Petalides Apartments — Hotel in Paros Municipality

The location overlooking the seafront is just fabulous and is clearly its best and strongest feature. The apartment is relatively basic, but nice .... about right for the price. However the level of cleanliness was seriously lacking and the bathroom always had a smell of urine. On arrival at Krios Beach we had no idea where the apartment was, there is a distinct lack of signage and having been given no instructions prior to our arrival, we had to ring the owner and await his arrival. The restaurant adjoining the apartments has a beautiful situation overlooking the water. We had one evening meal and one lunch there during our stay, the food was very nice but we found the staff (who we encountered on a daily basis as we had to go through the restaurant to get to our apartment) to be rather surly and not very welcoming. Although the apartment had WiFi, it was problematic and kept dropping out and then saying that the password was incorrect or that access to the WIFi...

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura l'ultima settimana di agosto, in doppia coppia. Il viaggio per raggiungere Paros è stato molto lungo, non è una meta molto facile da raggiungere, ma questo appartamento è valso ogni singolo mezzo di trasporto e ogni singolo minuto di viaggio. Dalle foto viste online (abbiamo prenotato su Booking) non avevamo compreso a pieno quanto fosse spettacolare il posto in cui saremmo andati, e il primo giorno siamo rimasti senza fiato: pensavamo che l'appartamento fosse semplicemente vista mare, o che avesse una spiaggia vicino, non era ben chiaro che a dividerci dalla spiaggia ci sarebbe stata solo una rampa di scale. ||(Abbiamo avuto più di un vicino, che, ad esempio, aveva prenotato per una sola notte come punto di appoggio, e una volta arrivato lì, con la nostra stessa sorpresa, si era pentito di non aver prenotato per più tempo.)||||Il mare è qualcosa di indescrivibile, abbiamo anche provato ad andare in qualche altra spiaggia (visitando Antiparos ad esempio) ma nessun altro reggeva il confronto. Avremmo voluto passare tutto il tempo di quei quattro giorni in quel piccolo pezzo di paradiso. ||||La vista e il mare, però, non sono gli unici punti positivi di questo appartamento:||- I proprietari sono gentilissimi, il primo giorno stavano cuocendo degli spiedini sul barbecue e ce ne hanno offerto un piatto. Super disponibili, potevamo contare su di loro per qualsiasi cosa. ||- La spiaggia è privata. Ogni tanto qualcuno passa per andare al ristorante accanto, ma si sta praticamente da soli.||- Sono a disposizione anche delle sedie a sdraio||- L'unico punto dolente potrebbe sembrare la posizione. L'appartamento è isolato, è lontano dal centro e, nonostante non sia molto lontano (una trentina di minuti) non è possibile percorrere la strada a piedi - percorso senza illuminazioni, poco sicuro di notte. Però, la struttura si appoggia al camping accanto, soprattutto per quanto riguarda una navetta per il centro che in agosto fa più o meno un viaggio all'ora, gratuita anche per i clienti di Petalides: diventa quindi inutile affittare un'auto (risparmiando molto). L'unica cosa a cui stare attenti, è che gli orari cambiano a seconda del periodo in cui ci si trova, i proprietari ci hanno avvisato ma con un giorno di ritardo, quindi abbiamo dovuto prendere un taxi per tornare a casa (anche in questo caso, però, non è stato un grande problema perché la tariffa è stata di 10 euro).||- Si può usufruire anche di altri servizi del camping, come ad esempio il minimarket per le emergenze, ma in quel caso portate con voi dei contanti perché pagare con la carta di credito non era una pratica molto sicura. ||||Insomma, è stata una vacanza perfetta, avremmo dovuto prenotare qualche giorno in più. La cosa più bella è stata addormentarsi ogni notte, e svegliarsi ogni mattina, con il rumore del mare che ci cullava. Speriamo di...

I’m so happy we found this hotel. The location is right on the beach, with a staircase leading right down to what feels like a private beach area just for you. The owners have left beach chairs for your use. The view from your room is just perfect and there is a good restaurant right next to the hotel.

The rooms themselves are standard. We had air conditioning, towels, clean sheets, closets. The bathroom has no door, so beware of that. The kitchen is not full service, but they do provide a small electric hot plate and pans which is sufficient for cooking small, quick meals. The fridge worked fine and had water inside for us.

The owners are extremely nice, make sure you get settled in, and even offer to drive you to the port if needed.
