First of all, I have to say this about the hotel: absolutely and definitely, if you have a dream about the sea and swimming in the sea, please give it up. The beach where this hotel is located stretches for kilometers on both sides, and whether you go left or right, there is extraordinary seaweed and pollution. The people writing that the sea is beautiful are the hotel’s own staff and acquaintances. If you like, search the sea of the Kavos area on the internet and you will see how right I am.
In addition, the hotel’s location is about 40 km away from the airport. On such a touristic island, there is a terrible, prehistoric road. Therefore, it takes on average 1.5 hours by taxi to reach the airport if there is no traffic, and this costs you about 90 euros. So, if you are thinking of staying in this area, again I say: definitely forget about swimming in the sea, because the sea is terribly dirty, full of seaweed, and awful. Also, because of its distance from the airport, you will spend a terribly boring 1.5-hour trip, keep that in mind.
Now, about the hotel itself. The rooms were generally clean. There is a small pool, but it is only open at certain hours, so if you want to swim late at night, you cannot. The breakfast at the hotel is not a buffet, you order and it comes on your plate, and to me this is a disadvantage. You cannot choose your breakfast as you like. I have been to dozens of hotels, but this feature of the hotel is, in my opinion, a very serious minus.
In addition, there is a practice I have never seen in any country or hotel: to use the air conditioner in your room, you have to pay an extra 10 euros per night. Let’s say you stayed five nights, they charge you an extra 50 euros just for running the air conditioner. The reason for this is ridiculous and unjustifiable, you cannot explain it. Because the people in front of you are not reasonable, so either leave the hotel or accept paying this money.
Furthermore, there is another practice I cannot understand: they charge every guest a 50-euro deposit!!! I did not understand the reason for this either.
By the way, I want to give some information about the Kavos area where the hotel is located. Generally, the people coming are young English tourists between the ages of 20 and 30. Since they want a cheap holiday and do not care much about quality, over 90% of the environment is English. I saw very few families coming to that area. The nightclubs along the road are extremely mediocre and low-quality.
If I had to rate the hotel out of ten, frankly I would...
Read moreAt Oasis Hotel we spent 6 nights and it was a successful stay full of hospitality. Even though we usually only sleep in hotels and spend the day sightseeing, we can't say a bad word about this place. Cleaning was always done after breakfast, the hotel ladies often waited specifically for us until we left, and the host was helpful with both assistance and advice. We recommend it despite the location in the center of Kavos, which turned out to be a party town after our arrival. Although we probably won't return to Corfu, we'll remember this place as a good accommodation base. Now for some negatives - if you're planning to spend time at the hotel, Kavos generally isn't a good accommodation base. The hotel had lots of young drunk English people playing music on their balconies. I understand that's the target clientele for such resorts, but you should keep this in mind. We only slept there and spent whole days exploring the island, so the problem wasn't too bothersome in our case. Room equipment was basic but clean, and that's most important. The breakfast menu was quite disappointing for a 3.5-star hotel - after 1 day we knew to order from the menu or the second option - completely skip it and look for breakfast in town. That's all, vacation was a plus, greetings...
Read moreStayed for 1 week with my partner in September 2024. The hotel is only a stones throw away from the shops, bars and resuraunts. The location is perfect, however you can hear the music from the bars in your rooms up until about 4-5am. The pool area is nice and clean and the family who own the hotel are lovely. HOWEVER our bathroom stunk of sewage, the drains where horrible and the bathroom always flooded after a shower. We had to keep the window open and keep spraying our deoderants. There is also a strong smell of sewage around the hotel and often wiffs around the pool. We had ants crawling over the kitchen work tops which made in impossible to have any food in the room. On the plus the maid made the beds everyday and gave us clean towels often. Overall we would not stay at this specific hotel again but cant complain for the cheap price! Also 50euros deposit for the room and...
