Elemes Cretan Cuisine — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

We had a nice table in the corner overlooking the beach which was a perfect setting for a lovely evening. As we were staying half-board at the Abaton we had a wide selection of dishes on the HB menu or a small supplement to order those that weren't. For the first course we ordered stuffed cabbage leaves (similar to dolmadis), and the spinach in filo pastry with green, cheese and pollen. Both fresh,nfull of flavour and delicious. For mains we opted for both dishes of the day, a homemade moussaka and lamb with artichoke and lemon sauce. The moussaka was by far the best I have ever tasted. The lamb was succulent and melted in the mouth and the artichoke added texture with finely sliced roasted potatoes.

For dessert we had a traditional orange pie with mandarin marmalade and kaimaki ice cream. It was incredible! The other choice was Galaktoboureko baked in a wood oven with goat milk, petimesi and bergamot ice cream - an inspired dish. Tasty, imaginative and very satisfying.

I had an amazing experience at this Greek restaurant! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The service was flawless everything came out on time and with a smile.

The food? Absolutely perfect. Every dish was full of authentic flavor, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the main courses and desserts, everything was delicious and clearly made with care.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole evening even more enjoyable. I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The desert wowwww the best

Love Elemes so much that we went twice during our stay on Crete! The food is superb, delicious authentic Cretan dishes elevated to a very high standard. The handmade meat pie as well as the Proventina sausage are wonderful ways to start. But Agni, Dimitrios, and Petros will guide you to make the best choices. Agni’s knowledge of wine is exceptional and both her choices are bottles we wanted a second of!! Dimitrios and Petros were super attentive and thoughtful.
