We booked a week's stay at this Hotel after it was recommended by my sister in law who went last year. They had an amazing time and felt we would enjoy it. We booked through Tui and decided to upgrade to a room with private pool and sea view. This is a room they had the year before. We also decided to go all inclusive. They booked as well and were eager for us to experience the Hotel. On arrival at the Hotel we were greeted by the Team who were very welcoming and helpful. We were then informed that things at the Hotel had changed and the rooms we had booked no longer included having lunch and dinner in the exclusive restaurant which overlooked the sea. We would however still be able to have breakfast there. This was a huge disappointment for my sister in law and her husband as this was one of the things they loved about the Hotel and something we were looking forward to enjoying.||Our room was absolutely lovely, very spacious, clean, large bathroom and a sofa which was most comfortable. We were given a bottle of sparkling wine which was a nice touch and a large plate of fruit plus bottles of water. The pool was so nice and our rooms looked out over the sea with Turkey in the distance a perfect view and a lovely place to spend the afternoons. Two sun beds and a table and chairs. The added bonus of there being ample shade to relax and read which we did every afternoon it was bliss.||The restaurant for breakfast was indoor and outdoor we sat by the wall overlooking the pool and lovely sea view it was a perfect start to the day. Buffet breakfast with an a la carte option of eggs, omellates and pancakes made to order. Good coffee and fresh orange juice. |We were able to have one lunch at this restaurant during our stay which was lovely. We had lunch in the buffet in the main Hotel - good selection of food especially soup and salads. We also ate there a couple of evenings. Also included was a meal in the Greek Restaurant and the Italian Restaurant both very good and we all enjoyed our meals there. ||All inclusive we soon realised only included 1 white wine, 1 red wine and 1 Rose wine (which was dire to be honest) only a handful of cocktails and one beer. This was disappointing and not something we had experienced before. Especially as there was no prosecco included We decided to complain as we felt that this was not really good enough and would not have gone all inclusive had we known. The year before my sister in law went half board which was much a better option. To be fair the Hotel staff dealt with our complaint really well and the following day a prosecco had been added - we were also given complimentary glasses of prosecco with our meals in the Greek Restaurant which was appreciated. It was good to know that they had listened to us.||There is a lovely beach (we could walk to it through a tunnel under the road) ample amount of sun beds and umbrellas. There was a lovely man who was taking care of the area he was very helpful and friendly - unfortunately we didn't get his name. To go in the water there are a lot of pebbles which are difficult to navigate - we purchased beach shoes which helped a lot. We had lovely early morning walks along the beach it was too hot during the day to walk very far. ||A little shop in the Hotel Reception is very handy and you can pick up most things you may need including ice creams. Not too far along the road from the Hotel there are ample supermarkets, restaurants and bars. We strolled along some evenings and enjoyed drinks and music.||A taxi in to Rhodes old Town only took about ten minutes and we did this some evenings. It is so beautiful there. We had some lovely meals at Greek restaurants and enjoyed drinks at a lovely bar with outdoor seating. ||All the staff we encountered at the Hotel were very friendly, helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms were cleaned every day. We were left chocolates and bottles of water every day. We also had greek cakes and turkish delight which was a nice touch. ||There is a pool bar where we could get drinks and food whilst on the beach. For the suites there was a separate pool area with sun beds. ||All in all we had a lovely week at the Hotel. Very relaxing just...

Read other reviews, we all have experienced the same. Some of these may seem petty, but after a day or so at Amus this all adds up to such a poor experience over the two weeks. (Maybe that’s why they rebranded a few years back).
You will read the same defensive generic responses from the hotel. Also look at the other 5 star reviews here and you judge which ones are genuine, as they are all conveniently the same.
This is not a 5 star hotel!
Day 3 we reported MISSING VALUABLES within the hotel, and was threatened by the Customer Relations not to label this stolen. This was not taken seriously, not recorded or chased up and sounds like it’s a regular occurrence listening to guests and reading reviews.
Day 5 whilst we were out someone WALKED IN OUR ROOM ignoring a “Do not disturb” sign and left a pizza on our table with a two slices missing when we returned from a day out… FREAKY and so SCARY for us and our 7 year old child who was in tears. Customer Relations did not care and made a pathetic excuse of delivering room service to the wrong room and had permission to enter, but we spoke to that room and this was not the case.
Manager is too busy to speak to her guests. (We asked for 6 consecutive days, left our email, phone number and hanged around waiting in the foyer reception). And still to the day a week after we’d left, we have received no contact from any of the hotel in any form of any apology.
We also had Ants in the bathroom and bedroom floor like many reviews on here and elsewhere.
We also had the same strong smell of sewerage in our room (like many others) that Customer Relations shrugged their shoulders at when I mentioned it. (Plus shower drain blocked).
Random dangerous screws sticking out of the lift floor that guests trip over (in-front of customer relations). Lifts were unreliable and temperamental (scary in the power outage that we experienced).
Guests were forced to eat lunch outside in the heatwave, refusing to allow us to eat inside despite against government advice.
As many on here state; the main restaurant does not serve authentic fresh Greek food, but old outdated repetitive canteen tinned or frozen food. With rare vegetarian options (we were told that this is a meat hotel). The poor chefs subsequently have to make meals for many families because of this old fashioned view, that’s only after the poor frustrated restaurant supervisors had to give guests daily tours of the sad food on offer. It’s just not fair on the staff who know this is pathetic. Deserts are an unhealthy mass produced sugary cakes or sweating under the metal housings.
Breakfast was stale bread, mouldy fruit and tinned mushrooms and reheated potatoes. Frozen croissants heated to become hard. Just the one undrinkable coffee option (no machines) and juice watered down. Alternative milks were warm cartons brought out each time.
Greece has such an amazing array of traditional dishes and food, which if you take a stroll into the Rhodes old town it puts the hotel restaurant to an embarrassing shame. We had to resort to paying extra for eating away from the hotel rather than suffer this monotonous routine of disappointment.
All inclusive option, is not.
Poolside at the front of the hotel was dated, most of the sun loungers are broken, parasols snapped and a warning cone in the pool to cover cracks in the floor. Ant infestations from the grass that is damp and smelling rotten.
Receptionists were lacking any customer service and in fact any attempt of simple sentences. Usually it’s one word answers or questions and that feels too much of a trouble for them before going to sit down behind the column hiding from guests. It’s not uncommon for 3-4 reception staff to deal with the one task like checking in.
If you like being patronised, humoured and ignored by Guest Relations, and you like to feel like an inconvenience to be bothering reception by checking in or asking for a taxi in a “5 star hotel” then this is the one for you.

Addressing in depth below key aspects of our stay. As a summary this hotel is beautiful but there were many small instances that let down the experience leaving us to conclude that we overpaid and the service under-delivered.
Firstly a heads up, check-in is a slow and tedious process. It took us over 45 minutes to check in (there was one couple in front of us as we arrived). As we arrived at 2:30am, we were simply not in the mood for the the level of faffing and felt some of the process could have been completed the next day, or at checkout.
The rooms were clean and modern - well presented, comfortable and had a fruit basket/drink on arrival which was appreciated. The sea view is pretty and chairs comfortable in the balcony. It did take us physically handing over dirty plates and cutlery to get these taken after 4 days of leaving dirty dishes on the table. The cleaners were friendly and quick, I think the cleaning process set by the hotel let them down. Bizarrely, there is only one mug per room.
Breakfast had a huge range of offerings, was delicious and the servers were efficient and friendly. I felt these were the best staff in the hotel and a credit to the hotel.
The pool area is crowded and difficult to get a bed in a "good" location, but the beach usually had good availability and has a gorgeous view. There was 0 enforcement of the no bed reservations before 9:30am which was frustrating. We recommend reserving a bed in the adults only pool area before 9am, as everyone else will.
The bars on floor 11 and by the pool made nice drinks (around €10 for most cocktails). The restaurants all serve nice food - Varkorola had the most delicious food whereas the greek taverna was a wonderful experience and good food. The live music was a nice addition, and all singers were talented, although a little loud at times and did result in one of our meals being wrong. One of our party were gluten free and we would have appreciated more offerings on the menu than risotto (as delicious as this was) at the 3 restaurants. At all 3 service was slow and it felt they were perhaps a little understaffed. The portions were also on the smaller side in Varkorola and Oliveto so we were glad to receive the reduced premium price.
The lobby cafe bar was a complete failure for us and so disappointed at the service and quality of drinks. We ordered an oat milk latte which required two corrections (she tried to ice it first, then use normal milk after confirming we wanted oat). The ice chai latte is frankly disgusting and when we brought back to get a new tea bag to infuse more, was rudely told to Google how to make chai tea and that 2 mins was long enough for the "aroma". For the benefit of that cafe server, chai tea should be steeped for a minimum of 3-5mins in hot water before cooled with ice... Not 2 minutes in cold milk. I recommend future guests watch carefully when their drink is made to ensure anyone with lactose intolerance are not accidentally spiked and to order only simple drinks, or use the pool bar which served better hot drinks.
One of the more frustrating aspects of the entire hotel was the gatekeeping of information - you couldn't see menus of the restaurants anywhere but at the restaurants, bookings had to be done via QR code from key lobby locations, the spa prices had to be gotten from a member of staff. There was so much extra effort for guests to get simple information.
Spa is a nice area, the outdoor pool being the highlight and the steam room the disappointment. We do recommend people take advantage of the welcome offer as the spa staff trawl the beach for clientele, and outside breakfast. The massage was fantastic - Maria was excellent.
Overall, the hotel is kept in good shape and had good facilities but frankly the service was not to standard. When interacting with lobby staff, for the most part it felt as though we were an inconvenience. We won't be returning.
