June 1st to 8th 2024, just had 1 week at Rodos Palace. Having read the reviews we were a concerned before arriving but wanted to keep an open view.

In conclusion if you have not booked yet then DONT, most basic all inclusive ever seen, find a hotel with better reviews, read on for explanation.

If you've booked and now reviewing latest reviews don't worry you will still have a great time just need to alter expectations before arriving then won't be dissapointed!!

If you are thinking your getting a 5 star hotel, experience and service at a bargain price!! Well No!! That isn't the case!!

If you've paid and got a really good deal then look below and do yourself a favour and upgrade to the real all inclusive Ultra package when at the hotel checking.

To start this hotel is a conference hotel, is tired and at best 3 stars, plus has two classes of service;

  1. All Inclusive = Very Basic, limited food choice and single bar access with large ques

  2. Ultra All Inclusive = Upgrade on arrival of 25 Euros per person per day, gives Typical All Inclusive, three restaurants and food that does not represent a school canteen.

Once the above is understood that your All Inclusive package bargain from UK is actually a 3 star basic package the rest is what you make of your holiday!

Hotel 3/10 - no way a 5 star, well past it's sell by date and should have been refurbed years ago. Hence the cash cow running way beyond its refurb date brings the other reviews into perspective.

Pool Area 3/10 - Regardless of the package the main pool area is tired, sun beds limited, lacking mattresses, where they do exist they are stained and poor quality. Many holiday makers sat on chairs as not enough beds and strange layout means half day in shade for most of the pool area. Pools are clean although never seen a water check being done. Typical race for beds from 7:00am, no policing of area despite signs saying 10am no reserving.

Rooms 4/10- There seems to be 5 classes of room. Standard Old Tired Floors 1 to 6, Standard refurbed 7 & above, Executive rooms in conference venue wing, multi bedroom apartments (up the hill, long walk from main hotel), and finally VIP suites with own private pools (Again up the hill behind hotel).

We booked an executive room, we're given a standard which was rough to say the least, rattling aircon, handles missing, toilet flush broken off, mould in bathroom, fridge in middle of room in order to put kettle on to reach the one single 2pin plug!! Take a multi extension!!! Air con was fixed after two days, bed was comfy and shower great.

Reception 1/10 - Bloody rude, lack of any customer service, no info on arrival, just said fully booked when we complained about room condition and standard to what we had booked.

As soon as we arrived, three ladies on reception, not one acknowledgement, smile etc. Eventually just a Yes!! Here!!, pay your 10Euro/night room tax. Then here's your key card, elevators on left....

Food 4/10 - on All Inclusive you get one restaurant, food is same each day but is cooked but Luke warm. Very limited but you can make something each day. Chicken, Fried Pork and Poached Fish, rice, veg, chips and salad choices. Puddings plentiful, on day 4 ice cream appeared, don't know if they ran out due to conference previous week?

Breakfast were actually great, lots of choice, different style cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, which actually explains this hotel as a B&B conference venue.

If you have kids who are picky, on the basic AI there are no nuggets, pizzas jus spaghetti bolognaise!! Think this is deliberate to try and get you to upgrade.

Parents were taking their kids into Rhodes Town to visit McDonalds in order to get kids style meals.

We did not upgrade to Ultra as food was acceptable if repetitive, by time we figured out the class differences no point and didnt want to play into giving the hotel any more custom, instead we eat out a couple of nights at local restaurants for 20Euros each.

We were lucky to be sat in the middle of the refectory (not really restaurant) and had two...

When reading reviews, we were nervous about our stay at Rodos Palace due to the amount of reviews about out dated rooms etc. we sent an email request to make sure we get a nice room as we were going away to celebrate our 1st year anniversary and being pregnant. Our room was nice. Big and seemed clean at the start of the trip. Cleaners in each day as expected for a 5 star hotel, however what we did find was yes- beds made fresh towels (most) days, had to call reception for towels on occasion and when lady called to door 1-2hours later with towels she had to come in to investigate to see if we actually did or did not have towels. we found the floors not cleaned, stones from beach bags all over the floor for days. The sink/shower not cleaned. They had used a wipe and left it in the bath, which I picked up and put beside the bath which is sitting for 4 days and now we have left. The pool area- limited Sunbeds. We noticed a sign saying no reserving before 10am. Came down just before 10am and not 1 single bed, other guests had used 1 towel to cover 2 beds and no where to be seen for HOURS. This happened a lot. The sign said they would not be allowed, but nothing was done? There was the very odd wooden slated bed with no cushions. Now as anyone, never mind a pregnant woman, it was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve lay on. I asked the man at the pool bar for any extra cushions and instantly said no and continued to clean around his bar ignoring me. The wooden slated deck floor is a MASSIVE SAFETY CONCERN. I don’t know how many times I nearly fell, never mind the time I stood on the slate and the other end came flying up to close to my face. So we tried to go down to the beach as it looked lovely on their website. extremely limited beds, Not very many for such a large hotel. Food/Beverages - 1 bar for all inclusive. You are made to feel like a peasant for trying to order a BOTTLE OF WATER at the outside bar and told to go inside instead. Also all inclusive bar not open until 10am. We requested from bar man 2 bottles of water at 9:55am, now I understand he’s trying to set the bar up for service and not technically open, but it’s water? Not even a direction on where to find water, especially in 35 degree heat. Staff always seemed bothered? Maybe the heat I don’t know but definitely would not be tipping a single penny for how they make you feel like an inconvenience. The queues are ridiculous, 20-25 minutes for a bottle of water. the food is not good at all. We both struggled with the food. If you like salty McDonald like chips you’re good. Or buttery greasy like pasta and the same sauce every single day. Often found the chicken not properly cooked which made me extremely nervous due to being pregnant. The same food repetitively every single day. What is left over from main dining buffet is then the “snacks” for the gallery cafe. Unless you go before the lunch starts in the main room then the snacks are salad and bread.. no thanks. Yet they claim pizza, gyros, cold sandwiches and toasties etc etc. now yes there was pizza on our last 2 days which said it was margarita yet covered in vegetables But no other food stated was to be seen. When we asked guest relations, lady was so rude. Basically said it is what it is in a round about way. We never go all inclusive and we wish we didn’t again, as every single night we ate out. Entertainment - the dome. Sweaty warm humid no way anyone enjoys sitting in there. Entertainment is not the best. However if you go to the bar that you pay for drinks, they have a lovely atmosphere in the fresh air with a live 2 piece band. Again how they make a separation between all inclusive and people willing to spend when they get there. The dome is also extremely dirty looking Also state in luggage room no cameras work and not liable.. very weird considering no signs for this anywhere else in hotel- feel like it’s a very important place for cameras to work for your guests. Also partner got a can of red bull that was sitting on his bag stolen after only 20 minutes of them...

With at present 9.2 MILLION views on my reviews and privileged to be in Googles top 10% of reviewers globally my opinions are always honest, unbiased and comprehensive. Please read the whole review, there's so much to do here and a 2 line review would not do it any justice.

This hotel stay at the Rodos Palace Hotel in Rhodes has been nothing short of perfection. We came here as a large family group in several rooms for my wedding on the beautiful beach here in Rhodes. Our ages range from 3 to 80 years old.

All our room types were different to from family rooms to accessible rooms and everything inbetween. In each room is a large flat screen tv, fridge and a safe. There's tea and coffee making facilities too. The beds are so so comfortable too.

I'm going to get out of the way firstly the fact if you look for faults you will find them, literally anywhere in the world. I find if you have a positive attitude you will recieve the perfect holiday. From arrival through the beautiful reception area you are warmly greeted by the friendly staff, checked in and either directed or driven to your room. People moaned about waiting for a lift, yes there are queues at times and literally 5 minutes later there is noone waiting. If you are expecting no queues for a lift directly to your room then have one installed in your home! There are actually 2 sets of lifts but most people can't be bothered to walk the 2 minutes to get to them.

There are several restaurants and depending on your board basis will dictate where you eat. The main buffet restaurant is amazing as are the choices. They have themed food days and if you stayed here for 2 months you'd still not eat every choice. The Greek night was a personal favourite as i think i ate my body weight in lamb cutlets! They have catered for the food intolerance some of our family have with ease. Some people moan that the food is sometimes cold but it just means you wasn't there 2 minutes ago when it was constantly replenished.

The restaurant staff are like worker ants, always on the go and always polite and friendly and extremely professional throughout. You have your drinks order taken and served to your table.

There are several bars with a large choice of drinks, a snack bar serving freshly prepared waffles, pancakes and toasted sandwiches too along with help yourself ice cream and soft drinks. The staff on all the bars greet you with a smile. The entertainment staff are always on hand by the outdoor pools and called us all by names within 24hrs of meeting us. We ate dinner (prebooked) at the themed restaurant by the pool and chose Italian and all had different dishes and the food, staff and atmosphere were excellent. The entertainment in the indoor dome swimming pool area is beyond comparison. The staff will arrange a seat for you and your party and serve drinks to your table all evening. The entertainment itself has left us all talking how fantastic it was and looking forward to the next night. A special note to the 5 guys from Zanziba who blew us away every night with the ever evolving acts and acrobatics too. The Abba night also went down a storm and had the whole dome singing loudly. The entire hotel is constantly being cleaned almost 24 hours a day and every staff member no matter how high up the chain are so polite and welcoming too. There is a beautiful beach literally just over the road I would like to extend a massive thank you for making this special occasion so amazing for myself, my new wife, my children and my entire family to the cleaning team, chefs, restaurant staff, reception staff, and a huge thank you to Mia and Labrini & the guest relations team and the management for running a great hotel and team making a smooth holiday full of joyful memories. Please take your time to look through my photos when I have 5 minutes to go through & load them and thank you for reading this review of this wonderful hotel. Important questions are would it stay here again, in a heartbeat and without question I'd recommend this hotel to...

We have just spent 6 nights at Rodos Palace hotel 7th to 14th September. Our daughter booked this holiday for us as a joint 60th Birthday present. After she booked it, she then read the reviews and was upset thinking she had done the wrong thing. HOWEVER it is with great pleasure that we can assure you that very few of the negative reviews posted by "visitors" this year were even remotely near the truth. My wife and I are seasoned travellers. 1. Rooms and facilities - We had a Suite with a Garden view 3704 (these have been particularly poorly rated) The soft and hard furnishings are a little dated but they are in a state of good repair, very clean and perfectly comfortable to use. I've given the room(s) to include the overall facilities because they are for the majority part dated and show signs of use. Our room smelt a little muffy on arrival BUT after a couple of hours of use that disappeared. Overall the Hotel was clean, with the toilets in the General Service areas very clean. 2. Staff and Service - We were greeted friendly and politely by 99% staff when we approached them. Our questions were answered politely, clearly and if in doubt explained. Nothing was too much for any of these guys and gals you asked you got and if they couldn't then someone came who could. Top marks to Prakriti in the main Restaurant she excelled in excellent service. At Lunch and Dinner drinks were served to your table but wait times of 20/30/40mins as Ive read in some reviews are just not fair, in fact our experience was (and observed as practise on surrounding tables) most guests had guest served at their table while they were still helping themselves to their first round at the buffet and a second drink was placed before the first was completely gone. Drinks offered at meal times were Cold Soda drinks, Red/white Wine, Beer, Tea, Coffee, Cappuccino. What more do you expect!. The only meal time you served yourself with cold juices was Breakfast. You have to struggle to experience an unfriendly member of their team however our experience of the "La Terrasse Bar did leave an unpleasant taste in more ways than one which was a shame as it watered down what was otherwise a lovely experience. 3. "La Terrasse Bar" Ive singled this part of the hotel out because as in many of the previous reviews this area really lets the Hotel down. Not only did we experience unfriendliness particularly midday on Saturday 13th September with a lady behind the bar. She was impolite and very abrupt when asked a simple question about a drink. Also my wife being a diabetic drinks only sugar free drinks, as it was quite humid outside she fancied a juice or Soda so asked for one. She was offered a Coke Zero!. but was served a normal coke, full fat full sugar!!!. When she questioned it she was impolitely told there's no difference!!!. From where we were standing we could see the Soda syrup connections and Coke Zero wasn't even connected up!!!, as when the Bar Staff operated the Swan neck siphon for Coke Zero then the full fat full sugar Coke Syrup pumped!!!. Not only did we experience impoliteness but my health condition was ignored as well!!! 3. Food and Food variety - Well what can I say to.the negative comments except - were the authors really at RODOS PALACE?? - Im afraid we and all the other guests we spoke to CANNOT agree with one negative comment (see my photos) The variety was amazing and each evening there was a theme attached to an area of the Buffet. Of course there was still plenty on offer for those who didn't want to appreciate the themed area. At all times the food was hot or cold (as applicable) in plentiful supply and nicely presented. 4. Beach and Towels - To be honest we didn't indulge in this area as we are true tourists so we soaking up the sights, local areas, cultures and spend little time next to a pool or being cooked on a beach - hiring Cars and motorbikes is more our world to enjoy a holiday destination.

Rodos Palace Review Overall I had a lovely holiday and stay at Rodos palace, I will note the good and bad points and give what I believe is a fair review. 3 Stars ⭐️ On arrival the reception is beautiful and has stunning architecture and artwork. My bags were taken by a very kind gentleman and was shown to the reception desk to check in. The lady behind the reception was lovely and the check-in process was very simple. Please note the Greek tax is 4 euros per night per room which has to be paid on arrival. She explained clearly with a map of the hotel where the all-inclusive bar and where the pool was, then directions to my room. It was very busy on first assumption it seems a large hotel complex. Unfortunately, when I got my room, I was on the seventh floor in room 747. The Room didn’t appear to be of a five star quality and there was broken plug sockets. The furniture was outdated and I was given two single beds when I requested the double. However, there was lots of adequate storage for clothing, including a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom is also very nice with marble flooring and ceiling. Lots of adequate lighting, plenty of mirrors. The only bad thing to mention about the bathroom is the hairdryer it works for about 30 seconds and then is rendered useless and it’s not very hot. The main swimming pool is very small. There is not a lot of sunbeds, but there is a towel service where you can get fresh towels every day right by the pool. Some days I have to wake up at 7 am just to put my towel on the sunbed to make sure I had a spot in the Sun for the day. There is a kids pool which looks good for the kids and indoor pool which is not heated. There’s also a spa and sauna, but I didn’t go in there as the Prices were very expensive. The food I will give a 7.5 out of 10, lots of selection but not necessarily lots for kids. The food service however, the quality of the service was excellent. I made sure to tip them accordingly. You are always shown to your table by a lovely hostess, then greeted by the waiter who will take your room number and drinks order. In the all-inclusive restaurant, you can order as many drinks as you want, but they do not do alcohol spirits, They do beer wine, soft drinks, juices, cola, lemonade water etc. One big plus point about the restaurant is the desert area. It is fantastic lots of selection of cakes, chocolate bars, sweets, ice cream, jelly, excellent. All-inclusive bar you can get drinks such as cocktails, lots of variance of spirits, beer, wines, soft drinks, fresh bottled cold water. And the ice is okay to consume here. If you’re looking to hire a quad bike during your stay, do not use the place on the property, they charge a €300 deposit plus €40 for the quad bike you get the €300 back at the end of the day, but no other place on the island does this. The €300 also has to be in cash only. However, if you’re looking to hire, a moped, 125cc or more, this is the cheapest place I found on the island. There is an on-site shop which has absolutely everything you need from medication, tobacco, food, drinks, souvenirs, clothing, sun cream, all with normal Greek prices, not increased due to the location. However, there is a more slightly expensive smaller shop inside the hotel. I recommend not using this shop, as prices are hiked for the location and convenience. If you’re looking for a massage on your trip, and do not want to spend €79, which is what the hotel charges, you should head down to Tai Sabei massage, a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive down the road, offering excellent Thai massages for 25 euros for 30 minutes or 50 euros for one hour. A taxi to Rodos old town takes about 15 minutes and it’s about €25-€30. I highly recommend hiring a moped or quad bike as you have it for the whole day (8pm) and it costs the same as what the taxi would for a one way trip. Overall, would come back but not exactly the experience I was hoping for.

So my wife and I wanted to go away for our 20th wedding anniversary. After searching through many destinations and hotels, and deals, we finally decided to give Rhodes and the Rodos Palace Hotel a go. We booked our 3 night holiday through Loveholidays. We caught the early morning 05:40 flight, with Easyjet from Gatwick to Rhodes. The flight landed 20 mins ahead of time, and we were soon in a transfer taxi on our way to the hotel. On arrival, and by now it was 1215, local time, we were told that we could not check in for our room, until 2pm. Which we were not informed about, through our hotel details. But no matter, we were told to keep our baggage in the luggage area, and were given a voucher for lunch. Which we duly took. The restaurant in which we had lunch, was very spacious with plenty of seating. Apart from bring served the drinks, it is a case of self service. In the middle was the area that had trays of hot food. Plenty of choice was on hand. Many different types of food were on offer. All hot. There was a salad bar and another counter for the carving of meat and other food on offer. There was also a dessert area, just full of that, desserts. Small simple portions, in small plastic bowls, or you could choose a Cheesecake or other cakes, that you had to serve yourself. Ice cream was also available. Many flavours to choose from. Lay out of food was good and organised well. On sitting at our table, a waiter approached within seconds asking what we would like to drink. Friendly, polite service and prompt too. Food was absolutely delicious and cooked very well. Floor managers were there to make sure that everything ran well and that there were no problems. Cutlery was available through out and of course clean. But at one meal sitting, we did come across a dirty, stained fork, which was promptly replaced with lots of apologies. After lunch we checked in. Or room was on the 5th floor. I believe there are 17 floors. The room we got was not disappointing. We had a balcony and from there we had a great view of the sea. Mediterranean I believe. So blue. To the left a view of the hills and other part of Rhodes. Very nice. The weather was the plus point. Sunny and fairly warm. Any thought of the London weather being pushed from my mind. Room was a good size. Included a fridge and a TV on the wall. Tea/coffee making equipment was readily available. I found the mattress to be hard and on night 2 and 3, didn't quite get a comfortable sleep. I suppose that's down to not being used to it. Probably would have got better as time wore on, but then again we were only there for 3 nights. Bathroom was again spacious and clean. Towels provided along with small bottles of shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. We were given a card by which towels can be changed, but if you lose that card, you have to pay €10. They advise not to change the towels daily. So we did not and used them for 3 days, hanging them out to dry There are 3 bars. One by the pool, a VIP one and one inside not far from the pool. It's this one that can be used for your all inclusive. Not a vast selection by any means, but enough for you to enjoy a drink or two. Snacks are also available. All bars and restaurants governed by times. The bar by the pool, all drinks have to be paid for. Friendly staff. Polite and eager to help. On the day of our departure, our flight was not until 2050, local time. We had to check out by 12, even though it stipulated 11, but the hotel allowed us to have the extra hour. They also gave us a voucher for lunch. And our all inclusive card still allowed us to get drinks, if we so desired. Plenty of seating, allowing us to chill, before the flight home. All in all a good experience from start to finish. Highly recommended. There is also a children's play area. So keeps the kids occupied. I would definitely like to go back. And am planning to do so, hopefully in the latter part of the year.
