I recently stayed at this hotel, expecting a luxury all-inclusive experience. Instead, what I got was a frustrating, underwhelming, and often outright disrespectful stay. This hotel might look aesthetically pleasing in pictures, but it fails miserably when it comes to service, food, professionalism, and guest care.||Food & Drink – Misleading and Poor Quality||The food was one of the biggest letdowns. Bland, repetitive, and far from 5-star standards.||The so-called Asian restaurant advertises a “Sushi Bar”, yet there was no sushi on the menu. Instead, they were serving chicken tikka masala — which, for anyone who knows food, is neither Japanese nor remotely Asian-fusion. This kind of misrepresentation sums up the entire experience.||The Mexican restaurant served cold, undercooked rice and a “beef taco” starter that was literally just a tortilla wrap — no taco shell, no proper preparation. It felt thrown together, like an afterthought.||To call these venues “à la carte” is incredibly misleading. There was nothing à la carte about the experience — no fresh preparation, no choice, and no quality. My friend and I ended up leaving the hotel to eat elsewhere despite having paid for the all-inclusive package. That alone should say enough.||Alcohol options were equally disappointing. While they proudly display branded bottles behind the bar, everything served is cheap, non-branded alcohol with a very poor selection. Even their sister hotel King Minos offered frozen cocktails and a more enjoyable bar experience. ||Service & Communication – Inconsistent and Unhelpful||The in-room guide promised a pillow menu. We asked for it two days in a row, only to be told the service wasn’t actually available. Why advertise something you won’t deliver? Yet being told by reception “Yiannis” we will get you those pillows. ||We weren’t informed about the à la carte restaurants being included in our package until we complained to guest relations. Basic information like this should be provided at check-in, not discovered through frustration. Especially when at check-in we are told wait until the morning.||Despite emailing weeks in advance to request late check-out, I was told to ask the night before departure. When I did, they said it wasn’t available. Ironically, our room wasn’t even cleaned by 3pm the next day and our bags were still inside. Nobody offered to assist with luggage or provide a solution. We stayed in the room to change before leaving, despite being told we couldn’t — and no one seemed to care either way as the cleaner came to let us back in to get our stuff, seemed very unorganised as I had checked out at 11am.||Reception Staff – Rude and Unprofessional||The reception staff were consistently rude and unhelpful. They acted as if guests were an inconvenience, not customers. At one point, a staff member spoke in Greek about my friend’s necklace, making a snide remark that it probably came from “the Istanbul market” — a completely unnecessary and inappropriate attempt to belittle her. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable anywhere, especially at a resort claiming 5 stars.||Spa Experience – A Joke for the Price||We paid €280/£240 for a couples massage, only for the therapist (Izabella) three times stating “excuse me” whilst she’s giggled throughout the session as my friend had fallen asleep, and treat the experience more like a joke than a professional treatment. It was uncomfortable, unrelaxing, and a total waste of my money.||Hotel Layout – Poorly Designed||The hotel layout is bizarre. Family rooms are at the top of a steep hill, forcing children to pass through the adult-only pool to get to their rooms. Meanwhile, adult rooms are placed right next to the noisy kids’ pool at the bottom of the hill. There were also no pool towels available at the adult pool, you have to travel back down the hill to reception to collect your towels — basic amenities are simply not managed.||This hotel is on a very steep hill, please do not take this lightly as there is no buggy’s to help you.||Arrival & Departure – No Help Whatsoever||Guests are dropped off and picked up outside the front security gate, and no one offers help with luggage — not on arrival, not on departure. Again, not what you’d expect from a 5-star experience.||Final Verdict:||This hotel is not for families, not for couples, and not for groups of friends. It’s a budget-level experience masquerading as a luxury resort.||The food is misleading and poor, the staff are rude, the amenities don’t match the advertising, and the service is well below standard. I’ve stayed at many truly luxurious hotels — this isn’t one of them.||Save your money. Don’t fall for the photos. Don’t stay here unless you want an overpriced holiday full of...
Read morePros and Cons about our stay at Elios;
Pro: they have an adults only pool/bar. The cocktails were better than expected at an all inclusive. Con: despite there being a policy of no reserving of pool chairs, we noticed that this was happening with almost every single chair. There is only a select number of chairs in that area and we were witnessing 80% of chairs being reserved with towels. The pool bar doesn’t open until 10am, but often my partner and I would just use the chairs to lay in the sun before then, and we would see people come up at 8am (some chairs already reserved) and put a towel down and then we wouldn’t see them come back until 10/11am.. then they would lay for an hour or two and then leave again for 1.5+ hours and then come back. So many people would miss out on getting to use the adult pool because of this. (This was mainly done by the large mass of English tourist). We actually told two staff members about it who did nothing, so my partner removed the towels off two chairs next to us one day as the people had been gone for 3 hours. It’s actually really selfish behaviour and had such a negative impact for so many people, the staff really need to manage this a lot better. (Photos attached)
Pro: Room was good, very spacious, had a balcony and little clothes line, as well as a fridge, lots of clothing space, a couch, a selection of pillows and was well attended to when cleaned. Con: It was situated near the main pool (kids pool) though, which meant we could hear noise(music and people) very clearly until about 1am most nights. There was also a big green ?exit light at the front door/above the bed that lit the room enough to interfere with my sleep.. but I’m not a heavy sleeper, so that’s a personal con.
Pro: the buffet did have a lot of options and they did rotate a lot of it each day. The salads were always good as well as the desserts. Cons: some of the hot food options were very bland, dry and underwhelming. Also, some of the fruits some days seemed to be a little old/looked like it was starting to rot. *Note, the snacks they serve between meals aren’t great, it’s mainly (dry) pizza and ice cream.
Pro: the gym was good, never too busy, enough machines to do a decent workout. *The way things are worded on their hotel app and the info books makes it look like it’s only open from 10am, it’s not. We were only told on the last day it’s opened earlier, so that’s was a bit confusing.
Pro: the spa was good. We got a couples massage and facial and the girls who did this for us were great. Con: we weren’t told before hand that part of the 2 hour package was 20 minutes in the sauna/steam/ice room and you needed to bring swimwear for that, so we didn’t get to experience that part of the package too well. *Note, we tipped 30€ but the payment was taken at the hotel reception, not the spa so I’m unsure of the girls get 100% of this. Might be best to give them cash directly.
Pro: the staff at reception were friendly and accomodating. As check out was at 12 and our flight wasn’t until late afternoon, they allowed us to use some of the facilities while we waited to go to the airport. Con: the resort is in a location where you can’t really walk anywhere, so you need to request a taxi anywhere (10€ min). The first time the taxi dropped us well before our requested location. The second time, we wanted to go to Aquaworld, which is 5 minutes away. Apparently the reception told the taxi somewhere else, so half way through we noticed and said, hey this is the opposite direction, we wanted to go to Aquaworld and showed the location.He then turned around and took us to the aquarium which really far away, and when we arrived I told him it was incorrect but he was so frustrated at this point, he was refusing to take us to the place we had told both reception and himself, which was right near our accomodation and instead we had to get another taxi and spend another 25€ to get to the...
Read moreWow, wow, wow! 😍😍😍 What can I say about the amazing Elios Hill Hotel?! This is a beautiful, brand new family resort with truly exceptional service! I'll try to review the hotel by topic. Outdoor Activities: The hotel has a stunning water park for kids with an attached restaurant, where our three children (ages 9-12) could spend the entire day. The park is not too big, and it felt very safe. This gave my husband and I the freedom to go up to the perfect adults-only pool and relax with cocktails from the nearby bar. There's also a fantastic spa with a sauna, hammam, massage rooms, and a well-equipped gym. Of course, there's also a main family pool with daily activities. Other great amenities include a soccer field, table tennis, XBOX, a soft play area, and dedicated family rooms for kids and teens where they happily spend their days and evenings. I was told that next year they plan to open another pool, a jacuzzi, and a yoga area. Food: The hotel has three à la carte restaurants (Asian, Greek, and Mexican) where you can book a dinner reservation, as well as a huge dining hall for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are also bars by the pool, in the lobby, at the water park, and at the adults-only pool. The food is delicious, and you can see a lot of thought goes into the small details. The staff is amazing and responds to every request, whether it's for keeping kosher or dealing with an allergy. It's clear that they want their guests to be happy and satisfied. The restaurant and bar manager, Dimitri, is a rare and wonderful person—a kind, humble, and caring man who helped us a lot during our stay. The same goes for Maria and Calia, the dining hall managers, and all the other restaurant captains. The à la carte restaurants were an amazing experience, like dining at a top chef's restaurant but without the bill at the end. Hotel Appearance: This is a new hotel, designed in a way that is truly out of the ordinary, with every corner thoughtfully designed. The hotel is also very clean, and the atmosphere feels pleasant everywhere you go. Rooms: Our room was a beautiful, super-spacious room for four. It had everything we needed for a comfortable, week-long stay. There were enough closets and drawers for all our belongings, which helped us keep the room tidy. The bathroom was also very spacious and comfortable, and the magnifying mirror was a lovely bonus. Evening Activities: Every evening there are shows in the amphitheater and live music in their stunning upper lobby, which has breathtaking views. The upper lobby also has a great bar that opens in the afternoon. The music is always excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect. You'll even find the hotel's manager, George, there every night, mingling with guests to make sure they're happy and even helping serve drinks to speed up the line. This is truly exceptional and something I've never experienced before. If you are looking for a perfect resort to spend quality time with your kids while also getting some quiet time for yourselves—without compromising the kids' fun—Elios Hill is the perfect choice for you.
