We ate at Volcano three or four times during our stay in Perissa. We're a family of three with a 10 year old kid. I can not recommend the restaurant enough. We ate both inside and on the beach - both were lovely. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and had good English to make up for my hideous attempts at Greek. The menu offers all the Greek classics from seafood to meze. Despite eating there often, we ate something different every time (except the kid who had feta and chips followed by klefticos and ice cream each night! 🙄). My favourite dish was the Stifado, which was excellent - tender beef and plenty of it, served with chips and cracked wheat. But, we ate gyros, souvlaki, klefticos, moussaka, baked feta, saganaki, and all were enjoyed. We drank both Retsinas on the menu and enjoyed them. Ouzo with ice to finish! The kid ordered Klefticos with ice cream each night, and it was always enough for the three of us (extra cutlery brought without asking!). To finish, complimentary mini chocolate ice lollies 🍭 It was delightful on the beach; our kid enjoyed watching the cats, which she named socks, suit and pom pom. (The cats did not bother us at the table, but were wondering along the road between the restaurant and the beach part). NB The road is closed to traffic on an evening in this section of town. Great staff, great service, great atmosphere and...
Read moreNot usually one to leave bad reviews but it was NOT a great experience at all. Had to wait for food for 35-45 minutes. Didn't even get an apology for the delay of food and we had to actually ask how long it was going to take for us to get our food seeing it was taking so long. Other people who arrived way after us got food served a while before us too. They also got my order wrong as I asked for my food specifically without salad and just the plain chicken, I ordered a chicken souvlaki and it came with salad and onions and peppers on when I asked without and the chicken was very dry and not even worth it. There was 4 chunks of chicken small salad and handful of flat chips and was nearly €10. My mum ordered a main meal of stuffed tomatoes which was just put on a side plate and not even presented nicely with no salad or anything it was just 2 stuffed tomatoes and 3 or 4 flat chips. Will definitely not be...
Read moreIf I could rate this place with fireworks instead of stars, I would! During our holiday, we basically became part of the furniture—we had so many amazing meals here that the menu is now like an old friend. Every single bite was a delight, but the superstars for us were definitely the moussaka, lamb kleftiko (seriously, it should win awards), and the shrimps saganaki, which brought happy tears to our eyes. The calamari is so fresh and crispy, it made us forget all other calamari we’ve ever known. And please, do yourself a favor and try the volcano salad—so good, it should be renamed “salad of happiness.” The crew are fantastic, the views over the beach are unbeatable, and the good vibes are absolutely contagious. Only problem: now regular food will never taste the same. Already counting the days until we...
