Ethereal Stay enjoys a convenient location near the center of Spetses, within easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and the pier. While the island itself prohibits cars, scooter rentals are essential if you want to explore the beaches. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the receptionist was warm and welcoming. However, the accommodation left much to be desired in terms of comfort and practicality. The room we stayed in was exceptionally small—more akin to student accommodation than a hotel. We struggled to fit our clothes, luggage, and shoes into the limited space, with no room left to move comfortably. A single tiny hanger for wet towels/clothes was located in the communal outdoor area. On one occasion, we tried to use it, only to find it already taken over by the couple in the next room. It’s hard to enjoy a private and carefree holiday when you find yourself squabbling over a shared hanger with strangers. The bathroom was poorly ventilated, with unpleasant odors permeating from the sink and no window to air it out. The shower was so cramped that the curtain constantly clung to your body while showering, and water splashed all over the bathroom floor, soaking the toilet area. Even worse, the hairdryer was located dangerously close to the shower, often damp—clearly a health and safety hazard. The most disappointing problem was the lack of privacy. Our ground-floor room offered zero privacy, with its door opening directly into a busy communal hallway that felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Noise was constant: you could hear conversations from neighboring rooms, o dragging furniture from other rooms, barking dogs, and constant construction drilling. In the early morning, around 8am, cleaning staff were chatting loudly on their phones outside the room, emptying air-conditioning runoff buckets and mopping loudly. There was no sound insulation, and loud voices at 1am were not uncommon. We had to keep our curtains closed at all times to maintain any sense of privacy, which left the already cramped room feeling even more claustrophobic. Photos on Booking.com were misleading, portraying a peaceful and private space when in reality the front of our room was essentially a corridor used by other guests, a room view of a communal toilet across the room, and staff and guests walking by all day long. Hospitality providers need to understand that people travel from abroad—by airplane, car, ferry boat, taxi, and more—just to reach places like Spetses. They come for a short time, spending a lot of money on the location, hoping to rest and recharge after months of cold weather and hard work. The very essence of hospitality is to create a space where guests can relax, feel welcome, and experience comfort.

The room was clean, but I would say it's very small if you want to stay more than 2-3 days and you have big languages! I also found the bathroom too small. The staff was very friendly, and the location of the rooms was really convenient! Breakfast included is the small basket I uploaded!

You'll sleep well here tonight! Brand new hotel, impeccable renovation, stylish design, with modern bath fixtures, and a real comfortable mattress and box spring. The towels were soft, clean smelling, and luxurious to the feel. Air Conditioning was very effective too.

Phillip provided a wonderful room on the second floor with balcony. I didn't use the balcony much, except for eating a takeout meal, only due to the high temperatures. TV channel choices are limited, but viewing the beauty of Spetses makes up for it. Highly recommend!

Look for wildlife, and I don't mean all the cats... I actually saw a wild porcupine -- tiny little thing. Spindly legs, awkward in movement. A local who saw it told me they are around and eat the food left for cats by the villagers. Cats don't bother them for...
