😊: 100% the place to stay in Folegandros!! Yiannis was absolutely incredible. I was solo travelling and became unexpectedly ill with nausea and dizziness for 24h and he brought me tea and toast and fruit and was prepared to take me to the doctor in town if needed. Luckily I recovered the next day but I will never forget his kindness and hospitality. I was also very comfortable in his presence, he has a very easygoing and kind nature which is rare.
Easy 5 min walk to Chora (the hill is fine) and the pool area and layout of the rooms are really lovely.
Beautiful location, rooms are nice and clean, bed was comfortable. I think the superior room was just the tiniest bit expensive compared to other 4* accom on other islands however this was peak high season so I understand. 😢: Having arrived late on the 10pm ferry from Athens I missed both lunch and dinner that day (a waste of amazing Greek food opportunities, do not recommend the ferry food haha). Would be great if there was a little cheese or snack platter available to purchase from the nearby restaurants to have on arrival.
Needs a kettle and tea/coffee in room please!!
Also you can hear your neighbours, unfortunately no soundproofing so you do hear things when they come home at 1am.
Doors, windows, locks all a little aged and very loud to open and close. Would like more modern quiet locks and not such a heavy key to carry around.
The bathroom layout and shower were a little strange, maybe a better shower for the room price if I am being picky. However I booked last minute in high season so understand I was paying a premium overall
Would absolutely...

However I am baffled by the good reviews regarding the owners. We felt like a major inconvenience. I have travelled around the world and have stayed at many hotels, to always be greeted with smiles and information about the city/island. At Miramare it was the most unpleasant welcome, no one greeted us with a smile, the front desk gave us no information about the island or hotel facilities or showed any sign of warmth. For the amount of money you are paying, the facilities and service are terrible.
Every morning the other staff members who were always around the area never smiled, or said good morning to us. It was always just a negative and uncomfortable look towards us. If anything, my partner and I always felt like we were not welcome. On top of the unpleasant welcome, my partner tried calling the hotel more than 5 times to organise transfer to the hotel, to only be hung up on every time the phone answered. When we finally got on to them and my partner asked why he was being hung up on, they ignored him and didn't even apologise.
Very cold, distant and disinterested people. Such a shame as the hotel is beautiful and we loved Folegandros, but we will not be staying here again or be recommending this place that made...
Read moreWe had a truly memorable stay at Hotel Miramare. What stood out most was the incredible hospitality of the two brothers and their lovely mother—they were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay as comfortable as possible. I love the Greek hospitality.||The location is amazing. Waking up every morning to those spectacular views over the Chora was an absolute treat. It’s the kind of view that stays with you long after you leave and I will never forget it.||The room itself was great—simple, clean, and comfortable. If I had to be picky, the shower could do with a small improvement, as it’s not a proper enclosed setup, but it’s a minor detail in a great space.||Breakfast was delicious. If they ever wanted to go the extra mile, adding a bit of fresh fruit, some traditional Greek pastries, and maybe a choice of eggs (omelette or fried rather than just boiled) would elevate the experience—but that’s just a small suggestion.||The pool is another highlight. It’s beautifully maintained and paired with the same stunning Chora view—it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.||We felt genuinely looked after, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it—or to come...
