I wish I could give this hotel 0 stars. From the moment we got there our experience was less than pleasant. Upon arrival we asked an older gentlemen at the front desk where we could get food, he told us there was a bakery nearby but my husband has celiac disease so we hit up a grocery store and picked up some supplies for lunch. When we returned to the hotel the same gentleman asked if we had found the place alright, I replied that we had and asked if we could eat in the dining room, he said yes. We go in and while my husband unpacks the food I ask the man for some plates and cutlery, he brings them to us and then proceeds to evict us from the dining room he JUST told us we could eat in. We go outside to eat after we are shoo’d away, and then go to inquire about our room which was not ready upon arrival despite there being a ton of rooms and not a soul in sight. A kind brunette woman shows us to our room, and we lug our suitcases up 2 small flights of stairs. We promptly leave our luggage and head down to the beach which was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The sea was freezing, so we decided to hit the pool at the hotel instead, this is where the over chlorinated pool sucked every ounce of moisture from our skin. We get back to the hotel and open the shower curtain to reveal a tiny shower that was dirty despite neither of us having used it. We turn on the air conditioning after deciding to forgo the shower for the time being, and step onto the balcony (if you can call it that) while the room cools down, the balcony is about two feet and overlooks onto someone else’s drying laundry. Nice. We go back into the room and lay on the hardest mattress ever, and my husband notices that I’m now coughing severely, we don’t quite put two and two together and so we remain in the room. About 30 minutes later my lungs are about to explode so my husband suggests a walk into town, I go to unplug my iPad and put it in my suitcase only to realize it is SOAKED because surprise, surprise the air conditioning has been leaking on it. I go downstairs to the front desk, there’s now a curly haired blonde lady with glasses who greets me, I tell her I want a different room because A) the air conditioning is leaking and B) there is very clearly something in that room that is making me cough. She asks me what temperature the room is and I tell her it’s at 17, she tells me I have to put it to 23 or it will leak (we were never told this). It’s 28 degrees outside and blistering hot, why would anyone want lukewarm air conditioning? But regardless she denies my request to change rooms, and ignores the fact that I said I was coughing in the room, even kind of laughed a bit when I said it. So I go back to the room, turn down the AC and continue to cough up a lung (the AC kept leaking btw). My husband is now concerned with the severity of my cough and suggests a walk into town, it was about 2 km on a main road, with minimal sidewalk. He talks to his mom and tells her about my cough, she is a nurse and says get out, my reaction could be from BLACK MOULD !! So we contact our travel agent who calls the front desk to complain for us, HERES THE KICKER, the blonde lady FLAT OUT LIES AND SAYS WE NEVER ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT ROOM!!!!!!!! What!?!? At this point we are fed up, and we have met a kind woman from our hometown who shows us her hotel which is 1 minute away from the main strip, beach at a fraction of the price. The owner finds us a room and we get to the hotel to pack our stuff, we take a closer look at the AC this time and notice green mould on it, yuck. We check out and I tell the blonde lady I don’t appreciate her lying to our travel agent when I obviously did come down to ask for another room, she confirms her lie and recognizes that I did ask for another room, and asks me to show her the mould in a very rude way. The cab calls, and I tell her we are leaving and that’s final, I hand her the key...
Read moreMe and my partner booked a room for our honeymoon with a double bed, garden view and bath tub for her, (She has back issues so can't use a shower). It was also supposed to be on the ground floor as she struggles with stairs.
The pictures looked beautiful and we were really excited!
When we arrived we were already let down by the fact we were told we couldn't use the pool because the room we booked was across the street in their other building... The pool was extremely small anyway and it was near the beach so not a huge deal but still upsetting as I love swimming in pools.
Unfortunately it was only downhill from there. When we arrived at the room it was completely different than the one we specifically paid for.
There was only a shower and 2 single beds, also the view was overlooking the run down road rather than the garden. Not only that but the room itself was nowhere near as nice looking as the photos. And it was on the second floor.
We called reception to see what was going on and even had our booking up on the phone that said (garden view, double bed, Bath tub). To prove without a doubt that's what we paid for!
(They refused to even look at it)
I started out really friendly as I didn't want to cause any issues but the owner was extremely unhelpful and didn't really seem to care, she even had the audacity to tell us no rooms had a bath when you can look on the images right now and see that some do!!!
She basically told us we can leave with a refund and find somewhere else or deal with it! We didn't even get an apology.
My partner was really upset and stressed out so I went to reception showed the booking and said this isn't what we paid for I'm not leaving until we get a FULL REFUND because you completely ripped us off.
They made it really hard to get our money back, we had to argue and push hard for it. They said we could get it back no problem on the phone, I guess they didn't think we'd actually do it.
It was a blessing in disguise tbh because when we left we found a last minute booking deal at the sunset view hotel, it wasn't far and for just 2 hours wasted on this rubbish and a little extra cash it was definitely worth it!
We had a huge beautiful room, massive pool WE COULD ACTUALLY USE, and all the facilities and room specifications that were promised, the staff were amazing and it made our trip unforgettable!
You can check my review history to prove that I'm extremely fair in my reviews and leave way more positive than negative. THATS HOW YOU KNOW THIS WAS TERRIBLE...
DO NOT STAY HERE, I think what happened is they accidently mixed our rooms with another couple checking in at the same time Honestly, it was a nightmare and one of the worst experiences I've had abroad.
The lady was really friendly when we arrived but that quickly changed when the refund was brought up, I hope you have an amazing trip IN A DIFFERENT HOTEL, paros is beautiful and we had a great time after this rubbish
I even said is their any chance we can change rooms tomorrow, I tried everything to work with them, but apparently, they didn't know and started getting angry...
How can you not know what rooms are available as the receptionist and owner??? Extremely unprofessional and rude.
Thanks for reading,...
Read moreI've visited Aegeon hotel during a business trip (2 nights). The hotel is located on the peripheral road, about 1km from the Port(easy walk). It's a 40years old establishment but recently well-renovated. Though it lacks the amenities of larger hotels, the overall experience is good.
VERY clean shared spaces and rooms👌, spacious rooms, free wifi, A/C, many outlets on the room, 24/7 receptionist, friendly staff, breakfast was great, everything fresh (except the orange juice which was the regular condensed juice-water mix) There are two bakeries nearby, and a convenience store, so you can get anything you might need before you start your day.
Although some rooms are next to the road (like mine - ground floor), it was very quiet. Unfortunately there is not a nice view (except the small garden) from the rooms in the ground-floor.
I was offered a 4bed room, though I had a single/two bed reservation- guess that had to do with availability but still felt weird 😕.
Due to covid restrictions the pool was open till 16.00, so no after work chilling in the pool. (I guess that could be extended a couple of hours)
The price was low considering the availability, last minute reservation, overall experience etc, so this was a value for money stay 👍
Last but not least, the staff did great in all areas, very helpfull and friendly, considering it was the end of a very exhausting season for them !
Would recommend for a short stay, or if you spend your day around the island and you just need a clean bed/room at the...
