Not sure where to start!? To avoid war and peace here I’ll bullet point which may help.||Good:|- Cleaning ladies were exceptional - always smiling , friendly and did a great job- they all deserve a pay rise!! |- The suite was large - nice pool and on the beach.||Bad:|- Like many others have mentioned or may not have mentioned - the marketing team have done a great job in convincing people this is a luxury hotel- trust me - it truly isn’t! |- We booked the ‘Sunrise Suite’ for 5 nights- pool , beach , and quickly realised NO sun on the patio after 10am!! |- Now when booking a suite or villa with a pool over looking the beach- you would expect to relax there for a good part of the day in the sunshine- not in October! |- Having approached reception and put this to them- they said you booked the sunrise suite ‘You should have known what this meant!!? What- how would I know that what you have called a suite mean that all we’ll see is the sunrise and even then- the sun was to the side of the suite and moved swiftly towards the back of the suite by 11am. |- The poor people next door- which ironically is called the ‘Sunset Suite’ had vertically no sun at all throughout the day. |- Now this may be different in the peak periods so I can only advise from this month (October) however- having read out their description to the hotel staff- it tells you NOTHING about what sunrise or sunset really means- so as customers- we have to work that out ourselves! |- So here we are - in a suite with a pool and view and no sun- October can be quite cool - so you need some UV to warm you up- but we had to resort to bathing on the grass at the side of suite where the sun shone for most of the day- what a waste of our time this was paying for such a facility and not using or enjoying it. |- Furthermore- the pool beds were broke and the cleaner tried hard for the maintenance people to fix- this took 2 days.|- The beach was dirty - with litter , pallets, broken beds, wiring coming out of the ground, beds not maintained and towels left for days which you can see in one of images. In fact - if you walk down the beach approx 800 metres - this is where you’ll see a sign suggesting ‘Award winning beach starts here’ which I admit was much nicer.|-Lastly- the breakfast- wow- wow -wow! The staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered and didn’t want to be there. They had scruffy jumpers on and you couldn’t tell if they were guests or someone they’d pulled off the street. They never asked for our room number until the last day- when I told the guy this is the first time- which means that anyone could come in , eat, drink and walk away without paying! |-Then comes the food- which looked and felt like a school canteen- and the food in my opinion wasn’t fit for a prison! As you can see from my video- everything was cold- I literally left the canteen seconds to sit down- and then first bite told me not to carry on. |- I took it back and complained to one of the guys - pointing out it was all cold- to then hear another take say the same thing- to which they quickly ran to the kitchen and then they tested the temperature to my absolute amazement - by touching one of the eggs with his finger to feel the temperature- and didn’t throw it away!!? I suggested he quickly took the egg he touched and the rest and bin it- the place is a joke! ||I could go on- but I think I’ve said enough to want people to think twice about pressing the submit button and handing over your good money to these people- who incidentally did nothing for us to appease our problems- not even management contacted us throughout our stay. ||AVOID this place - if Platanias is where you wish to stay- do your homework- there are many other better hotels on this strip that we checked out- proper 4 or 5 star hotels and not pretending to reach the heights of the 4 star status that this place believe they are.||Apologies this is war and peace - but me and my wife feel so cheated that it deserves my time to write...
Read moreArrived at this hotel first impressions were good, reception area was spotless then it all went down hill. Young girl long dark hair who checked us in wasn't very pleasant it was almost like she didn't want to be there, she showed us to our room, well the flights of stairs then said your room is up there. |Our room was nice I have to say we didn't have an issue with room but the couple weeks travelled with had requested minimal stairs due to hip procedure they did inform her that they wouldn't be able to accommodate as they were fully booked which was fair enough but to put her in the room they did, it was narrow steep stairs with a curve at the top and no hand rail to assist her up and down. I returned to reception with her to ask to be moved and the same girl who checked us in was on the desk, she informed us there was nothing she could do but with a smug smile on her face, we asked to speak with manager who also informed us nothing could ve done. No customer service skills between the 2 of them, something we have never come across in Greece over the years.|we were bed and breakfast and I can not fault the breakfast at all something for everyone but on the 2nd last day one of the waiters rudely asked us for our room number, my husband informed him and he proceeded to say in a loud voice you should check in before eating breakfast, I informed he we had been eating breakfast for 9 days and not once have we been asked for room number, again he continued to say it was his job which is fair enough but learn to manners and speak to people properly. I went and reported him to reception and was told it would ve looked into and I would be informed of outcome, we checked out the next day and on check out there was a different young girl with long blonde hair who asked if everything had been ok and when I informed her she apologised for the way I was feeling about the hotel and the staff. I won't be returning to this hotel or this resort in the future due to the lack of hospitality, I must say the maid and the lifeguard were the only 2 that had time for a good morning.||Also if your looking for a good dinner time snack/evening meal avoid the waves restaurant and head to the one next door, staff can't do enough for you and food, drink is much cheaper. And avoid the cafe/bar attached to reception they wouldn't serve us a coffee at 8...
Read moreThe hotel contacted me 2 weeks before our stay to ask if i had any special requirements, as i had just had a hip procedure i asked if possible could i get a room with limited steps, i received a reply saying they were fully booked and my room would have steps. On arrival we were allocated room 209, the steps in the room were steep , curved and had no handrail which proved very difficult for me, i went to reception and was told there was nothing they could do so i asked to speak to a manager, she said i could upgrade at a rate of €95 per night for 2 nights and then i would have to move back, i refused as i dont want to spend my holidays packing and unpacking. By chance on our 5 th day my husband seen a card stuck behind the air con switch saying we could move to room 208 if we wanted, unfortunately the note had been put where we hadnt seen it for 2 days so we were too late. We stayed in room 209 for the rest of our stay and just struggled with the stairs. The bed was large and comfortable but the room had a severe lack of storage and hanging space and the shower pressure was very poor, the room is next to the car park and we were woken every morning between 6.15 and 7am when the bins were getting emptied. There was never a problem getting a sunbed at either pool although there was quite a few broken ones and we saw a few peoples beds collapsing and the sun worshippers ending on the floor, the pool badly needed a good clean around the edges desperately needed a good scrub. Breakfast was of decent quality and we always found plenty to eat. Where this hotel really lets itself down is the staffs attitude and customer service which we...
