I can see why this place is appealing to Brits. Half the menu is local cuisine, the other is gastro pub style (burgers, pizzas etc). A great idea in theory.
However, I would advise there are better or more affordable for both. The cocktails were averagely priced, but bad, my partner's cocktail didn't even taste like it had alcohol in it - and not in a positive way. The food was mediocre and more expensive than better alternatives by a few euros.
The wait staff did not really interact with us after the initial order of drinks and food. We both needed additional drinks with our meal and could not get the staff's attention, which may have been excused, but the restaurant was half empty. It was windy and an ash tray smashed on the floor, and despite offering to clean it up ourselves (it was no one's fault, as my girlfriend knocked it while trying to catch something flying away), the staff said no, we will sort it, but then proceeded to leave it there for a further 30 minutes. Even after we left, it was not picked up. We're not for red tape health and safety, we don't really care about that, I'm highlighting that we needed some kind of service and could not get it. After we finally caught the attention of someone for the bill, we were left for another 15 minutes in windy conditions (not ideal for notes), until we gave it to the staff as we left.
I'd strongly advise...
Read moreLoved eating here. Very relaxed atmosphere, employees knew what they were doing and they did their jobs well. Amazing designs in the restaurant, I liked the wall which featured John Lennon on it, I thought that was a nice touch and the reggae covers of popular songs in the background was a nice touch too. The food itself didn’t have nuts in it, which was quite good and only a few items (e.g. ones with pistachios) had nuts in them. Now let’s get onto the food. I had some chicken wings for my starters which were very nice, admittedly I think the amount of sesame seeds on it was a bit much but it didn’t spoil the chicken for me. Later on I had a burger and fries which tasted absolutely amazing. It was rather large though and I wasn’t able to finish it all, but still, absolutely delightful nonetheless. We were so full we couldn’t even picture getting a desert, though if we did then we’d like to think whatever we got would’ve tasted amazing. Anyways, great food, amazing staff, very relaxed atmosphere and superb table service. Definitely one of the highlights from our stay in Rhodes, Greece and without a doubt, the best meal we had...
Read moreWe visited Rhodes Garden Restaurant during our holiday in Rhodes, and it completely blew us away. As someone with celiac disease, I was worried about eating out in Greece, but this place set the bar sky-high from the very first evening. The staff had 100% control of gluten-free options and made me feel completely safe.
The food itself was outstanding. One dish in particular – the slow-cooked lamb shank on a bed of potatoes and vegetables – is honestly unforgettable. It was so tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared that I will dream about it for years to come.
We loved it so much that we came back four times during our one-week stay, each time trying different dishes. Everything we ordered was equally delicious, beautifully cooked, and full of authentic Greek flavors.
The combination of warm service, genuine understanding of dietary needs, and extraordinary food makes Rhodes Garden stand out above any other place we tried on Rhodes. For us, it wasn’t just dinner – it was the highlight of our culinary experience...
