A GEM and a must if you are coming to Naxos. Fish is wild caught- 100% authentic wild caught. Many Greek taverna owners claim this but it’s not true. We started with the fish soup which is puréed and so flavorful and peppery! We then had a fresh crisp mixed greens salad with pomegranate seeds, pine nuts, walnuts, and a lovely Greek cheese that was very thinly sliced and placed on top. We tried 3 of the fish. Red mullet (guaranteed to be the best you’ve eaten) that was VERY crispy and lightly fried with a moist interior. We then had the grouper- I thought it was swordfish because it was sliced in that style but it was moist flavorful and very very good. And finally we had the porgy aka dorado. Fresh, delicately flavored and perfectly grilled. Every platter has a little tureen of olive oil and lemon mixed together but not separating and a side of beautifully steamed fresh young vegetables consisting of baby zucchini, carrots and broccoli with a light dressing of olive oil and salt. The owner treated us to a special dessert of yogurt and wild honey with apples and cherries. The honey was thick and aromatic and the yogurt thick. The cherries big and sweet. This entire meal for 4 people which left us stuffed to the gills was 250€ (includes over 2 kilos of fish, 2 beers and 2 large waters). Well worth the price! We...

Book a table if you’d like to enjoy the best meal possible in Naxos! We waited for our table for 15min (without reservation), and I am so glad that we did.
I would like to start by thanking the entire staff for such a wonderful evening. We were welcomed by the most charming waiters. They were all smiling, extremely helpful, lovely and just everything that made the evening the best I’ve had in Naxos, so thank you to all of you.
The food was incredible. We were recommended the fish soup as dish of the day and it turned out so flavourful. We guessed potatoes and fava beans but it was actually a mix of fresh vegetables and incredible seasoning. The whole accompanied by a Naxos Salad: de-li-cious. The vegetables like nowhere else to be found and the cheese is soft and creamy.
We moved on with the main dishes where we had some fresh fish and pasta. Was very filling so please do come with a huge appetite as you cannot finish your dishes if not hungry. Sadly the spaghetti with fresh fish was too sweet to my taste, but the rest was once again delicious.
My family and I had an incredible night and really enjoyed it all. If we could we’d give the restaurant 1076528 stars.
Thank you so so much and 100%...
Read moreTucked away on a charming cobblestone alley just a few steps off the main boardwalk of Chora, Naxos, Sarris Fish is a culinary treasure that feels both off-the-beaten-path and perfectly central. This unassuming little tavern delivers a quintessential Greek seafood experience that’s as authentic as it is unforgettable.
One of the standout features at Sarris is the ability to choose your own catch of the day, displayed fresh on ice, ready to be grilled or fried to your preference. The preparation is simple but masterful—each fish is cooked to tender, flaky perfection, delicately sweet and balanced by a drizzle of house-infused olive oil. The fish is typically accompanied by a side of steamed vegetables, subtly seasoned to complement rather than compete, allowing the freshness of the ingredients to shine.
Don’t overlook the soup of the day—usually a creamy seafood soup that, while modest in appearance, packs an unexpectedly rich and comforting flavor. It’s the kind of dish that surprises you with its depth, warming both body and soul.
Sarris Fish is a true gem—humble, heartfelt, and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re a seafood connoisseur or just looking for a quiet, memorable meal in Naxos, this tavern...
