Absolute waste of time.
We checked out this restaurant earlier this afternoon. The prices seemed a little steep and the waiter advised us on the set meal plan where you get 2 starters, 2 curries, 2 rices, naan and poppadoms for €40 which seemed very reasonable.
The curry on the set meal was Masala and we asked if we could swap this for a Madras as neither of us would eat a Masala. The waiter advised that’s fine so we took a menu and advised we’d be back later.
We have just arrived this evening and waited 20 minutes to have our drinks orders taken. There were people being served before us who arrived after. We were then told it had to be Masala when we tried to place our order by a different waiter.
Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but the price of everything separately that came in the set meal would have cost an additional €20 at minimum. Absolutely ridiculous.
We walked out and didn’t bother ordering. They did not care. Would...
Read moreThe service was good, they're very covid-compliant with tables spaced out as I'd imagine there would normally be more tables. We got one inside as outside (6 tables) were all taken. We ordered 2 pathias, one chicken one chicken tikka but noticed no difference at all between the two. They charged an extra euro as they do for having tikka for one of them so it wasn't an error. Great naan bread, had peshwari and or wasn't dripping with honey or dessicated coconut, just right for dipping! The rice was good and the beer served in ice cold glasses.
The flavour was only alright, hotness was about madras level, which is quite hot for a pathia but it does have the same chilli rating on the menu. Chicken quality not great, certainly not tikka so for that and the average flavour deducted a star. Overall good but don't feel the need to rush back, just good for a curry fix! Menu pics added for reference as the prices have...
Read moreI wouldn’t call it authentic Indian food more like Indian food for Westerners, very mild some dishes had sugar. Owner manager said credit card doesn’t work, very strange because other people paid by card. The owner basically stood at the table until we place an order, no chance to discuss what we wanted to try. Price is rich portions rather small. Definitely don’t get the Prawn curry, Prawns were missing in actions.
I think my main complaint is the food was very bland, the curries didn’t seem to have the right amount of spices and I’m not talking about chili that is easy to add but all the other spices seemed to have gone on extended vacation.
Since there doesn’t seem to be other Indian places around this is the only choice and it showed, the place was full.
When in Rhodes skip this place and try something else, even a hamburger...
