En: We may have got used to local taverns, but at least we have places to compare with. First, you'll be surprised to know that your bread and olive plate is not a welcoming dish but a way to take a Euro out of your wallet. The portions are relatively smaller than in taverns. Grilled seafood took them a full hour to serve. And you'll spend the other 20 minutes to get your bill. I donate two stars for delicious food and wine. But if you'd like to get more delicious food for less price and time, you'd better turn right from that nice but pretentious street and head right towards Stou Geraka or Areston Tavern — two wonderful 5-star places that you'll definitely rate...
Read moreWhen I stopped outside this restaurant to browse the menu, the receptionist/waiter asked me if I was travelled alone, and he seemed surprised when he saw that I was by myself. He then proceeded to selling the dishes on the menu. I thought about what he said and his attitude and I began to feel uncomfortable about his comments, so I asked him why he asked me if I was alone, he said that it is strange and not nice to be travelling alone. I was disappointed by his comments and I explained to him that it is nice to travel alone, as when you travelled with someone/in a group - quite often compromises would have to be made. He appeared dismissive of my response and he went on to askiny other tourists to look at his menu. He made me felt uncomfortable about eating in his restaurant. I didn't eat in this restaurant in the end and went to Dave Vegera which is located diagonally opposite Thira Eilotas. The waitresses were friendly and welcome...
Read morewe got bread before our starters, which was garnished with olives and deliciously grilled. the soft drinks and house wines are way cheaper than in a lot of of the other taverns. we had dolmadakia and grilled eggplant as a starter, both were very delicious and at a good price value. for the main course we had pork chops with methaxa sauce and seafood pasta, which were both very tasty, although the portion size was a bit too small. for desserts we had chocolate cake with ice cream and yoghurt with honey, both were very good. the service was great, very friendly and quite fast although we weren't there in high season. all in all we had a...
