We booked last minute for the convenience of the location. 1)We booked a cheap room, to be told when we arrived it was the basement, not mentioned in the ad on booking.com...for another ten euros a night, we were given a room with a window. 2) We asked for blankets after the first night, three days later, still no blankets. 3) we wanted to pay with credit card. The man that had been working there, the entire time, pretended to not know how the credit card machine worked. I offered to run the credit card thru, as I work with the exact same machine at a shop in Greece. He did not allow me to do it, but rather punched in the dates of our stay, which is not information required for this machine. He bumbled about, playing stupid merely so that we would pay in cash rather than by credit card. It was an insult to our intelligence. It left a bad taste for the trip...after a half an hour of his ridiculous antics, we paid cash..he could have saved us time and aggravation if he had just said he wanted the cash. It was extremely aggravating and I would never...
Read moreFirst time we've stayed at the Lygdamis Hotel, though we've stayed in Naxos 6 times now, normally just together as a male gay couple, though this time we travelled with a parent.||||The Lygdamis is a perfectly located hotel only 1 minute walk from the main port front, it has lovely facilities including the best beds I've ever slept in in a hotel and a lovely roof top terrace with stunning views. Our room also had a balcony with a sea view.||||A beautifully clean room and beds, beautiful linen and towels, a great shower, all facilities working well including good Wi-Fi, TV, fridge with good ice box.||||We wanted for nothing and the owners were so lovely and friendly and the hotel felt and was perfectly safe and secure.||||Would definitely return to the Lygdamis, next time we are on the island. Thank you to John and Evi for helping make out stay so...
Read moreThe hosts, Evi and Mr. Ioannis, were absolutely phenomenal, extremely friendly and helpful - you would feel like home! Our little one befriended them right away and even scored a present from Evi. Communication with Evi was very good at all times. At arrival she gave us a detailed information into how to explore and enjoy Naxos from a local perspective. Few times at returning to our room we would find a nice surprise in the fridge: a big plate of fresh fruits from Mr. Ioannis. We were given the very room we asked for at the time of booking. It was exactly as described and it met all our expectations: nice, simple and very clean. Watching sunsets from the rooftop terrace was amazing. Location is perfect: a short walk to both beach and old town. All in one, a very nice experience. Highly...
