LOULASS VILLAGE APARTHOTEL — Hotel in Municipality of Southern Corfu

Wow ! we stayed here for the 1st time for a week in May ( wish we had booked for longer ) and mainly because of the excellent reviews , sometimes you think something is too good to be true when it is reviewed so well, but i cannot praise Loulass Village and the staff enough and i can see why people come back time after time because we will definitely come back . Everything was amazing, lovely and peaceful place - we stayed in room 411 - gorgeous sea view this place is so stunning , beautiful apartment - very modern, bathroom/apartment was lovely , beds very comfy and it was spotless ! The whole place was so well maintained too and lovely location. Short 15 minute walk into Messonghi with more amenities - which was a beautiful walk - the road is perfectly safe and the drivers are very mindful that people are walking regularly on this road so no concerns and well lit at night. Food at Loulass was really nice we ate there a couple of nights and lunches during the day if we were there , pool area is good and the staff are amazing .Do go to George and Elenas taverna at the bottom of the road too - the food there was fantastic traditional Greek home cooked food and they are lovely its very popular. Also recommend Homer Boat trips in Messonghi - well priced and we did a trip to the Blue Lagoon /caves/Greek mainland it was fun and stunning. There are some good restaurants and a good / regular/cheap bus service into Corfu Town and other places from Messonghi . We had a fantastic holiday and we will be back to stay...

Absolutely gorgeous complex built in a tiered fashion in a lovely quiet location by the sea. The apartment is spacious & newly modernised. Good size comfy bed. The cleaners work hard to keep them spotlessly clean. There is a generous balcony too with sea views from upper apartments. We had an upper apartment worth the very short up hill walk in 38 degrees to get spectacular view. The pool area is compact but even when complex was full there are always sunbeds free |From leaving the complex it’s a minute walk to the sea where you will find the Fishermans Haunt taverna. Not only did we eat there a couple of times it also became our one for the road at the end of the evening. |Back to Loulass we ate at their taverna I had the sword fish it was the best I’ve had cooked perfectly. Also try the Loulass omlette for breaky so tasty as I kept telling them.|The walk to Messonghi is a lovely coastal walk during the day. We did it quite a few times at night we just put our torches on and it was fine. The drivers mainly know there are pedestrians walking plus it’s a narrow road (buses can't fit) so they have to drive carefully anyway.|Things to do … jump the bus to Corfu town a beautiful city go and explore the fort. Best apartment we have stayed in in Greece. Large, clean and an excellent sea views. |The bar and restaurant were good (we only had breakfast and some lunches but all good) and ran by a friendly family.||Two things to bear in mind if you are coming here.|1. There does not appear to be anywhere to change sterling into euros. The restaurants accept credit cards /prepaid cards so not an issue. There are ATMs about. |2. The mosquitos ! Apparently it’s a bad September this year but the do get them every year- so come prepared! I don’t think there is one person without a bite !! ||The receptionist is very helpful booked taxis and restaurants as we have needed - there only appear to be two taxis so be prepared to wait. ||The walk to Messonghi is 15minutes. Not an issue, you just need a torch and some care as there is no pavements. ||408,409,410 seemed to have the best sea views but as you can expect there is abit of a climb up a hill to get to them. There are some apartments that you can take the lift and you are nearly on a flat so request if needed. ||There are lots of repeat guests so a lovely buzz around and everyone is happy to share information if needed. ||Sunbeds - plenty, never an issue.||The bar will provide 6 large bottles of water for E2.50! Saves carrying from town. They can also provide the essentials Milk etc....
