We have just spent the best 2 weeks in this lovely cave house in Finikia. Which is a pleasant 15-20 walk from Oia, it’s much quieter as well without so many people. There are fabulous restaurants in Finikia which two you can see from the cave. Finikia has grown somewhat since we last came to Thira but if it hadn’t this beautiful villa wouldn’t be here. ||The hot tub is a nice addition, it was a nice spot to cool down during the day and warm enough to relax at night. It’s not a pool for swimming but I think they try to make this clear. Plenty of seating outside, would be nice to replace the table at the corner seating area with a higher table so you could eat outside. Inside though there is a nice big table inside and a comfy sofa area to relax. |The beds were large and are very comfy. ||We had the most attentive hosts, nothing is too much trouble but I hope the next guests have less luggage then we did or poor Alex might collapse. |If we needed anything all we had to do was ask, the breakfast is supplied in the villa. We had the best welcome we have had in a long time from both Alex and his colleagues. The room was very well stocked, I was very surprised what was waiting for us.|I cannot praise this staff at this location enough.||Lilli aways made sure we had everything we needed from towels, dressings gowns for the hot tub etc. Lilli and Alex kept us well stocked. The reception staff are so responsive you are never waiting for more than a few minutes for a response. Again whenever we asked for something Alex and Lilli brought it when they came to refresh the cave. There is a reasonableness to have when requests are made so I am not saying that whatever you ask for you will get. ||The only negative is that as Finikia has grown there are some rooms around the cave with some very loud guests who take Little care of others around them. ||Also, if you stay in a hotel with a safe that requires key access, don’t lock and take the key. They had to purchase another safe. ||We hired a car for the two weeks but we wouldn’t again. We may for a few days but didn’t need it and places like Fira have got so busy you don’t want to drive through there.||Definitely recommend this accommodation and will come...
Read moreIt saddens me to have to write this negative review, as typically I pride myself on commending those who demonstrate exceptionalism and professionalism. This property has neither. After months of saving for the trip of my parents dreams, this property became the cause of an absolute nightmare. Upon booking the reservation, the staff seemed courteous and happy to take our money. Unfortunately, an airline issue arose and forced the schedule to shift. Mellow Luxury Cave showed no interest in finding common ground. My parents were forced to forfeit the trip of their dreams and my siblings and I lost every penny. We were willing to postpone and/or alter our plans, including a change in property, in order to meet them half way; but to no avail. They completely shut the door in our face when we offered to be flexible. The staff took our money and ran. Horrible management and even worse...
Read moreMellow Luxury Cave was fabulous. The villa is lovely. All the amenities you need. The kitchen is stocked with milk, juice, water, cereal, fruit, yogurt, jams, honey, coffee, tea and a delicious sweet bread. The villa has a hot tub - it warm which was perfect for hot weather. You have a lovely view of the sea and the village of Finikia. There are two restaurants within easy walking distance as well as a mini-mart. It’s an easy 15 minute walk to Oia. The staff are amazing. We had a suitcase that didn’t make it on our flight to Athens from Paris. They were so helpful in assisting us to get the bag back. We loved our stay here and would only caution if you have any mobility issues, this is not the place to stay. It requires walking a distance from the road, down narrow lanes to access the unit. Other than that, we have nothing but glowing reviews for the Mellow...
