Just got back from staying at this hotel for 10 nights. I’m totally baffled by some of the poor reviews as this hotel is amazing. Let me start from the beginning. We never originally booked for this hotel, but the hotel we booked wasn’t ready so we had to go to the lindos nest which had only opened the week before after a refurbishment. On arrival we were given a beautiful room with a whirlpool on balcony. The room was amazing. It had 2 bedrooms and everything you need was available. The only thing was there was no sea view which we had booked with original hotel. As it was 2am we waited until the next day to see the manager and explain that we would like a sea view. Unfortunately due to the hotel being full we had to wait 4 days. But eventually we got our sea view room with our own pool. Omg what a room with a view. It was the best room we had ever stayed in. The view was priceless. The beds were so comfortable, the mattress so thick. It had a power shower in the bathroom and the whole room was spotless. If you would like a kettle you just ask at reception and they give you a brand new one. Now for breakfast. There was everything you could want. Continental or hot. We had fresh omelette made on request most mornings, which were delicious. Plenty of options, you would never go hungry. The staff are so good and anything you needed they would get. The hotel is on top of a hill but don’t let that put you off. They have a courtesy bus to take you down to the beach and pick you back up again. Then in the evening it will take you into town for your night out. A taxi back is only 6 euros. Lastly I’d like to give a special mention to the staff. Stelios the manager was brilliant as were Flora and Ana on reception. Maria the housekeeper and the chamber maids always welcomed you with a smile and again couldn’t do enough for you. Now a special mention for Sam the assistant manager. What an absolute gentleman. Nothing was ever to much trouble for him. He always had a smile on his face and managed to solve any issues. He was even taking people down to town in his own car when the courtesy bus was stuck in traffic. He took us down to town also when we missed the courtesy bus and told us to text him when we were ready to be picked up. All I can say to finish is please don’t be put off by the bad reviews this hotel and the staff that run it are truly amazing. I was gutted when we had to leave but will definitely be booking this hotel again next year. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Thank you all so much for making our holiday the...
Read moreArrived late, 1am, to be told only one of the two rooms we had booked and paid extra for was available - 'sea view with jacuzzi. Not the best start..... So we had one room which was fine and one with jacuzzi, but no sea view (a priority for us. We went to see reception the following day and discuss our options. They confirmed there were no other rooms with the sea view and jacuzzi. They did say that they 'assumed' we would be happy with the room without the sea view as it was an 'upgraded' room because it had two bedrooms. Now as a married couple for 25 years, we didn't need two bedrooms?!?! The only room with a sea view was next door to the correct room, so we opted for that but, we were asked to sign a form saying we were downgrading and weren't eligible for a refund. (We did get one from Tui though). Interestingly while we're at reception we spoke to another couple who had the exact same issue and also told us of another couple with again the same issue. A few days later we overheard yet another family checking in at reception and guess what, yep, no sea view room for them even though that's what they had booked. Clearly a common theme for this hotel, sole intention to get bookings. SO WRONG!!! We had to complain about out jacuzzi smelling (had to remind them twice) and it was cleaned but, again smelling within a couple of days. We stopped using it. Average, at best, breakfast with cold eggs and beans. But a decent selection of fruits. The bar opening times aren't great, closing around 6pm. So then it's lights out on the complex. Location isn't great, but a short cut is there down a track saving 5-10 mins on the walk to the main bars. Only 20mins in total to get there (15 if you have good pace) Taxi back €6-8 Positives - the rooms are spacious and clean. The views, if you're lucky enough to get one, are spectacular!! The small shop in the hotel has drinks which are cheap enough, and great to stock up the fridge in the room. In a nutshell, the place serves a purpose, sleep and wash. Would we stop there again, no. Would we recommend it, no. If you get a good deal, it's maybe worth a go. So many better hotels with a...
Read moreOur experience of the Lindos Nest from start to finish was great!|Sam welcomed us the moment we arrived, very late arrival, he was polite , gave us all the information we needed, and fast so we weren’t hanging about after the long flight which is brilliant. |A lovely touch to give us a bottle of cold water wash to take to the room. ||The room was number 310, a gorgeous room, gorgeous views, done to a nice standard. The private pool was brilliant to jump in and out of all day sunbathing and taking in the views! ||Mattress was good, pillows I generally like two pillows one soft and one medium, ( I didn’t ask for a second one but I’m sure Sam would help if you needed something else).||We had clean towels regular and clean bedding every other day. But the maids came in and gave it a mop and a quick do over most days, also really nice ladies. A pair of slippers also a nice touch in the room. ||The lovely gent who runs the pool bar and breakfast he was very nice and friendly also was nice to have a chat when we saw him. Very polite and helpful. |And the food we did eat here was nice. ||Anything we needed (i.e , kettle , cups , safe key, bottle opener , etc) Sam and the gent always helped us out. ||The two lady’s we met on reception were also nice and helpful, only one misunderstanding but It was easily sorted. |We didn’t use the main pool as we didn’t need to, |But it looked nice and was busy during the day but still peaceful not rowdy like some pools.||I can tell work is still continuing at this hotel and that it will only become better and better as time goes on. ||Another note , taxis to lindos are about 12 euros and taxi down to pefkos strip is 7-8 euros. ||The hill is steep to walk up, especially when it’s very hot but it is do able in 15 minutes to go either way. ||But you can also hire quads / cars / mopeds at reception. ||Reception also has a little shop on site for water and drinks snacks. ||Thank you to you all and hope to see you in the future! ||Emma...
