Horrific experience!! On arrival to a fairly empty looking restaurant we were ‘greeted’ by a gentleman to which I asked for a table for two please. He asked if we had a reservation which we didn’t, bear in mind the restaurant had virtually every single table available and on their website there is no mention of reservation only or we would have happily booked.
After I replied that we didn’t have a reservation he frowned, ignored my partner and I and asked the next couple behind us if they had a reservation. Exceptionally rude and in no way acceptable to welcome a potential customer! At no point did he say excuse me a minute and we shall find you a seat or please wait one moment, quite literally ignored us and started talking to the couple behind us who arrived after us. At this point I knew we were not dining here however I let the situation play out. The couple he moved on to stated they did have a reservation for a sea view table to which he replied to them ‘I have a table for you however no sea view’ - I’ll again reinforce every single sea view table was unoccupied, there is easily 30-40 sea view tables. As I said we already knew we were not going to dine here after his crass and unacceptable introduction however I thought I’d let the experience of this horrific venue play out in the interest of a review.
This gent then walked off and another member of staff came over, asking if she could help us. I again stated we were looking for a table for 2, she asked if we had a reservation which I replied no, she frowned then stated we have no sea view seats (we hadn’t specifically asked for sea view seats to either member of staff) to which I replied well where would you seat us, she pointed to the table right next to the entrance. This venue must have at least 100-150 tables, 30-40 sea view tables, it was 8pm at night (peak time) and they had 2 tables occupied, the place was empty yet they were discouraging myself and even customers who had booked a sea view. At this point I brought this complete circus of an experience to a close, said no thanks to the waitress to which she scrambled and said let me speak to my manager to try get you a better seat, I replied please don’t bother.
I would highly discourage anyone from going near this venue. Completely unsurprising that it was very empty looking at a peak time. Horrific level of customer service and a place that I suspect won’t last too long with that level of treatment to potential customers. A good grasp of basic manners is required prior to running a business.
We went another 5 minute walk along the sea front to another venue who welcomed us with no reservation required and the food was...
Read moreI visited king Scorpio this evening for a nice meal out, as this was our last night in Crete. Me and my partner were very excited to try this place as we looked at their menu and was very impressed. The minute we walked into the restaurant I immediately had a bad energy. Never the less I wanted to give it a chance, our first round of drinks was lovely and I cannot complain. We had ordered the grilled octopus to start which tasted okay however was 15 euros for one little tentacle.I next ordered a glass of Prosecco which must have been opened several days ago as it was completely Flat. I brought this to the servers attention who brought over another glass. This glass was significantly fresher however was still flat. Our food arrived, my partners food was lovely and he enjoyed. My food was practically inedible the tempura prawns and squid were stone cold to the touch and were chewy. I ordered the seafood burger in which everything tasted bland, stale and that it had been prepared days before. I barely touched the food on my plate. The waiter didn’t even bother to ask if our food was alright after he saw I hadn’t ate my food. He lifted the plates and immediately brought our bill in silence. (I was charged for the flat Prosecco ) avoid this restaurant- awful food, ridiculously overpriced for the quality and poor service....
Read moreBeen here twice, first time was amazing was very happy with my meal which was the tomato sauce and basil spaghetti with garlic pizza bread. My boyfriend had the chicken skewers which were lovely however some parts were a tad dry. Service was good for a while until the server decided to say cheers big ears to my boyfriend which normally we would laugh at but as we had just met him we thought it was a bit inappropriate. Meal was a little bit pricier than other places but as we was happy with our meals and the sea view we went back. We was a little less impressed this time as we ordered a pizza with garlic bread and sweat potatoe chips. The meal was lovely apart from the garlic bread which this time round had been burnt underneath and spoilt the taste. Once we was ready to pay the server showed us the amount and what cost what. However, I noticed the garlic bread had an extra euro on it and along with the sweet potato fries which were 3 euro on the menu were now 7 euro. Bit confused we decided to politely mention it, in which he said 3 euros was for a side and we was given a big portion. I asked for a small portion which I pointed to on the menu when ordering which said 3 euro. Never the less we paid and went on our way. Just something to watch out for, but definitely somewhere I would...
