We stayed at Enalion for 5 nights/6 days during our recent vacation in Sifnos. This is a nice property, very modern and clean. There is no lobby and no 24/7 service. Common area is small outdoor space. The parasols over the beach chairs are fixed so depending on the time of the day, there is no shade. A summary of our experience-
Overall our experience was unsatisfactory. We didn’t feel welcomed, we didn’t even get a good bye from the owner when she went out of her way to bid farewell to guests. She even gave gifts to some guests when they left. We were so glad to leave! Not sure if the owner is biased towards Americans but at the end of the day, if you are in the service industry and you have paying customers then you should make their experience as pleasant as possible. There is no way we will return to this hotel. Some may question why I’m writing this review and my reason is to provide an honest feedback so that you can make an informed decision as to where to stay during your next vacation. I always appreciate reading both positive and negative reviews before I...
Read moreEnalion certainly lives up to its greek name. It is "of the sea" being situated right in the centre of the beautiful beach at Platys Gialos. The accommodation is for adults only, resulting in a very tranquil stay, with the sound of the waves lapping the shore lulling you to sleep at night - or even during the day, it was that relaxing! Every suite has a wonderful view and the interior design is of a very high standard using local traditional materials while maintaining a chic modernist look. |Breakfast was excellent, served under shady trees on the patio area in front of the sea, and you could easily order a drink or snack throughout the day there also.||Platys Gialos itself is not a huge beach, more a large cove nestled between two headlands, with a harbour at one end. The sand is fine and powdery and the sea slopes relatively quickly . There are a number of good restaurants along the beach ( I recommend To Steki) and a few small market shops.|Unfortunately we could only stay for two nights and did not have a chance to explore the rest of Sifnos, but what we saw, while crossing the island from Kamares ( the port) to Platys Gialos impressed us. Sifnos is hilly and quite green due to all its olive groves. |We immediately decided we were coming back to it to explore further, and that when we do return we will definitely stay at Enalion again. At our departure the family lined up to thank us for staying and wish us a good trip home - a lovely touch, much appreciated.|Oh yes, we...

It was magical to lie in bed with the windows open, listening to the gentle sound of the waves. The balcony was a wonderful spot, complete with a small table, chairs, and our own sun loungers. While it did lose the sun in the afternoon, it was still the ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine in the early evening before heading out for dinner. The hotel offers beer and wine for sale, and there’s also a small market nearby where you can pick up a bottle.||The room itself was nice, with a minimalist Mediterranean design. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept so well. The open bathroom concept worked well for us, with the toilet in a separate room for privacy.||The location couldn’t be better. You can walk right down the beach to many restaurants or the mini-market. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t need it again for the rest of our stay—everything is within easy walking distance.||Few things to note: the prices are high but you are paying for a newer hotel right on the beach. The hospitality was not as warm as other hotels in Greece . People who run in are pleasant but don’t go out of their way to make you...
