Katerina View — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

This was one of the worst travel experiences we've ever had, despite visiting Greece many times over the years.

The listing is completely misleading. It says the villa is a 20-minute walk to Mykonos town, but it’s a steep downhill hike there and an exhausting uphill climb back—not ideal, especially if you’re pregnant, like I was. Transportation from the villa to the main area of Mykonos is around 40 euros/one way.

The villa overlooks a dusty parking lot, and the road to it is just a dirt path. Getting there involves crossing a busy street with no sidewalk or crosswalks.

Inside, there’s no soundproofing at all. We could hear everything from the neighboring rooms, and the water system made loud mechanical noises every time someone used it. Sleeping was nearly impossible.

There was also no working Wi-Fi, even though it was advertised. Like no at all. Since the location is remote, we had no mobile data either. We were completely cut off. Reaching out for help went nowhere—the owner stopped replying once we mentioned the issue, and we got no support.

This place looks nothing like it does online. It’s remote, noisy, dusty, and not cared for. The lack of honesty and help from the owner made it all much worse.

Although the accommodation was spacious, the reason you're in Mykonos is to stroll the town and enjoy one of the beaches. I'm a runner, so walking is not the issue; the issue is that this property is way too far from the town, from the bus station and from beaches, which means you'll spend way to much time and money getting to where you want to go, and less time enjoying this beautiful, vibrant area. Also, sorry to say, but this property sure did not look like this photo! I've never done this before, but after we checked in and realized how cumbersome this location would be, we moved to another accommodation (same cost!) in Mykonos Center and had a great experience. I faced an unexpected situation where my passport was lost during the visa process. I immediately informed the hotel, provided official documentation, and politely asked for support. Instead of showing any understanding, they ignored my messages, refused to respond properly, and even spoke to me very rudely on the phone.

In the end, they kept the full amount of my reservation without offering any solution, refund, or even the option to reschedule.

This is not the level of hospitality one expects when choosing a hotel in Mykonos. Such a lack of empathy and professionalism was truly disappointing. I strongly advise future guests to think twice before...
