This opinion refers to the beach umbrella services only. We (four of us) got to the place at 17:46 and have been required to pay 60€ for the front row: our bad, we didn’t read. Before payment we asked if we had to pay (lots of places after 17:00 or 17:30 do not charge as they approach the off duty time). We’ve been answered by the lifeguard “sorry”. Clearly he did not mention that in 14 minutes the place would have been free of charge. When chatting with our Greek neighbours, we got hinted that we could have skipped the payment just waiting. We approached the lifeguard and he lied to us telling that our neighbours had paid, which was not true (we asked them). Feeling scammed we gently approached the person, who justified by saying that those were his friend (so they did not have to pay) and that we are “tourists”. Now, again, we should have been smarter and took off as soon as he asked the fare, but we feel that tourists, not even particularly those paying a high fare, should be treated well (in ten days here we have always been treated well), to get them to come back. The gentleman lost a good occasion to have a positive opinion, and we hope that the extra 60€ that he got with his behaviour will be repaid by karma soon. In the meantime, we suggest to those feeling as we do, to choose other services on that...
Read moreAbsolutely the best place where to have a fantastic dinner in Crete and in particular in Falassarna. Me and the wife have eaten several times in this wonderful family restaurant in the 10 days we have spent in Falassarna and I have tried different dishes. The food is 100% genuine and km 0 products , every dish is excellent, in particular the Cretan Salad is the best one ever eaten in Crete ( we took it always). Make sure also to try the lamb, because, even if I usually don't eat lamb meat, because I don't like it, there I really loved it since it was so soft, sweet and super tasty. Also the tzatziki is the best one ever tried and the owner - Stelios, who made us feeling special and really at home, became a friend of us , treated us as a part of the family and made our journey there the best ever had, was so kind to tell his secret receipt. Also the view it is lovely and there you can find the best spot for your romantic sundown. Thank you Stelios for everything and we hope to see you in...
Read moreTo be fair, this view is the reason for three stars. Otherwise, two. We were advised to come here. The food was bland.
the traditional melitzanosalata (aubergine dip) was pretty awful - it was a bunch of whipped mayo with some aubergine. I don’t know why mayo was in it.
the zucchini balls other people were praising here were nothing more than deep fried cheese with some zucchini and flower in the mix
the pork soulvaki were dry
the Cretan salad was bland - we ate about a hundred of these so we know what it supposed to taste like. The tomatoes were supermarket-bland, the cucumbers had no taste, the mizithra cheese not fresh.
What a disappointment. With these views they...
