Fun Beach — Hotel in Municipality of Sithonia

Upon our arrival in Neos Marmaras, as we had time for some late afternoon beach, we headed towards the beach, located south from the center of the town. We decided to sit in FunBeach bar as there were quite a lot of empty sunbeads instead of the other beach bars, surrounding ours. ||||What we like on a first place was the fact that the sunbeads were in really good condition and quite comfortable, but unfortunately this is the only positive thing about this place.||||The staff was nice, but three times forgot for our orders, so we needed to remind them, whenever we are able to see them, because most of the time, they were nowhere to be found. For my last order, a lemon ice tea, it tooked them 35 MIN to bring it. Just to clarify - at that time all the bar did not have more than 5 or 6 customers and your drinks are coming from the other side of the street, which divides the beach bar from the actual bar and I guess hotel area. Usually I do not expect a service with the speed of the light, but 35 MIN for a lemon Ice tea... ||||The beer was served in a bucket full with water, which was not cold at all with two ice cubs, just to say that there is something. You can guess that after 10 min the beer was already very warm, especially when you are drinking it in 39 degrees day.||||The owner was also quite an interesting creature. He was constantly going around with a grumpy face and if he does not like something sends his guys from the staff to argue with the clients. They argue with a mother and a child that they were the two of them sitting on one sunbead??? Probably he was worried that a 20kg 5yo and his mother will break the sunbead idk.||||The last thing is that you are paying for the actual sunbeads as well. I was suprised in the beggining, because usually you pay only for drinks in Greece when you sit on the sunbeads, but here we paid extra 10 E per sunbead.I thought obviously this is the case in Neos Marmaras, as it was relatívely big town,compared to other towns in Halkidiki. After that we realized that the beach bar has different prices - some sunbeads cost 5E, other 10E (the supposed better ones, although for me there wasn't difference). I asked why we were not told that info, but the stuff just said that we have sat there and it was our choice (probably if they had told us, they knew that we would prefer the cheaper one, as they were the same quality). ||||After the beach we decided to check the other bars and their offers. First of all all the other bars are with free sunbeads, you just order drinks and also food, smth which we did not received at the FunBeach, or if they were offering it, there was no menu, which all the other bars give to you. Second all the other bars were trying to welcome you with a smile, smth which I cannot say for the owner and the stuff of FunBeach.||||If I ever come back to Neos Marmaras, I would definitely avoid this bar and recommend other people to do so. Aug 2024 review. Would NOT recommend this place for sun umbrellas and chairs. Vacationers beware of the angry bird owners here at 'Fun Beach' location. Not accommodating and rude.

We're a couple and as we were looking for sunbeds/chairs, this place had all kinds of chairs available. Okay, wow, nice, perhaps they charge more and people are looking for cheaper options? So we took the €20 chairs. The real reason all the other locations to their left and right of them were full with people and this location of, 'Fun Beach', were available, is because of the old grumpy owners. They should change their name. Not 'fun' here. Example 1: If you're a couple with two children and want one umbrella and two sunbed chairs, which is €20 (that's the cheaper ones, €30 by the water), "No no! You need to buy another umbrella for all four. No sharing chairs." They are old school Greeks that have no courtesy or pleasantries. Example 2: My wife came to sit on my chair to show me pictures and the owners (obviously looking sharply at whoever is in their chairs), came to us and said, "excuse me no two people sitting on one chair." What!? Get a grip! This place packs their little beach area with over 25 umbrellas, with two chairs each, and it's evident that people know who they are and don't sit there since 90% of their chairs have no one in them. Ha. Every family (with children especially) that comes here gets treated with an abrupt attitude. Here's another, as I'm typing this review, the owner is having a screaming match with a family of 5 (all in Greek) they have three little kids. Loser. Poor family picks up all their bags and leaves. By the way, he doesn't care for any bad reviews, told a couple not happy, "the go get your own...

Pro (only one unfortunately): ||||the sunbeds are comfortable (there is also a downside to it to, which may be fair in my opinion: 5 € tax for 1 sunbed. However, in that area, everywhere else is free as far as I've seen)||||Cons: ||||The owner is disrespectful, you do not feel welcomed there.||No wifi was available.||You are allowed to do basically nothing there, some rules are of common sense, but others are not. ||For example: There was nothing to eat there on that day, not even a greek salad and at the same time you are forbidden to eat food from somewhere else, even if they don't have any (the excuse was that the oven doesn't work or something like that, anyway, it's just a salad you don't need an oven to make it). ||Something else that didn't happen to me, but I was an observant to the scene: If you dare to bring something there like food or water, the waiters ( probably at the request of the owner ) come to you with the sign so everyone can see that you did something wrong, for some reason they do not explain it nicely, they have to bring the sign for it.||Anyway, I agree with the rule that only drink and food bought from there can be consumed, but YOU MUST HAVE DRINK AND FOOD TO OFFER, I come there to relax and eat on the beach, not to change, wash and go to other restaurants. I don't ask for "haute cuisine", I ask for a greek salad or something simple.||||In conclusion, one of the worst place to go especially when you are on vacation and you want to relax...
