Extremely Disappointing Experience – What Happened, Greece?

I rarely leave bad reviews, but our visit to Buddha-Bar Beach was such a letdown that I feel compelled to warn others.

Let’s start with the service – or rather, the lack of it. We were met with disinterest and slow, unprofessional serving. Simple gestures like offering heated hand napkins were neglected, making the overall experience feel careless from the beginning.

The beach layout looked improvised, with very little thought or interest put into making it feel special or even remotely “premium.” The venue felt unequipped and underwhelming, a far cry from the standard one would expect from a place carrying the Buddha-Bar name.

Now the food and drinks – where to begin? The sushi was an outright disaster, with the so-called Wagyu being wrongly cooked and completely stripped of its supposed quality. As for the dessert – so called “the crème brûlée?” It was nothing more than a watery mix of cheap sour cream and synthetic vanilla – nowhere near the silky, caramelized dessert it’s supposed to be…, also the ice cream tasted like floor-cleaning soap. Not even exaggerating. I truly wondered if something had gone wrong in the kitchen.

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life… if I could give 0 stars I would. Went here as it was my birthday and wanted to go somewhere nice, however was utterly shocked at how such an expensive and established restaurant could be so terrible from the service to the food, I honestly don’t know which was worse. Nothing like the one in London or Dubai. The bao buns were cold and hard, noodles were tasteless, bland and lukewarm. Honestly, seemed like it was just reheated as it was given within 10 minutes. For some unknown reason they decided to give two people their starters and mains and the other two had to wait 15 mins extra which was unpleasant. When one of the servers asked if the food was okay I expressed my disappointment as I had barely eaten my expensive cold food, in which they responded with “would you like a complimentary drink ?” Which I didn’t think was an appropriate solution to the issue. I would also like to highlight our server valentina was extremely rude and blunt, she seemed very irritated when we asked questions and was not welcoming at all. Absolutely shocking customer service, when we had asked for the bill she very rudely responded with she would only show us the bill after we had paid ?? Which I have never heard of before. Overall, just a terrible, extortionate place with nice decor… thanks for ruining...

Atmosphere is really nice and service was quiet quick. HOWEVER, the price of the drinks compared to the quality that you get is really disappointing. I ordered a pina colada and it came in a plastic cup that looked like a childrens one and there was a cheap straw with a small pineapple piece stuck on the cup as if there was no care. This was £18. I understand this is located in a luxury hotel and that is why prices can be high, but you have to understand that just because it is located in a prestigious hotel it doesn’t make it ok to raise the prices whilst keeping the standards and quality very low. Don’t get me wrong I am all about spending high if it is worth it, but sadly this just wasn’t the place for it. They could’ve served the drink with way better presentation and taste too and I would’ve not complained but it just seemed like a child made it. Such a shame cause it’s in a beautiful hotel, located by the pool side, but that was the only part that let our experience a bit down during our stay at the Abaton. Avoid this place whilst...
