I went there from travel agency Tui for a week. Beautiful flora around the hotel, a lot of flowers and diffeerent species of trees. Lovely arranged decorations that changed a few time durning our stay. Room was nice and clean, we had a view on mountains, and do not regret, because at evenings there was played music (Dj or band) from the other side of the hotel till night almost. But it was also nice to listen to the music. Maides cleaned the room everyday. In room you can find hairdryer, two glasses (in bathroom), small fridge and towels ofc. There also is AC that helps a lot and TV - a few english channels with greeks signs and polish music channels. You can pay for safe box (12 eur per week). You close the door by cliking in the button on handle. In the hotel also is a lift and lagguage scale (1 eur but you are able to weight only one suitcase). WIFI was okay at the beggining of the stay, it works nicely on the ground floor and even at the beach. The cafeteria is on the ground floor and you can eat outside too, at the breakfast you have free drinks as coffee, tea, juices, water. At dinner you have to pay for drinks, the waiters comes to you and you order what you want, you can pay while ordering or at the end of the stay. Food was very tasty, didnt change a lot durning our stay, there always some fruits and cakes/sweets every meal. You take whatever you want, coz it is a bufet. After a week of stay for two and ordering beer and fresh juice each evening durning dinner we paid around 70 eur. At the cafeteria there is a cooking show and you can ask for special order like omlette. There are two swimming pools, very clean. The beach has a lot of rocks so bring your swimming shoes. You can pay 5 eur for two sunbeds and one umbrella per day (you get a ticekt and you can change the place from beach to the pool). At the ground floor there also is a jewellery exposition that you can buy, a lot of comfy chairs and sofas and drink bar. Just above the hotel there is a lovely travel agency leaded by Nana, that i really recommend. Near the hotel there is a stop bus and to get to the Rethymno take the bus number 20, there is no bus schedule, but it drives every 30-20 min. After 15 mins you will get to the center of Rethymno. You can buy the tickets it supermarkets. The only think that I DIDN'T LIKE IS THAT THAT YOU CAN SEE THE HOTEL IS ORIENTED ON GERMAN GUESTS! Nobody introduced me with the rules of the hotel at the beggining as the sunbeds, the cafeteria, drink bar, nothing. Gave me a key and said how to close the door, gave me information on paper in my language that has a lot of mistakes. And when i was asking for some informations at the reception or the female waiter at the cafeteria was taking my order they were ignoring me, and hooked to the german guests. Once, I wanted to order some drinks at evening, coz it was my mums bithday and the waiter came to us and said "Now only dinks" and left to other guestes, we sat there for 20 mins and nobody came to take our order so we left. I really didn't like it. I felt like an intruder. Not everyone was like that, but still. Beside that they speak fluently english and german ofc. And there is also a fee to pay after you come 1,5 eur per...

The Golden Beach Team really goes above and beyond to accommodate their individual guests. From answering any and all questions, giving great advice, having plenty of really good (and ever-changing) options at the buffet, to fulfilling even the most peculiar requests with a smile... the service leaves nothing to be desired. On the contrary staff frequently goes the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need. Special shout-out to Nikki at this point, who made dinner one of the favourite parts of our day. Lightning fast, perfectly organized, always a kind word on her lips, and a great sense of humour...she could probably rule the world (if only she could find the spare time). ;)
The Golden's breakfast time from 6.30-10.30 made sure that even late risers like us still got to enjoy the vast variety of breakfast selections. Haste- and stress-free.
To be honest: The coffee wasn't the best... but I'm a bit of a coffee snob, so that's probably on me. Besides: the view and the waves might be all the wake-up aides you need. If not: the little café across the street or Gampious Bakery a little further up will make sure your coffee standards are met.
The sandy beach right in front of the hotel, as well as the two pools (that were incredibly clean and not overloaded with chlorine) also made it really easy to forget about work or worries and get into the holiday spirit.
In addition to all that the Hotel is well located. A short bus ride away from Rethymno, surrounded by a few shops, supermarkets, bars and cafés you have everything you need within walking distance.
The fact that most of the people I met in this Hotel were return- or frequent guests speaks for itself. But even as newcomers, I can state highly enough how relaxed and well taken care of we felt. We even thought about adding one more week onto our stay because we didn't want our holiday to end.
That's all I can tell you... All that's left to do now is book and experience the beauty of a stay at the Golden Beach Hotel for yourself.

Read moreWe spent 7 nights at Golden Beach Hotel. The location is very good, only 15 mins by bus to Rethymnon. And the bus stop is just some steps away. The hotel is directly next to the beach, unfortunately it is stone beach but with the swimming shoes is not a problem. The ocean is amazing. The water is clear, clean and blue! Only 1-2 days that which there was the seaweed by the shore. In front of the hotel is the shopping street, hundred choices of shop and restaurant.
The accommodation is clean and as we paid for 3-4 stars hotel, it fulfilled my need and I was satisfied. Everything worked well, like it should be. We could see the beautiful sunset (super red) every evening ☀️🌅 They decorate the hotel very cute (Greek vibe), every corner with lovely deco and offer different interesting traditional show What I really love about it, the flower garden in front of the hotel 🌺 so lovely! There are also many beautiful flowers, trees and cats!
(Tip for women, better bring your own hair dryer because the one from hotel is small and not powerful… take too long time with long hair) The food is various and yummy! 😋I‘m picky about food but enjoyed the food there so much!
The staffs are mostly very friendly and helpful. They speak English and German very well. I had a wonderful vacation there! If there is a chance to visit Crete again, we‘ll definite come back here! Worth the money! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥇🏆🏆🏆
Ps. Not about the hotel. The sand has something weird which makes the white clothe become yellow (I just realized that I had this problem after I came back home) please try to avoid...
