Karkatsouli Beach — Attraction in Municipality of Kissamos

Nice small beach away from the huge and busy beach nearby.

Price is 15€ per two sun beds and umbrella - this is the highest I’ve seen compared to older reviews but I guess it’s still ok for the whole day.

Comfortable sun beds with thick mattresses and umbrellas.

There’s a small kiosk/snack bar a few meters away that’s part of the restaurant next to the parking above which is very convenient and they have a wide selection of drinks + very clean toilets.

Can leave to have lunch and still keep your beds so that’s nice as well.

Two changing rooms and showers at the back.

Nice clear water. Even when full, due to the small size, I imagine it will be ok.

Cons (small) umbrellas are quite low and keep bumping your head into it which can hurt at its metal to help keep it in place but everyone around kept hitting their heads after forgetting quite a steep slope to get to the beach. It is made of concrete so it’s better than nothing but not wheelchair friendly in my opinion and not easy if you have multiple...

Super beach, we've done 5/6 in Chania end of Crete and this one is the best by a long way in my opinion.

Ok it's also the most expensive for a drink and the beds @ €30 per set on the front row. But well well worth it!!

The sea is epic as you would expect, clean and safe. The best are comfortable and there is a drinks service if you want it.

All in all the best beach day we have had.

Beautiful beach, with just about everything one needs for an excellent day at the beach. Soft sand on the shore, crystal clean waters, some rocks on the sides for fun snorkeling or fishing. Has umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, lifeguards and a little bar closeby for drinks and snaks. The bar also takes orders on the beach.
