had in years. A special Thankyou to everyone at Casa Blu for giving me and my family a truly...
