The hotel itself is set in beautiful surroundings about 1.5km from Messonghi in the lush Green Countryside.|KERKYRA is a great Family owned hotel with most of its guests returning year after year dome for the past 35 years which speaks volumes in itself. The hotel rooms which are studios are done out to a high standard, has Fridge, kettle, toaster,Hairdryer, minium crockery, utensils etc but enough but who really wants too cook in Greece when there's Greek food to be had certainly not us.|The pool area is beautiful as is the hotel Bar the owner loves flowers which makes the whole areas beautiful.|The bar which does breakfast and snacks then main meals on an evening is lovely,The food is good overal especially the breakfast and reasonably priced, drinks both soft and alcoholic are reasonable no more than places in the village especially the beach area which obviously slightly more expensive I wanted to address this as I noticed another couple reviews obviously the same family stating they were extortion they are not, they also said no one to check them in a room key left with a note which I find hard to believe as the owners husband and wife are there till at least 1am when the bar closes and there Son is there a lot later to do any late check ins we have observed this every night,so I feel these 2 reviews are either exgharrating or basically complete lies.|One downside is the walk into Messoghi it 1.5km at least not the 1km most holiday firms advertise it as,it's also a very windy dangerous road as its very thin, twisty couple of inclines several blind spots with no street lighting so anyone eith walking difficulties unless have a car or get a taxi it would not suit, unless there the type to stay put by a pool the whole holiday.|Obviously this isn't the hotels fault and it's a fantastic hotel the local council should put some street lighting down that road it'd make it easier and safer as walking it on a night is unsafe,we got taxis back because of this.|I'd recommend the hotel to anyone who dosent mind the walk or is prepared to hire a car or use taxis back on a night, apart from that an absolute...
Read moreI agree with previous reviews about the hotel being average. We were very disappointed on our arrival. We were put in a very unwelcoming room in the annexe that you get to by walking out of the hotel, past another, and then up two flights of steps to a very basic room, with a horrible outlook of a run down villa with a very overgrown and neglected garden. I’d emailed previously to ask that we are near facilities as my husband has mobility issues. It seems that Jet 2 guests are placed in the annexe. Others are placed in apartments that we were quoted as ‘private’ by the owners son, These are Green apartments, the ones about the restaurant/bar/reception are the Blue apartments. These are there titles. The son put us on to a jet 2 rep who said they weren’t aware my husband had mobility issues. Even though she confirmed she knew he had assistance at the airport?? She was no help whatsoever. ||We were not offered help with our cases, I had to struggle along the road, past another hotel, in the heavy rain and up two flights of stones steps. We were told we should have said something. My husband clearly had mobility issues! |The facilities in the room are sparse. Very little cutlery/plates/cups. Literally 2 spoons, forks, knives. We didn’t cook in the apartment, you would be very limited with what you could do. The cost for drinks is expensive, the food during the day is reasonable, the menu after 7pm is pricey for the portion sizes. The walk to the village area is long and hilly at points. You do need a torch for an evening walk and cars do speed along there, it’s quite treacherous at times. Not that we do generally return to the same hotels, as we’d prefer to explore more places, but sadly we would not return to this hotel regardless. ||Highly recommend Fisherman’s Haunt restaurant just up the road, beautiful setting by the sea, delicious and tasty food. A good size mythos, not the small size the hotel sold at a cost, very reasonably priced....
Read moreThis hotel is run by a family who are customer focussed without being intrusive and they are what makes this place special. The pool and sunbathing area are really lovely - quiet, comfortable and surrounded by nature. The food in their restaurant and, to be honest, all the surrounding restaurants was very good.|The room (103 in our case) was basic and had no view from the balcony - other rooms did have some lovely views however. I wouldn't recommend it if you really want to self cater as there was barely enough equipment to make breakfast. However it was clean and comfortable and value for money. The air conditioner was noisy but it worked and was sorely needed at 35+ degrees. Our main disappointment was that the TV was set at a maximum volume which was not loud enough to hear without being 2 foot from it and having turned off anything that made a noise (the air con for one!!) It may not be a problem for most people but we like to take a few movies to watch before bed. Spiros insisted this was the law!|The location is a 15 min brisk walk into the village along a typical narrow road with no pavements and no lighting at night so a torch is recommended. We didn't mind the walk but you do need to do it to get to the beach, buy supplies and go out anywhere except for the few restaurants near to the hotel.|All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel due to the friendly service, the pool area and the value for money. I believe we were in the annex set aside for Jet2 customers and other (possibly nicer and more expensive) rooms may be available. We had 3 star accommodation with 5...
