Blue Lagoon — Hotel in Municipality of Northern Corfu

We read the reviews before arriving and they were very mixed. The photos are dated as I'm sure we stayed in the room featured on the listing for this property and it's got a big tree in front of the balcony these days.||We got a last minute cheap holiday and we got what we paid for.||Rooms are extremely clean and practical. Kettle sandwich toaster and hot plate if you fancied cooking along with a small fridge.||Bathroom was good although showers are a bit narrow but again clean and serviceable.||We asked for extra pillows as there is only one per person. We had to ask for a different mattress as the one in the end was so hard. BUT if you don't ask you don't get! ||The staff are lovely !!!!! Nothing is too much trouble and if they can help they will.||The pool and surrounding area is gorgeous and beautifully kept.||The overall complex is neglected which is a shame as I'm sure in its heyday it would have been spectacular.||It is situated on a busy main road. Turn right takes you to Roda Beach with bars and restaurants. Turn left and there is a supermarket and other bars and restaurants.||If you go out the back of the hotel in the far right hand corner there is a footpath that takes you down to the beach without having to walk on the busy main road.||It isn't lit so take a torch for your walk back. We didn't need one as there was enough ambient light to walk back safely but if you're not sure then err on the side of caution.||There is a lot of mosquitos in Corfu. We took a plug in diffuser and it worked ok for us. You just need to be aware and take precautions.||Overall a really lovely stay. If you do book just be realistic on what to expect instead of putting up negative reviews instead of managing your own...

Cannot explain how much I do not recommend to anyone, not even wild animals. For starters the air conditioning was broken, we had no clean towels for the 4 nights we were there, there were probably about 300 mosquitoes residing in there and as well as the sink plug continuously getting blocked; a week after I got home I started coming up in random bites. Was told that they look like bed bugs and because they looked so bad, to go to the walk in clinic. There’s no reception to check in or out, you just have to time it correctly to find the owner chilling outside her place to get the key. We ended up leaving the key on a table outside her place when we checked out because she had disappeared. I don’t know how this place is even legal, it needs to be shut down or fumigated with a flame thrower. Absolutely vile and I’m in so much pain from these bites I’ve acquired. Do not stay here for the life of you. (Also no Wifi as stated). Going to be contacting the travel company we booked...

Ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia in questa struttura per due settimane. Purtroppo già al nostro arrivo ci siamo resi subito conto che le struttura non era esattamentente come le foto viste prima di prenotare e mancava di alcuni dei servizi pubblicizzati. Alcune parti del residenze sono in evidente decadenza e meriterebbero una bella ristrutturazione. Ci sono alcuni appartamenti che sono adiacenti la piscina che hanno addirittura il tetto quasi del tutto crollato ed il perimetro ormai avvolto dalla vegetazione. La struttura che si affaccia sulla piscina alla quale si accede con degli scalini sporchi e mal messi, è in totale stato di abbandono, compreso il bel forno a legna e le sedute in pietra. Ci sono erbacce ovunque compresi dei sacchi della spazzatura abbandonati chissà da quanto tempo. Già l'ingresso del residence è poco accogliente. Non c'è nessuna insegna ed illuminazione a ricordare che sulla strada c'è una struttura turistica . Il parcheggio è completamente abbandonato e la vegetazione ed i rovi che ormai hanno avvolto la facciata della struttura, raggiungono il marciapiede deve si parcheggia. Ovviamente le zanzare e gli insetti la fanno da padrone. Il corridoio che portava alla nostra stanza, esattamente dietro qeuso muro avvolta dalle piante, odorava di muffa! Compresa la nilostra stanza! Avevamo a disposizione una bella stanza, una maisonette a due piani! Peccato che l'odore della muffa era ovunque, compresa negli armadi. La stanza era sporca al nostro arrivo! C'era polvere sull'armadio, sulla rampa delle scale, sporcizia sui binari delle finestre! La cosa peggiore!? I cuscini erano macchiato di muffa e di aloni gialli. I materassi non perfettamente puliti! In cucina c'erano solo una pentola ed una padella con coperchio, i piatti e le posate, un bollitore ed un piastra per i toast! A quel punto ho chiamato l'operatore con cui avevo prenotato lamentandomi della scarsa igiene e pulizia della stanza ed inviando anche foto. Mi hanno cambiato i cuscini e pulita in parte la stanza, alcune parti le ho pulite io! Sicuramente la piscina merita un bel Voto! È grande e pulita e sicuramente permette ai bimbi più piccoli di divertirsi! Non c'è nessun bar in piscina ormai chiuso e dismesso chissà da quanto tempo è non c'è nessun ristorante. C'è una cucina funzionante che ho visto utilizzare da Romeo che è il tutto fare della struttura. Le agenzie di viaggio compresi i siti online continuano scorrettamente a pubblicizzare la presenza di servizi che in realtà sono chiusi e dismessi e non descrivono lo stato di abbandono di una parte della struttura. Proprio per questi motivi non sento di consigliare questa struttura. Un pensiero positivo va alla gentilezza di Romeo che è il tutto fare dal residence ma non è sufficiente a chiudere un occhi di fronte a tali mancanze! L'igiene non...
