My room was nice and well equipped. It was nice to find there was a travel kettle in the room as well as a fridge. Because the shower tray was quite small the curtain tended to get wrapped around you a bit but at least the floor didn't get too wet . The only thing that I didn't like was that I had requested a sunny balcony and mine didn't get any sun at all except for a little while before it disappeared behind the mountains. This was a pool view room - ones facing the other way would be much better. Also the strong wind was blowing onto that side and it was too cold to sit on the balcony most evenings.||The gardens and pool area are really nice. There were quite a few sunbeds and the pool area was very sheltered from the wind (the pool, like most hotel pools, was freezing though) The bar/restaurant terrace was nice too but that could be very windy.||It was a few minutes walk from both the village centre and the port area but the beach was less than five minutes walk down a lane opposite. Unfortunately the sea was too rough to be able to bathe. I don't know if it is always like this. It was handy that there was a small Carrefour opposite and there was another supermarket about 100 yards to the right.||Breakfast was very good and everything was replenished very efficiently by the nice girl who seems to do every job from receptionist to waitress. It was good that the hotel sold food at reasonable prices and the local wine was cheap. It was better if it was warm enough to eat on the terrace because the dining room was rather lacking in atmosphere.||Kolymbari village centre wasn't particularly nice but the port area was very nice. There are lots of restaurants but not much else but the buses along to other resorts and Chania stop right outside the hotel.||I think everyone but me was Scandinavian or Finnish.||Overall, a very good hotel...
Read moreWe have been here since Saturday night. We arrived very late, so the owner opened the kitchen and served us with pizza and red wine. I must say that after reading so many negative reviews on the net. We were apprehensive! We arrived to a newly painted, decorated hotel. Everything is spotless including the pool and garden. Nothing is too much for the staff who are very helpful. Our room is a good size for two people and we have a nice sea view on the pool facing side. On this side there's no sun on the balcony until late afternoon. But it's a godsend as it's also nice when a breeze blows. The beds are a little hard, but for someone like me with back problems, it's no problem. We've had no problems with the bathroom either. There's a super market and buss stop over the road and the village is 1km away. I would recommend this hotelas I'm a seasoned traveller with many years experience. This hotel gives...
Read moreWe were in Nereides in October 2017, this was unforgetable stay! The owners are simply adrorable, caring, you can relax and feel like on real vacations. The dinners were unexpectedly great as for a 3 star hotel in a very small price, compared to local restaurants which served food probably on a worse level. The food was every day different and this was real Greek food tasting with their own wine served to in. Wonderful. The hotel has everything you need and altough the rooms maybe are not too big but they have balcony's with view on the pool and mountains and sea and are very clean. The town is also very nice with freindly people and one of a kind Monastery which you should just see even if you dont stay there. I truely reccomend this place conducted buy...
