Matheos Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Chersonissos

What can I say about Matheos that's not been said previously! Holidaying at Matheos quickly gets under your skin and for us it's now a habit, with the 11th visit happening this year. Matheos is situated on the edge of Piskopianó but is within easing strolling distance to Ano Hersonissos and Koutouloufari. All 3 villages have a multitude of taverna's so you'll never be short of somewhere to have an evening meal. Plus you have Hersonissos below with even more taverna's and nightlife. Matheos is run by the Greek family who own it, they care about you and your holiday. The place is small, with a mix of 14 studios & apartments. In recent years updates have been made, new mattresses, bedheads, regularly painted, curtains in bedrooms have linings to block early morning sun/light. Most recently during this last winter all the bathrooms have been totally gutted and updated . The kitchen areas have also been retiled . The kitchen area is small which is the same for all holiday accommodation and everything is there to make yourself a simple meal, whether you are in a studio or apartment. The bar/kitchen area provides simple meals/snacks from breakfast until mid afternoon. At 6.00pm Matthew takes over the bar and has a great cocktail menu available including non alcoholic ones. He'll be behind the bar until the last guest goes to bed or the newest guest has arrived...

Booked the Matheos after reading reviews on trip advisor and it didn’t disappoint.On our arrival we were met by Matthew who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room located on top floor.The room was spacious with a large balcony with lovely views . The bathroom was one of the best we have ever had.We met Helen the following morning who throughout our two week stay looked after us during the day, moving tables so we could place our sun-beds there and providing us with parasol also lovely pool to cool down in. Nothing was too much trouble for Helen or her family. The place was kept spotlessly clean by a lady who always had a smile for you.Bedding and towels changed regularly . Enjoyed the barbecue night and it gave us the opportunity to meet guest and the whole family, well worth the money. I would recommend these apartments as you will receive Greek hospitality at its best. Will definitely stay...

Just back from a fantastic week in Crete staying at the Matheos Apartments. The apartments are excellent, room was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfy, my room had a large terrace with views down to the coast and included all the amenities you need for a self catering holiday. There is a small pool and plenty of sun loungers, breakfast and snacks are available throughout the day and the bar is superb with a large selection of drinks and TVs to watch any sport that is on! The apartments are family run and the level of service you receive is top tier, Matthew, George and Helen do all they can to make your time there brilliant! The weekly barbecue night was an amazing experience with guests encourage to socialise whilst enjoying excellent Greek food!
