This is an amazing hotel that fully deserves its high rating and comments. We will come back for definite. The manager and owner, Panaglotis is superb, leading from the front and always available. As per my other hotel stays, I will give quite a lot of detail below to help others understand more about the hotel. There’s a strong emphasis on family and great service here - we are huge fans and loved our 10 days here - the staff, facilities, rooms and location, all balanced with a fair price and value.
General areas The hotel lobby, breakfast/restaurant area and hotel room area called “main” is the heart of the operation. Two other areas are 30 metres along the path - sunset is a slightly longer walk (though they have buggy’s). It’s 2 mins walk & there are 4 staff that can run you around if needed. Each of the 3 areas has its own pool and bar; each has its own identity.
The lobby/reception and breakfast area are well decorated; the food at breakfast is fantastic something for everyone. Coffee, juice and cooked food. Lots of continental choices.
The reception in the lobby area can help with all requests and help with buses, trips and more. The drivers at the hotel also give complementary rides into Mykonos - which is a 10 minute walk downhill; after an evening out a taxi home is probably best it’s about €12-15.
The pools were all good and never an issue getting sun beds or help. Umbrellas too. The sunset pool has the best, stunning, views (my photos) and obviously the sunset BUT is the windiest and furthest from the lobby/cars etc. The daylight area, in my view, has the better pool bar and vibe. The main area is lovely, more compact but the best seating. Having the main hotel close is a bonus. Each person gets a beach/pool towel which is great
Staff The most important thing is how you are treated on holiday / vacation and the hotels treats everyone amazingly. Kind, helpful and generous with their help. Panaglotis runs things at the core and is a master at dealing with all types of customer - nothing is too much trouble. The drivers (2 main and 2 others) do airport runs and mostly into town, plus some golf cart trips for those that don’t want to walk the 2 mins to breakfast. The staff at breakfast, overseen by Panaglotis‘s lovely wife, are excellent too. Zero complaints and I can be a bit fussy! The cleaning team keep things in great shape and are very friendly. The guy at the pool area on the bar and delivering drinks/food and more was efficient and always around. He did tell me “no snacks (crisps/chips) or water of my own around the pool”. It’s the only thing I would suggest is loosened a bit by Panaglotis. I understand it’s good for the hotel to use their food and drinks and I guess - where do you draw the line on what hotels can and can’t bring. Not easy to figure out. I continued to take my own water, which wasn’t a problem at all, but was respectful of the rules on food and other drinks.
Room The rooms is each area and even with the area of choice have the same feeling - just different locations and layouts. Lovely decorated and fresh. Some for 2, 3 and families. Some rooms around the pool, others a little quieter. My pics show best the sunset area and rooms.
The rooms each have an outside seating area (or balcony - the daylight and main sections have more rooms with balconies - sunset is more low level (table and chairs); nice comfy beds and bathrooms. Robes, slippers and lovely bathroom products is a nice touch. Safe and just about enough storage for clothes etc. Kettle for tea/coffee; the small fridge is great to store soft drinks and beer in. Showers were great. Aircon a god send in the summer!!! It was good and cold as you want. I loved sitting out on the patio area as the sun came up.
Local area: the local area is good - you are close enough to walk to Mykonos but far enough to escape the bustle. There is a bakery, small supermarket, coffee shop, fruit shop and an ok Greek bbq restaurant within...
Read moreMy wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and we wanted to go someplace very special. We knew it would be Mykonos, but we had no idea where to stay. After a couple of days of research, my wife chose Aeolos Resort, based primarily on the excellent reviews.
We were picked up at the nearby airport by Kostas, who provided our first experience of the outstanding service that sets Aeolos apart. This is a family-owned place, not a big corporate property, and it shows in everything they do. Panos is the owner, and he personally welcomed us warmly on our arrival. He grew up on the property, took over from his dad, expanded the property, and enhanced the business in every dimension. This is what a family business should be.
We booked a room online in the daylight wing – which was lovely – but Panos informed us that they had a couple of unsold rooms, so he upgraded us to the Sunset Wing, where we had a beautiful room on the second floor, with a terrace overlooking the equally beautiful Sunset pool area. The Sunset wing is another 5-minute walk along the property and well worth it. The pool is immaculately clean, they provide live music each evening at sunset, and George does a great job manning the bar and taking good care of all guests. A very chill vibe. For the record, there are three beautiful pools, one for each cluster of rooms. The room itself was basic and comfortable, sparkling clean, well-maintained, with a very comfortable bed, wifi, and good air conditioning. We spent little time in the room so didn’t need a luxurious suite.
Breakfast was included in our rate and it did not disappoint. They put out a huge buffet each morning. There is something for everybody, no matter your dietary preference or restrictions. The hotel restaurant is bright and clean, and unsurprisingly, provides exceptional service. The tables are cleared seemingly every minute.
The location is perfect for what we wanted: a 0.6 mile, 15-minute walk downhill to Hora the historic and beautiful port town of Mykonos. It’s an easy walk down but we recommend taking either the bus (Ano Mera route) or a taxi back. The bus stop is directly across the street from the resort.
In summary, what a gem! You can spend much more per night at some fancy beach club – but why? We knew we would not spend more than one day lying on the beach so why optimize for that. We did visit Paradise Beach and did some scuba diving with the Mykonos Dive center there (also recommended, it’s a 15-20 minute taxi ride)
Please stay at the Aeolos – you not only won’t regret it – you will cherish the place, as we did. We...

I want to preface this review by mentioning that my friend and I are active 24 year old's. For location, this was the BEST option to mykonos town because it was not directly in mykonos town. We went the first week of May and there was no noise, but if you are someone that does not plan on partying in mykonos town, it might not be the best decision to stay there in peak season. I don't think most people realize what mykonos town is. Imagine a cave full of hotels, stores, restaurants, and bars on top of each other. So your hotel can be directly on top of a bar or right next to a shop. It can get busy and noisy. For people that cannot make the walk up from mykonos town to the resort, I think it is best to stay in mykonos town regardless of noise. The amount of money you spend on a ride back up can be costly. Walking down to the town was not bad. For us being active, it was a hilly walk back up, but we would do it again.
Rooms
We were actually upgraded to the villas, but we saw both regular rooms and the villa. Both were beautiful, but the villa was more modern. We enjoyed the balcony and watching the sunset. We also enjoyed how close the pool and jacuzzi were.
Service
I was shocked to be treated so well by the hotel staff. As black people, we always have to question if we are picking a safe country or area when traveling. The people of Greece treat everyone with love and respect. The hotel staff treated us like family. We were so thankful. Every second, they wanted to accommodate us in every way possible. If I return to Mykonos, I will 100000% be returning to Aeolos.
The only thing I would like to mention is payment processing. I lost my card so the initial payment for the resort did not go through as I ordered a new one. They handled it so nicely and let me pay upon arrival. However, it took 2 weeks after we left for the payment to be charged. My friend also had the same issue. We had dinner at the resort (which was delicious) and his card was charged that night. We have different banks (Wells fargo and bank of america) and he was also charged 2 weeks later. We have good jobs, so it did not hurt us, but imagine if we did not have that amount of money in our accounts. Maybe this happens sometimes, but I've traveled to so many countries and I've been charged within the week at least. Everything else we spent money on in Greece was deducted the same day or next from our account. Again, not an issue, just something to help the staff or people that don't have the...
