My husband and I have both been coming to Greece every year for the past 25 years and stayed in countless wonderful rooms with great hosts, but this experience was, unfortunately, the worst we ever had. Fantasy is run by an Italian- Greek family.||We had booked a superior room at Fantasy Rooms for 6 nights from 24-30 September 2023 via booking.com and paid € 180.- per night including breakfast. Our credit card was fully charged in advance. Even on Milos standards this price is rather high in the shoulder season, but we did not mind as reviews were excellent. Among other, the booked room was advertised by the host to have an infinity pool (which we did not really care about as we prefer the beaches). Initially we received from the host via email a lot of information about Milos which we found friendly. They did not want to pick us up from the harbour which was a bit strange on island standards, but we had a car and were able to find the place ourselves. It is located some 10 mins. walk out of town in an area which looks a bit run down.||We arrived in hight spirits and anticipation.Upon arrival, the owner's son Elia received us very kindly and took us to a room in the main building. A few minutes later the owner, Mrs. Antonia showed up, calling her son "malaka" in Greek and why he gave us the wrong room. She then told us that our booked room was occupied. A few minutes later she summoned a worker who claimed that a pipe in the room was broken which was contradictory to what she had said before. Whatever, the booked room was not available. Mrs. Antonia then told us that she would "upgrade" us to one of her best luxury rooms in the backyard, an exclusive room for honeymooners. After 2 nights, she told us, we could move to a room in the main house. She probably has watched "White Lotus" where she got the idea to call a downgrade and upgrade to avoid that customers will reclaim money. The so-called luxury room was a dark, poorly equipped room in the back yard , next to the drive-in area and the container style reception, without any views. It rather looked like a converted storeroom or garage and was certainly not worth much more than 60% of the price we paid. The tiny patio was surrounded by walls which felt rather claustrophic. Whereas the bed and the bathroom were modern and good and there was some pretty traditional decor on the floor, there were no baggage racks, no kitchenette or sink, just a lonely fridge and a single waste paper basket without lid. Instead of a wardrobe or a clothes rack, there was a sort of open box next to the bed with a handful of clothes hangers, but it was too small to hang up a dress and made it difficult to reach even your bedside light (see picture). A single window next to the door did not allow air circulation, so the room was hot and stuffy and we had to switch on the icy air condition at night which is not nice. As we had no place at all to put our suitcases, we used the only small table to avoid throwing our things on the floor. The next day, we got a written warning from the owner telling us that this was forbidden and we should not do this again. As there were no luggage racks, they provided us with two cheap plastic chairs to put our suitcases (see picture). Breakfast was in a decent area near the small pool (certainly not an infinity pool), but very slow service and only a cardboard style ham and cheese toast. After 2 nights, we were allowed to leave the dark chamber and move to a nicer room, but by this time we had already enough, especially from the host's aggressive demeanour. So we decided to go back to our wonderful former accomodation on the other side of the island and only to stay at Fantasy the night before we flew out from Milos. As we already had paid for the full stay we kept the room, although we did not stay there. The Fantasy receptionist called us and asked if we would come back, so we told her that we only needed the room the night before leaving, but would keep it as we had paid for it. Next Mrs. Antonia cancelled our reservation on booking.com. We asked her for the reason to cancel and she could not give any reason. Instead, she pestered us with emails telling us niceties like "she was happy not to have more strange customers like us, otherwise she would have had a heart attack" (sic), that "Germans apparently had no wardrobes", "that we had insulted her about one of her best rooms". etc. etc. We still have all her emails. It could all have been solved if Mrs. Antonia would have simply apologized from the beginning. Errors are human, rooms can be overbooked. Instead, she obviously took us for a ride and was extremely rude. From our side, no recommendation...

I've been debating whether or not to post this review for a while, but I don't want anyone else to go through this. ||||We got married in fantasy rooms, and initially, it was a dream scenario because they let us use the premises for the event as long as we booked all of the hotel rooms for the duration. ||||When we first arrived, they had our dates wrong, and didn't have our room ready yet, and put us in a different room (luckily they had something available). Instead of profusely apologising, I got an earful about speaking to the hotel manager instead of the owner when we told them about the date changes. ||||And this is the room where I took all the photos. It was gross, there was sand in the corners, a stain on the bed, the toilet seat didn't cover the toilet properly, so I took photos and went to show the owner, and again instead of apologising she started blaming the cleaning lady for never listening to her and went on and on about how it is impossible for her to control everything. ||||And we got this attitude the entire time. I'm someone who can't stand confrontation and the owner is someone who loses their cool over little things, and she would start shouting and panicking. ||||Then because we had booked all of the rooms, there were endless issues with our guests' dates being put in wrong, or they charged them incorrectly, even though I had sent in a spreadsheet with everyone's names, what dates they would be there, and how much they were going to pay, and I still had to spend more than SIX HOURS with the owner, trying to explain basic math. ||||I even had to spend a few hours with her (until 2 am) THE NIGHT BEFORE OUR WEDDING!! Instead of making life easier for us, it made things so much more stressful. ||||On the last day, she went on about how disappointed she was in things some of the guests did while yelling at me even though I had nothing to do with any of these things, called one guest a b*tch, another one stupid, etc. ||||She treated us as though we were guests in her house. ||||And the cherry on top was that she admitted that she had to prioritise guests who booked through booking.com (we booked directly with her and all paid cash), because they could lower her reviews. ||||Honestly it was a nightmare of an experience, weddings are super stressful as they are and I definitely wouldn't recommend staying somewhere where the owner will lose it at you. ||||On the bright side, her son Elia was super sweet, the pool was nice, this hotel would do so well without the mom. ||||Not good value for...

we had the most wonderful stay at Fantasy rooms in Milos and plan to return next year.

Antonia, Michelle and Elia are the most accommodating, welcoming hosts and have created a truly magical and tranquil place.

watching the sunset over the olive garden or spending a relaxing day under the olive trees by the pool is just magnificent!

while the prices in the high season are rather expensive, these prices are a reflection of the concentration of tourism during the summer months, encouraging travellers without children to visit in May, June or September, which we are going to do next time!

the rooms are exactly like portrayed in the pictures and but the garden and pool area exceeded our expectations significantly! the rooms were clean and the bedsheets were changed after 2 days.

simple breakfast options are provided at an extra cost.

walking into town/to the port takes 10-15 mins. scooter rental options are close by. by scooter you can reach any place from Fantasy Rooms within 20-30 mins.

most of the other guests are couples and create a quiet environment. LGBT friendly, allowing us to not think about holding hands or kissing for once during our holiday in a rather conservative country like Greece.

as mentioned, planning to return...

My partner and I loved our stay at Fantasy Rooms. Just a 10-minute walk from town, it’s tucked into the hillside with lovely sea and nature views. The grounds are beautifully kept, dotted with sculptures by one of the owners, and the highlight for us was the peaceful saltwater pool shaded by olive trees, with comfy loungers. We stayed in the Queen room with balcony, thoughtfully styled, well-equipped (fridge, plates, glassware, cutlery), and featuring a huge part-shaded balcony with an outdoor sink and drying area. No safe, but the island feels very secure. Breakfast was a treat: fresh pastries, dakos, fruit, ham, cheese, yoghurt, coffee, and juice; all delicious and beautifully presented. The family who run Fantasy Rooms are wonderful, especially Ilia, who gave us great daily tips and great recommendations of places to hang and eat. There's also cutie cats, like Boo Boo. A bakery just five minutes away offers pastries, coffee (including Freddo Espresso), sweets, and essentials. There’s parking, and the bus stop to Plaka is only three minutes away. With Adamas as the main hub, day trips are easy. We wholeheartedly recommend Fantasy Rooms for couples or small groups.

We loved our stay at the Fantasy Rooms. This place is about 10 minutes walk from the center, at the edge of the town. The rooms were clean, water pressure was great, the fridge is a bit loud but we were so tired after the activities, we fell asleep pretty quickly. Elias and his family running this little hotel with love and great enthusiasm, I’d go back anytime. In fact it was hard to leave. The pool area definitely gives you the feels of a high end hotel. Time stops at the hotel, for the best. :) They gave us really good recommendations for the food and for the activities as well!
