Pergola — Hotel in Municipality of Serifos

We stayed at this apartment for 5 nights at low season. Our room was on the ground floor. Sadly, we do not comprehend the good ratings. The room was dark and smelly. The bathroom towels were not clean when we arrived and we found big yellow and red stings on them. Even when displaying them to the room maintnance they did not exchange them once. The bed linnen smelled mauldy and where not exchanged once during our stay. Although there was room service every day, it seemed as if there was no cleaning involved, because the room was not clean at all - only tidied up. The terrace (which was actually nice to sit on) was dusty, and dirty as was the terrace table. The kitchen was cleaned for the eye, so that we felt disgusted when having a closer look. The kitchenware was sticky, the cupboards smelly and dusty, cutlery and plates dirty. We would definitely not come back. On the plus side the location is quiet convenient. Perfect accomodation in Serifos for us in a small laneway just off the main road and about an 8-10 min walk from the ferry. Get off the ferry and once you pass the Serifos yacht club restaurant on the main road, walk straight for another 50 metres and the laneway to Pergola is on the left. It is also marked on a signboard with a few other accomodations. The road in front of the accomodation is for motorbikes only and is so wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Stavros and his wife Anna are lovely and I can’t believe how many times our unit has been cleaned and fresh towels left for us. 😊: Room with kitchen - we made our own breakfast. Central location but quiet.. 😢: Prices of food in the supermarkets very high ; same on the restaurant we chose - bad food - we were both sick after a classic moussaka ! Swimming is not recommended in Livadi beach (next to the port) nor in Livadakia above the hill. Those places look attractive but a Greek lady warned us : she showed us a big pipe with dirty waters going directly in Livadi beach and said it was very dangerous for the eyes ... There are beaches where pne can swim but you need your own car to reach them - no transportation to the beaches in May and maybe until mid June. We were very much...
