First time in Perissa in 15 years so we were interested to find out what had changed. Good job we had our wits about us too - turns out there's ANOTHER Sea Side in Perivolos, which our driver tried to drop us at first. Best be aware, particularly if you're a Santorini newbie. |Anyway, the last time we visited Perissa, this place was a campsite, so plenty of changes in the interim. |Initial impressions were good - the apartments are really cute and spacious and it feels good fun climbing to the separate bedroom up the stairs (even if it means stumbling around in the dark if you answer the call of nature during the night). |The good news is each apartment seems very well appointed, the wifi is decent, and it's very welcome having a large bluetooth speaker to play with. The shower is nice and strong and there seems plenty of hot water (always a bugbear in Greece, that). The air conditioning is among the best I've ever experienced - completely silent and, most importantly, included in the price. Excellent. |Couple of minor niggles prevent it being a resounding success. First of all, there's no reception desk so it's a bit hit-and-miss if you have anything to report. So while there was usually someone around outside in the grounds, it's not always the case. We were running out of toilet roll once and there was nowhere to go to ask for some more. Best always let them know what time you're arriving so there's someone there. |Secondly, and as some people have reported, there is an occasional whiff from the sewers. Not overwhelming, and not all the time, but it's there. |Be aware there's no pool (I failed to appreciate that when I booked), but the sea is literally across the street. |Lastly, hanging and drawer space is a little limited. We had just about enough for a two week stay, but if we'd been a little more extravagant (or had taken two suitcases), we'd have been struggling. |But, as I say, these are small beer. Overall, it's a lovely spot, and Waves Beach Bar next door is wonderful - best bar in the resort. It's great for relaxing out the front of your apartment at breakfast (or at sundown with a glass of vino), and is great value for money. You can pay a lot for not very much when it comes to accommodation in Santorini and the Exi Sea Side Suites is definitely the best place we've stayed in our four trips to the island. Highly...
Read moreWe stayed at Pasithei Studios for 4 nights in July 2018 and we can’t recommend it enough! ||The location in Perissa is perfect for accessing the beautiful black sand beach and lots of wonderful restaurants and bars along the beachfront. There is a great 24 hour bakery just over the road from the hotel and a bus stop within a 2 minute walk where you can get a bus to Fira and beyond.||The owners are the most welcoming, kind and helpful couple you could wish to meet. Nothing is too much trouble, they will go out of their way to ensure your stay is everything you hope for and more! They very kindly arranged for us, great day trip to the volcano, local car hire and airport transfers.||The hotel itself is perfectly clean and beautifully kept with large rooms, air conditioning, a kitchenette and modern decor. We even had a complimentary bottle of water and local wine waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived.||We can’t wait to return and wouldn’t stay anywhere else on Santorini now that we’ve found this gem! Looking forward to our next stay already! ||Thank you to all at the...
Read moreHello Laura! I just want to say thank you to Laura for welcoming our family. She was a fantastic hostess, always available, friendly and super great with our 4 year old twin girls. We stayed nearly a week and our kids loved the small pool and were there every afternoon. The garden was pretty and we loved that Laura has a bar/cafe/restaurant on site so we were even able to go for a “date night” with the kids sleeping 1 metre away from us in their bedroom.
We had the “Saumon”/Salmon apartment which was a large two bedroom apartment. It’s underground and next to the courtyard so it can be a little bit noisy in the evenings from other guests. There were basic amenities provided such as a pot, pan and a little stove and fridge. More utensils and kitchenware could be provided but I made do with what was there. The only complaint I have was the double beds were uncomfortable and you can feel the springs on the mattress. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay here. The location for Perissa was good, easy to walk to the bus stop, the beach and the shops/little mini...
