We have just returned from a week here and we have never been so mislead by reviews!! The only reason we have scored it one star is because the bed was comfortable and we had a private balcony. We arrived in the afternoon but as the cleaner was in our apartment, we went for a much needed cold drink. On returning to the apartment we discovered lots of items missing from the apartment that we expected. Such as, a coffee machine, which I'd specifically requested by email, a hair dryer, hangers in the wardrobe, wine glasses and worst of all, the floor in the living area was filthy. So we went and found the owner, Dimitrios. He said there wasn't a coffee machine, he brought me some hangers and a hair dryer a couple of days later and fetched us some wine glasses from the closed restaurant next door. We're not particularly picky about wine glasses but there were no glasses apart from large bulky glasses not suitable at all. But when we asked him about the dirty floor, he came to have a look and was very offended. He insisted the floor was clean. In the end he stormed off and my husband cleaned the floor with washing up liquid using the mop that lived outside our door. The website I booked through stated that all the rooms had air con and flatscreen TVs. LOL The absence of a TV and no air con remote were the least of our worries.. Apart from the bathroom being an uncomfortable obstacle course. We had no hot water! Not wanted to deal with D again, we managed for a few days with cold because it was rather warm weather anyway. When I needed to wash my hair, we went to see D again. Again, he insisted on coming to have a look. He ran the hot water tap, nothing came out as we'd said. Instead of apologizing and explaining to us what the issue was, he just said that there is water and that it must be an external problem. It still left us with no hot water!! He just left. The most infuriating thing about it was that he never took any responsibility for anything that went wrong! Call me picky, but I expect to have running water when i go on holiday!! Overall, the whole experience with the apartment was upsetting me so much that I looked at alternative accommodation. But my husband convinced me to ride it out. Also, although we had a nice private balcony on the top floor, as I'd requested. There was not outdoor furniture on it. We used the chairs from the dining table but we didn't have a table out there to put anything on. On our penultimate day we were having a rink on our balcony and D came round mithering us. He insisted we have a couple of bottles of beer. I think he might have been worried about this review. Too little too late, I thought. The towels were only changed once during our week and the apartment was supposed to be cleaned every other day but as we were due to leave on the Sunday, they didn't bother coming on the Saturday, when they were due. As you don't put toilet paper in the toilets in Corfu, our bins were definitely ready for an empty every 2 days! This was the furthest apartment on the top floor. So I can't speak for any other the other apartments. Overall, Sidhari was ok. It's not somewhere we'd go back to, but we had a hire car so saw a lot...
Read moreMe and my husband stay in twin apartment for a week in September. We’re arriving at midnight after delayed flight and were taken to the room by a waiter from owners restaurant which is 30 seconds walk from the apartment. He was the nicest and the most helpful person there. All the stuff really friendly. He even kept the place open so we can have a quick food and beer. Apartment was rather clean and with full equipment kitchen. All plates, glasses and forks were there. Mini oven with electric hops. Those didn’t work but we used an oven to make our breakfasts. Air condition was the newest in there and working very good. Bathroom needs redecorating. Shower was in the worst state. Fine to use but hot water was hit and miss. Especially in the morning. Luckily weather was lovely and hot so I didn’t mind cooler shower sometimes. Cleaner comes every other day to change bins. Only attempted to clean once when changing bedding and towels. Didn’t touch bathroom at all. Be prepared it will not be cleaned while you stay there. Even toilet rolls have to buy yourself. Nice balcony with the sea view was our favourite. Had drinks there every late night. All the pictures on booking I’ve seen before deciding were I assume from the big studio which is much nicer. We booked to pay at the stay but our money got reserved and taken at the time. Owner emailed us and we gave him a call. He said he needed the money. Charged us the price which was for pay now option and promised discount in the family restaurant. We never got is but to be fair to him when we went for two coffees we didn’t pay for it. Place is situated in the perfect spot. Loved the fact everything was close. There are mini markets and restaurants on the street. Very overpriced so one day while we got a bike to go to the Corfu town on the way back did some shopping in Lidl. It will save you a lot. Owner seems helpful and polite to talk to but when bulb in our room went in the afternoon the day before we were going he said he can’t do anything about that because markets are already closed....Come prepared for mosquitos. So many of them and when on the balcony I almost got eaten alive. There is no devices in the apartment to stop them getting in. All in all it is about the Sidari and canal de amour. That’s what you paying for staying in the natural blue apartments. Don’t expect much...
Read moreTerrible experience — this is not a real hotel but just a two-story apartment building. There’s no entrance, lobby, or hallway; your room door opens directly to the street (check on Google Maps Street View). Security is a serious concern: anyone could easily step onto your balcony or into your room if the door isn’t locked. The photos online looked appealing, but in reality the rooms are decorated with cheap plastic furnishings that serve little purpose. Cleanliness was unacceptable — there was hair (possibly pubic hair) under bed sheets upon our arrival. We didn't see any housekeeper, which makes it even less like a proper hotel or retreat. The location is also disappointing. It’s set behind other beachfront hotels, you are in the middle of a road leading to the beach. To reach the port area, bars, or shops, which are in the other side of the village, you need to walk 20–30 minutes. Meanwhile, many people pass by in front of the property, which makes the place even more unsafe. Finally, the owner’s attitude is extremely unwelcoming. Rather than feeling like a guest, we felt intimidated and pressured to obey arbitrary rules. For all these reasons, we give this place the lowest rating possible and strongly advise against...
