We were fortunate to find these apartments from a suggestion by someone that we asked in a shop on the seafront. ||These apartments offer very basic rooms in need of a little TLC but very much in need of cleaning. The rooms were littered in thick dust with crumbs on the table, cigarette holes in the cushions, and the headboards absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. Given that they were clearly new beds, don't let people smoke indoors! Remove the ashtray from the bedside table and insist that people smoke outside, on the balcony - that's pretty standard everywhere these days and will help keep the rooms much nicer. However, the room, bathroom and balcony were of a good size and improvements have clearly been made now that (I assume) a younger member of the family is taking it on. ||The beds were super comfortable but did not have mattress protectors. The kitchen area needed updating and supplying with everything it mentions on their website which it didn't (toaster). We'd also recommend a microwave and a hob ring to really justify being self catering. ||Externally, the apartments were fairly smart having been relatively recently painted and all offered a useful clothes drying rack. There was also a pleasant canopied, communal seating area amongst a vast array of basil plants! These apartments could really be quite wonderful with only a few touches required. ||The location was fabulous - just one road off the seafront and the owner (a young lady called Emmanuella) was very friendly, kind and ammeanable. We'd recommend these apartments for a short stay and we very much hope that Emmanuella continues making improvements and focuses on...
Read moreWe arrived at the time we had stated online and yet there was nobody at the "reception" and no one was answering either one of the listed phone numbers. After ringing all the doorbells desperate to find someone to accommodate us the owner came only to show us to our room which was inside the reception! There was an awful smell in every internal space and the lack of cleanliness and hygiene was apparent before we even set foot in the door. Of course we didn't stay and we left immediately moments after having been shown...
Read moreA descent low budget hotel. It was clean and the new young owner very helpful. The location is perfect. Just 100m from the sea, beach bars etc. Also Sitia is a town where everything is in a walking distance. It needs for sure renovation, specially the bathrooms. Kitchen had also some old basic cutlery, dishes etc. It was value for money. Actually for the price I rent, it exceeded my expectations. My complain was that they temporarily couldn't...
