We visited them and at first the old couple seemed very friendly. There were no menus and the lady there told us what they had. Greek salad, tzatziki and fish. We asked if they had any meat and she said that they had souvlakia and when we said we wanted souvlakia she pushed us to get the fish since it would be 14€ per person. We decided to get a salad, tzatziki and 2 souvlakia, a water and a beer. We got everything but the souvlakia fast and while we were eating the old couple sat near us and started talking to us which we didn't want or like. Then the souvlakia came, and the lady told us that they were big, but you can find the same anywhere and cheaper. The souvlakia were served with very few french fries. While we were eating the old man came to our table and almost touched our food to show us the "correct way" to eat the souvlakia. Another thing that happened and shouldn't was that the old lady told us repeatedly that they didn't have internet connection and therefore cannot give us a receipt. She was very verbal about it and after a few times she said it we started to believe that she was lying. When we got to pay she charged us 10€ for each souvlaki which was way overpriced and the total amount was 36€. I wouldn't recommend anyone...
Read moreA family restaurant ran by two lovely elderly people. They lured us in with kind words and a friendly attitude. There were no menus, so we went with two of the three options that she told us, fish and greek salad. This was the first mistake, we didn't ask for prices. Wine was homemade, quite good and a fair-ish price all things considered. The greek salad was slightly expensive but not too bad. The fish though, was the real blow. It was 20 euros for a medium sized portion. Some other reviews said it was 15 so this may be a made up price since they only present it with the check. The fish was quite good, but not worth the price. It was the most expensive meal we had so far.
Another weird thing that we saw is that there was another couple in the restaurant besides us and the elder owners decided to sit with them thus offering little intimacy. This could've been with their accord though, but it's worth mentioning they are quite intrusive (friendly and funny attitude though).
In the end it felt like a big trap plus they don't accept card payments so it's almost impossible to even regulate...
Read moreNo menu, only the "super fish"...(The attraction was that the old man who was the fisherman.) Okay, the (medium size) fish was good...but for 15 euro sper portion! (Other places offered that for max.12 eurs, and it wasn't also frozen). The tzaziki was half of the normal portion. The free gift was a little grape. Finally we payed 40 euros, and we didn't drink any wine or beer (just only water). I think it was so high price for our dinner, because in many other tavernas in Kolimvari we ate for 20-25 eurs, and the dessert and the raki were free! And the meal wasn't worse than in Chara. The place is traditional (old lady with mustache and the fisherman - maybe her husband?), the old couple was fine, but the price is not resonable. Choose the Plaza Paridise, El Eladi or Edem (or anything at the bay), unless you want to support them because you are...
