Firstly staff did not arrange transport for us from the ferry port as agreed in advance despite the fact I had informed the hotel we were travelling with a disabled child.||||We also confirmed everything with the hotel again 24 hours prior to arriving.||||Ofter booking a taxi to take us to the apartments, I asked the lady in reception why transport hadnt collected us(the owners daughter ) she informed me she had no idea why a taxi she booked didnt arrive? Odd considering she had said a company mini bus with the hotel logo on would collect us.( we never saw such a company bus the whole time we were there)||||We booked a family apartment but were shown to a dark dungeon type room with a view over looking over grown weeds and told no other rooms were available for at least 5 days, after stating we would leave we were given a modern room for 3 days before finally moving to the room we booked.||||The room was bigger however the so called kitchen resembled something you would expect the girl guides to use on a camping trip, old run down tatty equiptment and furniture, old fashioned TV , a wetroom type shower, the kitchen looked like it would fall apart, the fridge was awful, useless for cooking, no kettel or microwave, we didnt even try to use it, preferring instead to eat out.||||(The greek restaurant with the blue logo and chairs is amazing, if your lucky enough to get a table, people queue to get in, blue greece flag flying from the restaurant front) ||||The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard every day incuding bedding and towels changed , the maids were lovely always smiling despite being constantly harrassed by the female owner " you got the impression the owner is an ogre who is bad to work for there was a distinct change in atmosphere when she appeared the cleaners looked terrified" she never once spoke to the maids nicely or even said hello, the only time she aknowledged them was when she was barking orders, shameful behaviour manners and courtesy are surely something we all expect regardless of our employment status||||.(Im an ex sales and marketing director the type that does not perceive herself as a member of the heirachy)||||We were asked to pay cash in exchange for a 20% discount opposed to paying by card, other UK tourists staying at IOANNA were asked to do the same.||||On our last day, the owners younger daughter came running after us as we going out for our evening meal, she though we were leaving rather odd since we had no luggage with us unless you include my messenger bag as luggage!||||We were informed there had been a mistake with our bill and we now needed to pay an extra £150E??? We had already paid the full amount in cash, when I asked to speak with the older daughter who had taken the cash we were informed she gone to Athens? Again odd as that would mean catching a ferry?||||To get to the point I spent over 2 hours "heated debate with the owner (female ogre) who then said "you,ve had a bigger room and you have stayed over two weeks"? I booked a family room for 18 days so why are these comments relevant,? It soon became clear this was a scam that had been used previously on other tourists.||||Due to the duress and how everything was impacting on our disabled son we decided to pay, initially I insisted I pay the extra by card( " not acceptable apparently maybe for tax evasion reasons"?)||||The pool is freezing cold," the breakfast buffet looks like something you hand out to the homeless "" stale bread, wilting cheese and sticky ham slices which seem to have been defrosted, hard bolied eggs and jam.||||Good location 5 minutes from bars, taverns, the beach, the owners sister owns the hotel opposite which looks nicer, however no swimming for children when the family have their siesta. Nice pool shame your not allowed to use it in the 18 days we spent there we saw people swimming in the pool opposite less than a dozen times.|||| Nothing to do at the hotel, no bar, no music, no restaurant. Any more laid back you would be in a self induced coma, if you like solitude , bad food and service this place is for you, if not forget it.||||If we visit Naxos again we most certainly will not stay here, there are far better hotels than Ioanna, Im appalled by the treatment we received , poor unprofessional service, extortion with the extra fees , taking advantage of a family with a child with disabiliites in terms of not collecting us as promised and the duress placed on us prior to leaving, avoid this hotel at all costs.||||Such a shame this awful experience occured we really enjoyed our...
Read moreWe arrived here expecting transport via the hotel to collect us from the port this had been arranged in advanced and confirmed just prior to us setting off from the UK.||||When we finally arrived at the hotel the lady on reception(owners daughter) told me she had booked a taxi which had failed to collect us, we were allocated a room which resembled a dark dungeon the room was small and dated, the kitchen part looked like a closet with a child like hob installed, the view from the only window/door in the room overlooked overgrown wasteland. ||||The next day I informed reception we couldnt stay in the room , we were then allocated a better room which still wasnt suitable, I was then informed if we could wait for 5 days we could have a family room, we were also told if we paid cash the upgrade would be free and we would also be given a substsantial discount, we decided to go with the option and use the hotel as a base to explore the island.||||We paid the fee in cash, the day before we were due to leave we were told the owner wanted to see us as she didnt feel we had paid in full ,apparently her daughter who asked for cash hadnt kept her updated , to get to the point we were told unless we paid 150 Euro we would be charged the full rate for upgrading to a family room, the lady owner was rude and condescending informing me were had been given the use of a family room for paying cash and had stayed at the hotel for over two weeks in a larger room we should pay extra as she knew nothing about the arrangement , I stated I wanted the cash back I had paid and would pay the full amount by debit card at this point the conversation became heated with thevowner wavibg her hands at me demanding more money, her other daughter ran outvif tge complex after me even though I had stated I was going to the shop and would need to get money from the cash dispenser, the whole experience was totally inappropriate and unacceptable, causing uneccessary anxiety and ill feeling on the final day of our holiday OUTRAGEOUS., the upgaraded family room is a dated hovel with inadequate facilities, the hib is more like a camping stove, the fridge droppoibg apart, no iron or ironong board as advertised, no kettle, the apartments were cleaned daily as was thevpool area, the only positives were the cleaning ladys who were lovely , the family seem to be re lated to the owner of the hotel facing them , we would not stay here again, the pool was colder than the sea, no atmosphere or entertainment, poor wifi, the breakfast room is reception area or a table set out near the pool breakfast consisted of bread and jam, hard boiled eggs, we didnt eat here as we could see what was being served, there are much better apartments thtoughout the area who provide a better service, the location is good for shops the restaurants and beach. You can only change money over at the local travel agent the rates are not great or in Naxos town at the bank you will need yoyr passport if you choose this option rates are poor, better to change your...
Read moreWe had booked to stay in this hotel for 6 nights during the first week of July. However, upon arrival, we realized that the room was inadequate, very old/ basic amenities and with a tiny bathroom. We had no balcony and there were quite a few stairs leading up to the room. As we were travelling with our two very young children and thus 2 strollers, it was very difficult to navigate around the aparment complex which was small anyway. So after the first night, we decided to leave..||||The next morning I went to the supposed 'breakfast room' which was really just the reception area with some bread and jam on a table, and I told the owner (I think she was the owner's daughter) that we were leaving and she went crazy! She started yelling at me and telling me that I should pay for at least half the nights and that if I don't she will call the Police! MInd you, I had my 10 month old baby in my arms..||||I told her that I will let my husband deal with her and went to grab a piece of bread for my 2 year and she told me to put it down!! I said 'but you told me that the room comes with breakfast' to which she replied 'yes, and you told me that you would stay for 6 nights'!! I couldn't...
