Okay me and my wife stayed at The Golden Beach Hotel for two weeks .. |And I truly canāt fault the hotel. Yes there is one or two tiny things that might be an issue for certain people.. Yes there is no air conditioning in the reception and the bathrooms are on the small size but itās amble size for what a person needs .. |Now the plus sides are the Staff that are truly amazing polite and totally helpful.. On arrival the receptionist sat us down for a lovely cold drink and went through everything with us .. The dining staff are incredible and are ambassadors to this Hotel .. The food is very good breakfast and dinner the choice is excellent the desserts are delicious.. There is a balcony which we managed to sit outside every time and have our breakfast and dinner on overlooking the ocean.. The rooms are nice and the very clean and the cleaning staff are lovely.. The room has a tea and coffee and the air conditioning which was quite and cold with a remote control..Beds are very comfortable and plenty of coat hangers .. The balcony was on the small size but adequate for two people to sit out and have a drink with a view of the ocean.. I recommend the full sea front rooms the view is fantastic and the ocean is about one hundred foot away .. There is no noise from the streets when the patio doors are shut .. |Right the thing that you need to be aware of if the sun loungers on the beach very comfortably quite close together.. But most cost 20 euro a day for a pair with an umbrella.. I would recommend walking to Meltemi beach which has a lovely beach and sun lounge still cost 10euro each but if you had enough of the beach walk up to the swimming area and bar and use there pool and sun lounge free .. Have a cold beer in a frozen plastic beer glass šā¦ |Overall hotel is very good staff are incredible.. I have read some of the other reviews on this hotel and find them off with rude staff which is not the case at all I guess if you are a rude person and disrespectful then expect the same.. Treat people like you wanting to be treated yourself goes along way.. Cretan people are lovely friendly help people.. If your lady wants to have a brilliant cocktail go to Shenanigans Hersonissos and Stavros is truly a mixologist and a great guy that will truly make the best cocktail in the area trust me we went every where to find a decent cocktail nobody or any bar comes close .. Well I hope this review...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe book a room for 3 ppl for one week. The room was clean, housekeeping came every day refreshing the towels and the coffe tray. We had breakfast and dinner included. Food was nice, good but not something that would amaze us. |2 days before our departure we asked for a late check out for 4 pm. Reception told us to confirm again our request one day before we were leaving and if they have availability will be approved. So we went again in the next day at the reception to confirm our request. Was a different man there and he told us to come after dinner because it was too early(went around breakfast time). We told him we book a sunset cruise so we would arrive back at the hotel after 9 pm and he said itās fine they will still be there. When we went in the night to confirm, again, the women told us they had no availability for the late check out, even if we asked from 2 night ago, because they were fully booked. She offered to switch to another room at 11 am when it was the normal check out and pay 60 euros. We said ok because our flight was late and we didnāt had a place to rest in the afternoon. We received room 119, first fooor where all we could hear were the chairs scratching the floor for 3 hours, noisy and with one bed for 3ppl. |The fact that they couldnāt told us they are fully booked from one day before, and at least to know we have to pack early and we cannot keep our first room was totally annoying. Coming back at 10 pm and starting to do our luggageās to move at 11 am next day to another room and to open them again to change our clothes and again to close them made our last day to be awful. First floor very small, room 119 was at the end of the corridor, noisy and a waste of money for a late check out that I couldnāt even rest for that money. Never again|They have a small swimming pool at the roof top and the beach is in the back of the hotel, water is full of stones and the beach is very small, you have to put a towel from morning to have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStayed here recently, have to say I had read some reviews beforehand , regarding small rooms/showers/ extra charges etc.. so was a little concerned, but it was fine. |My own personal experience, my room was spacious, modern bathroom with decent sized shower with both overhead shower and shower hose. Complimentary toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, soap and vanity pack (which contained 2 cotton wool pads, 2 cotton buds and an emery board) hairdryer in the bathroom was decent, and facing a big, well lit mirror, brilliant for us ladies doing our hair and make up.šMy private balcony overlooked a small square with trees.|Cleaning ladies very friendly, kept my room spotless and topped up towels, tea/coffee etc every day.|The staff are excellent, so helpful, very friendly and approachable.|Staff in dining room also friendly and helpful. Beware in the evenings, no free water available (donāt know if this is normal as Iām usually all inclusive, but half board this time) Water is ā¬3 a bottle, canāt comment on bar prices as I didnāt use the bar.|There is a private beach, it has sunloungers and umbrellas, I paid ā¬10 for the day, you can leave your towel and return when you like. Beach, beware š itās shingle, and tricky getting into the sea underfoot, fine if you have someone to help - I didnāt, and struggled to stand up!šš|My flight home was a late one, 10.40pm, checkout is 12. There is a luggage room to leave your bags, access to charging points for phone (mines always low!) and a shower room is available to freshen up, need to ask at reception and book a time, but I found this very handy. You also have full use of hotel facilities. I had a lovely stay and would certainly go there again. Safe in room is extra charge, and tourist/visitor whatever it is...
